The Appalachian Hotel

We had 2 queen bed rooms that connected and it was perfect for our girls getaway. The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings!! Love that there isn’t any carpet in the hotel. It’s so clean and homey. And the water pressure in the shower was powerful! We wish we could have stayed more than one night. We all slept well. No complaints from any in our group! Oh and the restaurant was also great and the serving sizes were HUGE!!

This is the second time we've stayed here. The rooms are comfortable and large. The beds are comfortable. The only downside is the heating/ac unit is next to the bed in the suite, which makes the living space very cold.

The bathroom is spacious and the shower comfortable and clean. The king suite room is equipped with a mini fridge, small kitchen sink, and microwave. This made it very easy to prepare some of our own meals.

If you travel with a young child(ren) the suite works great, so long as you use their pack n play or bring your own floor bed/air mattress. The room layout allowed for us adults to put the small children to bed and stay up in our own space without disturbing them.

We weren't overwhelming pleased with the restaurant food price or quality but the staff were pleasant and attentive. We were able to get extra towels, trash service, bedding without any issue. The staff were quick to address any of our concerns. There are no breakfast options at the hotel. Walmart is across the street and McDonald's and Hardee's are 5 mins away.

This is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area and we would definitely stay again.

Traveled for a family reunion. The hotel was amazing! We felt like we were in the Yellowstone show by the amazing and beautiful western decor. The shower was all glass with a glass barn door and seat. Two queen size beds, beautiful hardwood floors throughout. Very relaxing and clean!

My sister and I came to Kingwood to visit our ailing father. We heard many good reports about the Appalachian Hotel and they were all true. We stayed for two nights. Wonderful experience!! The room was just perfect and super clean, with beautiful appointed amenities. Shelby, Lacy and everyone treated us kindly. Would gladly stay again.

So we stayed in here to attend the WVU graduation ceremonies. A bit outside of Morgantown , but way more reasonably priced. Looks to be very new. Small town lodge feel. Rooms are huge! Only small thing for us, beds weren't super comfy. Also note you have to check in before 11pm, no staff after that. Cute place , would definitely recommend.

After a long day of meandering up the Cheat River backroads, we found ourselves in Kingwood around 8PM. Several cute inn options in the area, along with a few motels, but nothing struck my fancy until I checked out this location! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Check in was quick and painless, as was booking the room over the phone while I was grabbing dinner. Th standard king rooms are spacious and simple, keeping the rustic theme minimal and modern. I loved the red accents!
As far as we are concerned, any negative reviews of this hotel that I skimmed through are void of any true reasoning and should be disregarded. For a new, small hotel in a small town, this is an excellent choice for anyone passing through the North Central and Cheat River region of WV.

Kingwood struck gold with this beautiful hotel. When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly front desk person. When I looked around, the lobby is so inviting, love the fireplace. And what a surprise when I got to the room. It was huge with a microwave and mini-refrigerator. Love that the sink is outside the bathroom and the bathroom has the most amazing shower. The beds are very comfortable and the TV large! We will be staying here from now on when we come to Kingwood!!

Excellent clean room,friendly service, and wonderful pub and restaurant so you don't even have to travel once you arrive. I wish every hotel was as nice as this one!!! I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!!

An absolutely wonderful experience! We were greeted by a knowledgeable, polite and efficient hostess at check in! The rooms are beautiful and spacious with fancy soaps and shampoos and Wolfgang Puck coffee. An awsome game room and steakhouse w/bar. The bartender was polite and friendly. They had a military discount, which is always appreciated!

From the moment my family walked in we were impressed. Beautiful building, Beautiful room, all sorts of details to show how much they care for their customers. Great customer service to help us get an idea of whats around the area since we are not from around here. Fun arcade for both our 6 year old daughter and us adults. Great experience all around! Definitely where we want to stay again when we come to the area!! I honestly can't say one bad thing! Thank you guys for a great visit! ☺☺

Stayed here on a trip through town for a night with both of my dogs. Room was very spacious, clean and cozy. Would definitely stay again

Without a doubt, this was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and was a sight for sore eyes. Easily affordable, gorgeous rooms, and comfortable lodging.

Outstanding room, very clean facilities and a friendly staff.
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant. However, I did visit the bar area.

The bartender was great and the drink prices were compatible to the surrounding area.

My only complaint is the thin walls. Soundproofing would be a bonus.

If you need a place to stay within an hour of this hotel, do it. Spacious room, cleaner than I could ever want and the staff are friendly!

beautiful accommodations,. There were two items I feel should be brought to the attention of the manager(s) or owner(s). One is no towel bars in the bathroom to hang your wet wash clothes and towel, which were nice and fluffy. Second is the room we were in, 103, the space between the bottom foot board and the hvac unit were way too close causing bruised legs etc. This was the standard queen two bed unit. The TV works great once you got out of the streaming mode, the bed slept great and the greatness goes on and on. These accommodations are something the area has needed for a long time.

Well, i'm going to start off by saying that, it is a very great place to be as of staying, eating, and having fun. We offer the game room for the kids as well as the mini golf course. I also work there as a chef of the kitchen which is awesome. The food is fantastic and created on its own food menu. The family will live this place. This is a place like no other. I love being and working there with a very warming family that owns the business. They are family like no other. They are very beautiful people to be around. You got to see it to believe it.

Awesome hotel , my husband and I enjoyed our stay. The bathroom were big and comfortable, big tv everything looks brand new, super clean . The staff were friendly. We definitely coming bag

Awesome new hotel. Nice upscale in-room features. Nice plank flooring instead of carpeting will help keep the rooms fresh and clean. Linens are high quality. Very courteous staff!! (Across from Walmart)

Very clean. Roomy. New. Fun arcade. Cool air. I liked the make up towel as a perk for usage. Nice big shower. Stayed in king suite. Restaurant next door which is fantastic for meals and brunvh on sunday. Bring your own breakfast for most days. Definitely will return

The place is new, clean, very charming, different from big chain hotels and employees are just so nice people. Large rooms. Hot water starts right away and stays hot.
Their restaurant is also great! Felt like big city food and interior with a small town hospitality.
