Hemlock Trail

Rather short trail in Cooper's Rock State Forest, but still had interesting areas - neat and large trees, small creek, stairs, bridge. Easy hike, hour at most with stops for more exploring.

A hidden gem of greater Morgantown! Take the stairs down to the first creek during the summer to cool off in the shade.

If you venture beyond, this trail is beautiful and fairly well maintained. Most of the creeks have crossings but bring your boots. There’s a number of under/undocumented trails that can take you all the way to the archery range if you don’t mind a few hundred feet of climb.

This is a nice loop trail fairly easy with wooden foot bridges over creeks. Take your time and Soak in the serenity and peaceful feeling of the trees. Take the trail to the left and then up a slight hill the trail starts back down hill through a beautiful grove of Eastern Hemlocks and along a creek coming back to the beginning of the trail. We went just after a snow.

Hemlock Trail is a 1.7 mile loop trail that is located in Bruceton Mills, WV near the Coopers Rock Forest exit on I68. This trail has a variety of features for the leisure hiker. However, the trail is a little rocky in places and does have a set of stairs near the start of the trail. Part of the trail follows Little Laurel Run, which is sprinkled with small waterfalls. We hope to return in late May early June when the rhododendron are in full bloom and again in the fall to do some leaf peeping!

Absolutely beautiful. The old growth trees are fantastic and almost lend an enchanted feel.

We were with our toddler and only walked a short part of the trail but it was great. Tunnels made out of trees. Bridges over water. So picturesque.

A little hidden gem east of Morgantown. This is a nice place, lots of large old hemlocks to see. The trails are well maintained, and easy to traverse. There a couple of stream crossings, but the ones I came across had small bridges built.

This is a nice place to hike. The trail is a little rocky so be prepared with the right shoes. There is a beautiful creek with a wooded bridge to sight see. Lots of Rhododendrons!

Great little trail, slightly longer than a mile. Half of it hiking by the river, other half could use a trim but still easy to follow. Great trail for pups, with plenty of places for them to swim. Highly recommend!

Been a favorite for over a decade. Hidden gem! The trail is a loop, mostly easy going. A couple hundred yards in is a bridge over a small creek. Past the bridge, turn left or right. Either way- stay on the main trail and you'll end up where you started. My daughter, four years old, and I both love this one - beautiful!

Nice trail! I seen where people said this was about a mile trail but it’s closer to 2 or a little over but worth the trip. It was extremely dry so there was no water in the stream so we are going back because water will make it even better!

Beautiful trail short hike

Gorgeous trail along stream with nice moss covered large trees and cool rocks and cool breeze along the way. One of the best trails in the area and easy enough for a 2 or 3 year old.

Great hike with good trail conditions. Not a trail I'd recommend bringing young kids on.

This is by far one of my favorite trails in the Morgantown area. The scenery is breathtaking and my dogs love swimming the the creek!
