Comfort foods and traditional fare at reasonable prices served quickly. Top notch service and tasty thoughtfully prepared food. Tastes great without a heavy hand on the salt shaker like some places. Food's flavor shines through as it should. No frills dining area appears to have lots of regulars. We plan to keep going and trying new things along with favorites we've enjoyed.

Took my mom since we were in Lexington and figured we’d try it for first time. Let me tell you there was nothing I could complain about from food, service, staff, & building. They were busy only few empty places to sit and it was 2:30pm so well after lunch rush. Seated immediately. Greeted and drinks before we even had time to start to look at menu. The food was large portions and came quickly for amount of orders they obviously had by customers in building. On top of that the waitresses for other tables would even fill drink or ask if you needed anything anytime they went by unlike other restaurants were they only stick to their own tables. Which actually makes for a better experience as a customer. My only complainant is that I haven’t been going here sooner. Do believe whenever mom and me have a lunch date this will be our first stop from now on. Oh and their menu has a variety and it’s not overwhelming.

My husband & I tried this place for the first time last week and was blown away by the hospitality. We were seated right away and service was provided in a timely manner. The food was amazing. My husband loved their chicken pie dish and I tried their fried pork chops which were so good! The highlight for me was their potato salad! Will definitely be back.

Today was my first time dining here. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a down home, country restaurant so close to home. We went around 1:30 and it was still quite full. The booths were filled with happy folks who seemed to be very comfortable there.
There is a good selection of food from country, seafood, pasta, etc. They also offer daily specials displayed on the white boards. I had the Reuben sandwich combo and enjoyed it very much. Their sweet tea is perfect (if you know anything about sweet tea in the south) and the server very accommodating and kind.
I learned as we were leaving that there is quite a history to this restaurant. The young lady on the register is the granddaughter of the second owner of this establishment that was begun in 1925!

The red fish dinner was delicious! There were no small servings. 😊 It took two mealtimes for me to finish it. I WILL BE BACK! The waitress was wonderful.

Meatloaf is great and so is (are) their cabbage. AND if you haven't had the dipped chicken you are missing out on a real treat. Oh!!! and strawberry shortcake is delicious. Very Friendly folk. The younger wait staff are learning great customer service from owner and daughter, and cashier..Thank you. Hilda

The dipped chicken was delicious. The Mac and cheese was not of true southern quality nor was the sweet potato casserole. The cabbage and corn bread were both good.

You'll be able to walk in and get a table in seconds. Your food comes out in just a few minutes after you order. Your cup will always be full. The chicken pie always hits the spot. I can't say enough good things about this place.

Place has excellent food though the quality of service can be inconsistent. Best chicken livers I've found in a while. Pork chops here are amazing. The prices are very reasonable, and you can eat in the leftovers for the next meal, given the quantity of food they deliver...

First time here and the food was amazing! My friend and I had waited a while wasn’t able to get our lunch so we had to leave without eating! The staff there not only profusely apologized, they brought our food to our training and gave it to us for free!! They also gave us a 10$ coupon to use for future visits! Even though we waited 45 minutes they really made up for it!!! True Southern hospitably! Thank you guys so much and the food was delicious!!! Highly recommend!

Down home Southern comfort food, Soul food, whatever you want to call it, Southern Lunch is wonderful. The cooks seriously know what they're doing. And the wait staff are always hustling. Southern Lunch is an icon.
