I can't say enough about the outstanding care my dog receives from Dr. Grant and the incredible team at The Animal Hospital of Smithson Valley! Dr. Grant's kindness, expertise and attentive listening makes her the perfect vet! I always feel confident in her judgement and my dog always improves under her treatment recommendations! -I simply don't know what I'd do without her. Nikki, who's always assisting when we visit is sweet, caring and always goes the extra mile. And shout out to Cathy at the front desk for her warmth, genuine concern and efficiency both over the phone and in person. I'm forever grateful to have found Dr. Grant and the AHSV team. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking the best veterinary care and a place where they treat you like family.

Awesome clinic! Our first time there and Dr. Grant took the time to listen and thoroughly exam my little dog. No pressure to have tests or treatments that weren't totally necessary. Clinic is very clean and friendly staff. This will be our new vet "home".

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Madigan and his team. I drive from San Antonio to see him. My dog can be challenging and Dr Madigan is patient and creative and always delivers excellent care to my dog. The entire staff is wonderful and prices are fair.

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Levenberg. I brought my cat to the clinic after an unfortunate mistreatment at the other vet. Dr. Levenberg was very knowledgeable, thorough, and extremely professional. My cat recovered quickly after the treatment, and I’m so grateful for that.

Smithson Valley auto Hospital is full of compassionate, caring and outstanding people. They were able to accommodate us and a last-minute with what we perceived as an emergency and give us peace of mind and assistance to our pup. Highly recommend, no butts.

Today 4 of our 7 dogs were porcupined. I called to see if they could be seen right away. I was told I would be called back once the receptionist checked with the docs as they were booked full. While waiting, I called two other vets just to have a back up plan and this was by far the cheapest quote I received. I was called back within 10 minutes and told to bring my babies in. 4 quill extraction procedures, 4 sedations and 8 medications for under $1000. My dogs and I are always treated so well. I’m so thankful for this whole crew.

So grateful for Dr Puype and everyone. Moving to Texas, I was so afraid I wouldn't find a good Veterinarian. I called so many and no one would fit me in. My Bella was biten badly and her foot huge. The staff took her in right away. Now my Maxie just passing was one of the hardest days of my life. From Cathy the office manager explaining how they do things. Dr Puype being so patient with us. Giving us the time we needed to get through putting our 16 yr old baby down. Even allowing us the privacy to grieve and go out the back door. I will never forget their kindness. You will love them. The care. Very rare these days.

I bring all of my pets plus my parent's pets to this veterinary hospital. Everyone there is very sweet and knowledgeable.

I have been taking my dogs to this vet for over 25 years. I went to two other vets in Bulverde before I found them. they have taken such good care of our doggies. Everyone is so kind and all concerns are taken care of. One of my chihuahuas has a heart murmur. He is 11 years old and romps about like a puppy!

Great clinic, from the front desk staff to Nikki, our tech, and Dr. Madigan spent so much time sharing his knowledge regarding our Chagas positive dog. He developed a 1year protocol for her involving daily pills and about 3 visits. It was well worth the hundred mile round trip to get the expertise regarding this awful parasitic disease.

I love this veterinary clinic! The staff is always so kind and courteous. The office has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The vet techs and Dr. always take great care of my dog and are very accommodating and transparent. Dr. Puype is an amazing and considerate veterinarian. I wouldn’t trust any other clinic or Dr. with my fur baby. I feel really blessed to have such a good vet considering my dog means everything to me. The front office staff has always been very upfront with cost of services and kindly answers all my questions and concerns. If you’re looking for a kind and compassionate office I recommended this clinic! You can rest easy knowing your beloved animal is in the best hands and care.

I love Dr. Z! Super knowledgeable and knows the details of the structure of the dog. I am old-school, so they have to put up with some of my quirks. I really appreciate that about them, making sure the dog is well cared for first and the customer is happy. I will recommend them ANY TIME!!!
