Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House

This place is adorable. Went on a nice warm Saturday and the greenhouse wasn't too warm. My daughter even got to release a butterfly. We're considering a membership, especially since it works for the botanical garden. We'll definitely be back!

The Butterfly House is a steeple of the west county area. Having beautiful flying creatures such as these butterflies landing on you and interacting with you is breathtaking. I fully and wholeheartedly enjoyed myself in every way possible. Hands down, I recommended the butterfly house to young and old. All ages can appreciate what they have to offer.
You have other insects that greet you while entering into the building. Several species are inside, along with a hands-on demonstration of a few unexpected critters(I won't ruin the surprise, you will not be disappointed). Children will fully enjoy that part. After that , they have themed activities such as coloring, identifying, and other various activities. Out the rear door is the garden. It's a massive space to enjoy snacks and the company of other guests.
The contained sanctuary is Amazing. The breathtaking colors and grace of the butterfly are something i recommend for all to see. 10/10.

It costs $8 and that's definitely worth it.
Also the gift shop is very nice, I found some cute earrings there and spent a lot of money.

Had a fun day with the family visiting the butterfly house and the surrounding park. Went there early this morning and it wasn't so crowded yet. So many butterflies that surround you and the beautiful plants and tropical trees were so gorgeous! You can purchase a butterfly to release in the conservatory and it's a fun activity for the kids.

On a chilly winter day it's the perfect place to spend time looking and learning about bugs and butterflies. Everything was decorated for Mardi Gras with colorful beads.

It was my favorite place to go, and I took my oldest granddaughter for the first time, and she was afraid of butterflies. Now she understand them better, and she sees why I love them so much. ❤ and the staff was great as always

SO MANY BUTTERFLIES! We took the kids, 5 and 2, and it was great. The staff is very friendly. In the same building is a little learning room for kids, with puzzles, books and games. The kids got a kick out of the cool bugs on display also. Outside is a great park and a carousel. (We didn't ride the carousel but it looked cool.)

Had a " spiritual experience ". It's hard to describe. I was sitting in the butterfly chair. The chair had wings and it was like I was a bigger version of one of them. They all quickly became my friends and after a time I didn't want to leave them or that feeling of oneness I had with them and the environment. Joyful tears welled in my eyes at the beauty of the moment. They accepted me. I was one of them. Serene and Peaceful but my mood eventually turning to sadness by the realization of the fact I had to leave my new friends and go back to my home. I said goodbye and tried to hide my bloodshot eyes from the other patrons as I left the building. Butterflies in my stomach and just a tiny pain in my heart.

This was an amazing stop. The outer grounds were beautiful and easy to walk. The inside had fun stuff for kids to learn and play with. The butterfly house was so nice to walk through with many specimens to enjoy.

Absolutely beautiful! Nice staff, family friendly, minimal wait, cool gift shop with snacks & drinks available. Plus the park outside is super fun!

$8 for an adult admission! The baby got in free.
We spent an hour walking around in the green house which was gorgeous. Waterfalls, incredible flowers from all over the country, butterflies flying all around. It's like a little paradise and totally worth the price.
Gift shop, educational theater and a children's program that you can pay for if you want.

And the staff is so educated and loves to tell you about the species.

We had an incredible time at the butterfly house! We saw so many beautiful creatures and the staff was friendly and informative. They were able to answer all of our curiosities about the butterflies and took time to identify plants with us. It’s a great place to relax and take in the sights!

Beautiful and interesting. Very warm in the habitat. You can watch an informational 15 minute show. The gift shop has cute things to buy. There's a nice playground outside for the children. And the carousel is just across the parkinglot.

Magical! Truly an unusual experience. Walking into the butterfly house I was not prepared to feel the appreciation and amazement that accompanied the visit. Watching the butterflies gives one such a sense of inner peace.

Fred was out guide upon entering and exiting the butterfly structure. He gave thorough instructions on how we should comport ourselves in the enclosure and what we should look for upon leaving.

What a treasure this is! Enjoyed greatly.

We stopped by this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. The staff members were friendly and the butterfly house provided a pleasant escape from the cool gray weather outside.

I cannot recommend this butterfly house enough! If you have never been, GO. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable. The butterfly exhibit is big, beautiful, and contain a huge variety of different species of butterflies as well as many places to sit and a small waterfall. There is a small gift shop, garden outside, and a handful of small exhibits inside. Pricing was inexpensive; I believe we paid $21 for two adults and a child. There's no limit on how long you spend in there either. This was our second time visiting and loved it! I truly wish we weren't a 3 hour drive from here or we'd visit more often.

They have a nice military discount which was super nice. Also the men’s AND women’s bathrooms have baby changing tables!!!! The butterfly house was beautiful and hot so drink lots of water before going in. We paid to release a butterfly and our kids loved that. The people were kind and very knowledgeable. Also there is like butterfly puzzles and activities in a room. We went there to cool down and easy spent an hour reading books and doing puzzles and young kid games. My kids are 2 years and 9 months and they both enjoyed it a lot!

The place we visited with my husband , was truly beautiful. The tropical section with the butterflies was meticulously designed and incredibly successful. I saw various species of butterflies there. I observed that the butterflies were carefully preserved in the stages after they transformed from caterpillars.

Supper with Santa was fantastic! All the new changes were really nice. Eating inside at tables was so nice & the cookies to decorate went over well with all the kids. Excellent Job!!
