I am continually impressed by the compassion and professionalism of the staff at this clinic. Over the past few years, they've provided excellent care and customer service for our beloved German Shepherd. Unfortunately, due to Maddi's advancing age, she required several visits to the vet in the past year. Last week, our family had to make the incredibly tough decision to put her down. We were devastated. However, the doctor and assistants were incredibly supportive and respectful throughout the process. They didn't pressure us in any direction but instead showed understanding and gave us the space to discuss our options as a family. The staff in the room with us gave Maddi so much love and made her as comfortable as possible. I’m so appreciative of everyone’s patience and the times they allowed us to say our goodbyes before and after the procedure. A few days ago, we went to collect her ashes, and we were deeply touched by the thoughtful gesture of including a card with Maddi's ashes. The heartfelt condolences from the staff at Hill Country Vet Clinic were truly touching and meaningful. While it may be some time before we welcome another pet into our lives, we are certain that we will always choose Hill Country Vet Clinic. Thank you all sincerely for your compassion and care.

Hill Country Animal Hospital is top-notch! They take fantastic care of my crew – Mack, Milo, Smokie, and Harley. The docs really know their stuff and show genuine care. The techs are super informative, and the front desk ladies are always

They always take care of my pups and explain things in a way I can easily understand (even when I am concerned over nothing). My dog is a senior now so I appreciate the care given to her to help ease her vet anxiety and make her life as healthy as possible.

Just love this place so far. They have all done an amazing job caring for our new puppy who was sick when we got her a month ago. They took quite a bit of time during each visit to answer all our questions, were very patient, and didn't make us feel rushed to get to their next appointment. The service has been so wonderful that I transferred my big boy over here, too. I know not everyone has the same experience, but this is ours. We're looking for a long relationship with Hill Country.

Dr. Ana was the best. She's caring and knowledgeable. The facility is spotless. The staff was so polite and kind. I could hear them "cooing" to the animals in the back. How sweet!

We do not have enough words to express how grateful we are to call Hill Country Animal Hospital our favorite place to get help for all our pets. Over the last 20+ years, we have trusted everyone from the front desk to the nurses and doctors to meet the needs of all our critters. We've had five dogs and two cats over the years, and I'm pretty sure we have received care from everyone at one time or another. One time, I brought a stray dog in and we all sat around on the floor playing with him because we were the only ones there and they made time for him. They have such an obvious passion for animals, even strays that need to be scanned for microchips.
A few days ago, our sweet boy Hunter the hound dog, ran full speed ahead with a large branch in his mouth, through the back gate. The branch caught on both sides of the gate, cracked in half, and Hunter suffered multiple mouth injuries, including a broken tooth. I knew they wouldn't be able to help him right away, but I called anyway. I was so wrong. Miraculously, they saw him, diagnosed his injuries, sedated him, pulled his tooth, sewed him up, and helped Hunter before the pain became unbearable. This is one of many times the good folks at Hill Country Animal Hospital have saved the day. We have only wonderful things to say about every experience we've had with all our animals. We will never go anywhere else with our sweet dogs and cats.

Excellent practice, and they took excellent care of our two dogs over the years. The front office staff was always responsive and quick to return emails/calls. The providers were attentive to concerns, and thorough.

My family and I have been coming here for years and the care our animals receive is unmatched. I truly believe the vets and staff love what they do. I moved over an hour away but still make the drive to this clinic because the care, empathy, and compassion my pets receive here cannot be found anywhere else.

Hill Country Animal Hospital has been taking care of my chocolate lab since he was 18 weeks old… 15 years later, they still get my number one approval for pet care. The team is thoughtful, invested in non invasive treatment, and offer supportive guidance as my fur baby ages. Thank you for being a trusted part of the caregiving process for my beloved Samson. Charlie (my dog) loves coming here because they're always so great with him (and they give him treats). Dr. Lovell and the AWESOME nurses and assistants here have been helping me care for Charlie since I adopted him from ACS with severe sarcoptic mange and a leg wound. They're patient, conscientious, thorough, and so incredibly kind. They know us, and I trust them.

I recently brought my new kitten in for a wellness check and vaccines and was so impressed by the facility and the team there. Dr. Peterson was awesome! He took the time to inform and educate, and make my new kitten feel comfortable during his exam. The rest of the team was very helpful and friendly. The visit was affordable as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment to other pet owners!

Dr. Krick is the very best! She not only understands cats, she actually is a Cat Butler herself. There is a HUGE difference between someone who 'trained to treat cats' and someone who actually has lived with and loved the ornery lil critters....... Knowledgeable, friendly, and proficient. Always amazing customer service. Nurses are very experienced and the doctors are kind and explain anything you need to know. You can tell they care for their customers and the pets they bring.

This place is a blessing. We have been bringing our French Bulldog Arnold here since we moved into San Antonio a year ago. We had amazing service here for the last year - I am proud to say Dr. Lovell is OUR vet. And today, she came through in a massive way.

However, today exceeded all expectations - her quick action literally saved our dog's life today. After a phone conversation expressing some concern, they were able to get me in on less than 2 hours' notice after discerning something more serious might be going on.

Within minutes (and I mean quick AND confident). Dr. Lovell was able to make a very quick and spot on diagnosis. She then immediately got to work finding us a surgeon. She ended up finding one that could take Arnold within the same 1-2 hours of our diagnosis. From the time I stepped into Hill Country Animal Hospital until the time our dog was admitted and prepping for surgery at the next clinic all occurred within about 4 hours.

Her diagnosis (without any sort of imaging) was the exact same one the surgeon later confirmed WITH an MRI. According to the surgeon, had we not acted on this as quickly, there may have been the possibility of permanent nerve damage, leading to a significantly decreased quality of life, and possible paralysis. The quick thinking and action of Dr. Lovell and Hill Country Animal Hospital avoided this tragedy.

I truly believe people have a calling in life. I believe Dr. Lovell has found hers - she is truly a gift. I am beyond thankful for her guidance today in saving our dog's life. She is a true guardian angel and voice for those who cannot speak (the animals), and we are lucky to have her.

To Hill Country Animal Hospital and all the staff: you truly epitomize and set what should be the standard of care for all veterinarian clinics. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

Dr. Peterson as always is very informative and kind not only to us but especially to our fur babies. I know that when our Vangie is being treated, she is getting the best care. The Staff is outstanding!

I brought my puppy to get his final set of vaccinations for the year and he vomited twice on the way home. I was so concerned that I called the office and they were quick to have us come back to see the doctor! Luckily it just ended up being an upset tummy, but I was so impressed with how the staff and doctor handled the situation.
I could tell they were busy but they still made sure my pup was seen as soon as possible! Many thanks to the incredible staff for all of their help and to his wonderful vet, Dr. Macias!!!
I will always come back because I trust the team to provide the BEST care for all of their patients!
