With all that said I really like El Nopal for their food. Service isn’t bad here but there’s also never been anyone from the wait staff who stood out other than Sharron. Sometimes there’s a wait but it’s only because El Nopal gets busy. And if your food takes a while to come out just remember to have patience with the kitchen staff.

As far as menus go, El Nopal has a pretty good variety of dishes to try. I’m a huge fan of anything Alambre on their menu due to the fact it will come with bacon 🥓.

Chips for the salsa are better than a lot of other places I’ve been. Salsa is mild but decent. Some days it’s great but never bad.

There is no bartender here so your drinks are made by your waiter. I’d suggest using that to your advantage, and tell them what you really want your mixed drink to taste like. They will accommodate.

The food here tastes authentic to me (a very white lady, who at least has been to Mexico quite a few times!). It's honestly delicious, I have never had anything not good here. Staff is friendly. Margaritas do not disappoint. The chips and salsa are on point. Particularly love the fajitas, but burritos, enchiladas, nachos, taquitos are all really yummy! It's kind of a whole in the wall vibe, but it's definitely a clean, and enjoyable, and fun atmosphere.

Fantastic, exquisite, the best Mexican food in St. Louis no doubt in my mind. The owner greeted us with Grace. An amazing hospitality. She’s absolutely wonderful along with the wonderful servers. The food is exquisite infills your tastebuds with joy and praise this Mexican food is amazing.

Went here with some work friends and everything was great. Comfy, clean table and service that kept everything moving.

Everyone’s drinks and food were prepared exactly as expected and we all had a great time. I personally recommend the chorizo con huevos - super yummy. :-)

Great experience here! Owner Nikki was super nice. Loved the atmosphere, very comfortable, clean and warm. You can tell that she takes pride in what she does. El Nopal dip was absolutely amazing, would highly recommend!

We ordered the chicken fajitas and the Cassandra and were not disappointed. Everything came out fresh, was very well seasoned and delicious. Good portion size as well. Hidden gem. Would recommmend!

I've been here many times. It used to be kind of "meh" in the food department. Not bad, just nothing to get excited about. HOWEVER!!! they've clearly up'd their game! The menu has been redone with lots of new dishes added. Pollo tapatio is absolutely phenomenal!! As well as the Pollo Yucatan!! Both came with enough food to make 2 meals from. The chicken in both dishes was some of the best prepared I've had anywhere, while eating out. Don't sleep on this place!the service is great, it's clean and has good energy!!

Fajita nachos with steak or mushroom are my favorite in the menu, pastor tacos are also great! Delicious margaritas, they are pretty strong. Ask for Juan to be your server and tell him Hiram sent you ;)

The flavor is phenomenal! Came here on a Sunday because our usual El Maguey Sunday lunch changed hours. Came here and dare I say it, might be my new favorite place to eat. The price is great for the amount of food you get, the staff is so friendly, and the service is great! Will definitely be coming back! I got one of their fajita entrees and may get this every time.

First time for us to eat at this establishment. Very pleased. Food was freshly prepared and very well seasoned. There are many fine Mexican places around. But this one may the best we have tried in quite a while. Generous portions and fair prices. Will definitely be back.

Truly would give more stars if I could.

This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant we’ve been to in Missouri and we will make it a more common occurrence because of it. My wife and I are from California and have gone to well over 50 different restaurants from north to south and had family bring authentic Mexican food from Mexico. This place reminded us of home and the food was absolutely delicious! Chicken was made to perfect, wife loved the chorizo and even the staff was very helpful and amazing. Thanks for the great experience. We’ll be back.

Good food and hospitable. Crowded on a Friday but they accommodated us quickly. Friendly and polite. Great local spot for Mexican in West County.

My very favorite Mexican Restaurant! Chips and Salsa is great, the queso is so unbelievably good and my favorite is the Burrito Al Carbon which is a burrito with fajita steak it is so good!

Our "go to" Mexican restaurant ...great good, great service--excellent prices. Never had a meal we didn't like!!

Amazing portion sizes and the house marg is Soo tasty!!! My server was Soo attentive to our table even though they were slammed. Thanks again!!

Friendly staff and excellent service. Chicken dishes are always a bit dry. Food is fine, nothing outstanding.
