Helotes Bicycle

Hank is amazing! And very reasonable rates. It is a real treat to go there and talk to him, and to marvel at this shop, as the building is from the 1800s and an historical site. But I wouldn't take my bicycles anywhere but there. Highly recommend.

This is indeed a BIKE store. The store looks a bit like what would happen if a bicycle factory exploded. Bikes are literally everywhere. Old, new, and quite a few rarer older bikes as well. There is really not enough room inside to walk around since stuff is piled willy nilly however the air is indeed of a bike shop run by a guy that has been working on bikes forever. The system seems to be ask and ye shall receive exactly what you need.
If you go expecting to find a glossy Sun and Ski Sports type bike shop you'll be disappointed. Disheveled but there was a system to the madness. I only needed a couple small things so I gave him a try and glad that I did. There is a glossy sporting goods store across the street but I could not imagine going there if Helotes Bicycle is open.
The owner is actually a pretty nice guy that really knows his stuff. I need to get my bike worked on so I'll very much be sure to bring it back to him for repairs. Very no nonsense kinda place. San Antonio is really lucky to have such a rare gem.

Hank runs a one-man shop in downtown Old Helotes. He really knows his stuff and is very reasonable. I trust him with my bike without a doubt.

Took my electric scooter with flat tire in and he spent time to figure out a bent stem and get me going again at NO CHARGE. Get business.

Hank is awesome. The place is setup like a beautiful disaster that can only come from an owner that is truly passionate about bicycles.

This is my most favorite Bike. shop of all time... Fond memories of riding all the great trails and hanging out with Hank back in the late 80's

I have purchased some parts and have had Hank do some service on my bike. Everything was always top-notch. I plan to go back for more service.

Old Town Helotes is the place to go

Well not much to say... there is a bunch of bikes. Its more of where bikes go to die. The care taker Hank does not seem interested in business especially if you say mountain bike.

The people who are in charge are disrespectful. Rude customer service. Horrible experience. Will not be coming back.

Not for real mountain bikers, maybe for the roadies, honesty can’t understand what the point of this place is. It’s a bike shop, but you can’t come in, or buy new bikes?

Owner said one price on a bike and that it would be ready In a couple of days . Went back and the price magically jumped 100 bucks. Very disappointed . Avoid!!!!!!!!
