Absolutely amazing food and experience! Would highly recommend stopping here, beans were the best we’ve ever had!

First time to visit Fernando's in Castroville, and it was great! I had a mexican plate and hubby got the t-bone. We both had enough food for a meal the next day! We will definitely be going back to try other dishes!

Go on in there and try a T-bone and Shrimp Special! That piece of meat is No Joke..Service was good, Food was excellent and the Peice of that beautiful piece of meat Cant be Beat!! Driving put to Castroville to stop at Fernando's is going to be a weekly thing for us now.

This is one of those "hole in the wall" places that will blow your mind if you're a chicken fried steak lover. Simply the best I've had in years. So tender we actually cut it with a fork.

You can’t beat the service and food at Fernandos! They always make their customers feel like family, and their prices are very affordable. Where else in the area, other than a strip joint, can you get a 22 oz thick T bone with fries or a bake potato and a small salad for 14.99? You can’t.

Other items from the menu that are definitely worth trying: grilled shrimp plate (10.50), chicken friend steak, chicken and dumplings (my favorite!), chicken salad croissant, and all you can eat catfish on Fridays.

Something else I’d like to note; I first introduced my Dad to this place in 2008 or 2009 and he has visited a couple of times every month since then. When he got sick last year, Fernando Medrano reached out to me on FB to check on him, and let me know that he was praying for my family. At a time when businesses were hurting due to CV19, he still took the time to reach out and we really appreciated the thought.

We love this place, and enjoy dining with them. Stop by, they won’t disappoint!

The portions are big. I ordered country fried steak, and it filled the entire plate! They have been there 16 years and I had no idea! We drive past it all the time, but a friend reccomended it so we decided to check it out. The catfish is delicious as well! Everything was very tender. The onion rings could be a meal by themselves too. Got a half order, and the rings were like, the size of my hand. They were nice and hot and crispy! Had to giggle when I saw the salad that came with my steak though. (It's just lettuce and tomato). Will come here again.

Really good food! The original owner/chef (Fernando) passed away a month or so ago; his daughter has taken over the restaurant, and the quality of the food there is still as good as it was before.

One of the few must-eat restaurants on Castroville. Recommend the catfish.

We picked up the T-Bone special curbside. The thick steak was well seasoned and tender and shrimp was good too. This was all at a great price. Will definitely go back!

This place is awesome if your looking for a great family run restaurant... I call their service "homestyle"! Its all family and they act and treat you like one of their own.. food is delicious and price is unbelievably under priced... nothing but great things to say

Been coming here for several months now and also come on special occasions. Love all Fernandos Daily Specials and very reasonable prices especially there medium rare 22oz T-bones yummy the best steak in San Antonio. Family owned, operated and really down to earth people.

I had the 3-piece fish with fried and a small salad. The fish tasted good. Everytime we play ⛳ golf in Castroville Alsatian Golf Course we stop to eat in the way out. The owner and waitress get a 10 for their great service.

Awesome, great food, terrific service. Always want to try everything on the menu but I'm hooked on the fish. Light batter, tender inside. Absolutely the best anywhere. I swear I'm gonna try the giant chicken fried steak next. Or the burger or the steak.

I cant say enough about this place. Good food, big portions, cheap prices and some smiles... But the fish... Oh the fish, i stand by this mans fish. Best fish i have eaton anywhere. Hands down. Crispy light batter that packs flavor. He has an all you can eat on certain days, every plate/refill i get, the fish always tastes like it is cooked in fresh oil and those who deep fry anything know what i mean lol its worth a try, stop by there.

Found this little restaurant about 4 years ago. The owner, his daughter, and his girlfriend have a great personality and the place has daily castroville locals that eat there every day. Now about the food. I mean the best t-bone, chicken fried steak, and fish you can find. Very reasonable too. We live about 20 miles away and drive over just for dinner. Give them a try you will return for more.

You never know what to expect when you try a new place. This place was a surprise, the food was delicious, the service was great and the people were friendly. Its a small family owned spot but it can filled up quickly! Will be returning, we truly enjoyed our experience. Thank you guys!

We were just passing through town and decided to check it out. I was definitely a little skeptical but we gave it a try anyways. It is very small , however the welcoming and the service is not what you come across nowadays. Excellent service! Food was delicious . We will definitely go back

Very good home cooked food in large portions. We drive in from San Antonio for an evening dinner because we enjoy both the food and atmosphere. We’re always treated like family. Highly recommend!!

Great steak specials and.great Mexican cuisine. Owner is a fantastic guy who makes you feel like you are coming home every time you visit. Best tacos in the world and prices are great!

Love this place, food is very good and fresh every day and night, also love to know that they are Christian family, knowing that they have church service on Sunday morning, before he opens for business. Especially his prices are very affordable. You will never find a place like this anywhere else.
