This place is awesome! Amazing food and awesome people. Owner is a kind man came up to the table and converse with us and had a good time. You can see the heart and love he has serving the dishes he created. The server Ashlyn was sweet and made sure we were taken care of. By the time my drink was getting low she was on the way over with a new one. Keep up the awesome work! If you are in town here you have to stop and experience it for yourself! 12 out of 10 that's how much I enjoyed my food and time here!

One of my favorite places to do brunch. Great food and the atmosphere is AMAZING! It’s so cool to because in between greeting guests, I’ve seen the owners help clear tables, cook, serve and take out trash. It’s rewarding to see how the entire staff moves as one.

First time dining in on Saturday May 28,2023 and it was a great experience. We waited to be seated for two for about 40minutes which was to be expected since we didn’t make a reservation and it was a Saturday. The customer service was amazing from entering to place our names on the waiting list to the time we left after eating our meal. The food was delicious we had the salmon with broccoli and the glazed pork chops with greens and white rice. We also had the shrimp dip and strawberry salad! There was a gentleman walking around asking everyone how their experience was going which added to the excellent customer service we received. Rated 5STARS see pics!

One of the best Grouper Sandwiches I’ve ever had! I recommend it blackened. Their sweet potatoes fries go excellent with the grouper sandwich! Love their fried green tomatoes too, and if you like spicy their gumbo is delicious! Great customer service too! Mrs. Amanda at the bar is awesome! We decided to eat at the bar, and she was wonderful, knowledgeable and kept checking on us. Very sweet and welcoming. We’ll be back!

This is one of the BEST restaurants in Tuscaloosa! Today I stopped in for a quick snack, however they have a variety of menu items. One of the managers always stops by my table to check on me to make sure I was satisfied with the order. If you are ever in the area, you have to check this place out! Friendly staff, fast service, and great food! Location downtown and only about 8 minutes from the University of Alabama.

Today was my first time visiting this restaurant. I am so glad I decided to try it. The atmosphere was great, even during the day. The food was amazing . The appetizer (shrimp dip) was enough to serve two people. And the service was super fast. I arrived at 12:02 and was leaving at 12:38. Our waiter was friendly and I found out later he was an owner. Owners cleaning tables and bringing out food.....let's just say I'm hooked.

Great dining experience! Julie was our server and she was amazing and very attentive. Fried green tomatoes were exceptional. My fish tacos were large. I could only eat one. The vegetables aren't cooked with pork so that was a plus. My friend enjoyed the whole wings so much we ordered some to go. Definitely, looking forward to returning when I am in Tuscaloosa. The owner also came by to make sure everything was to our liking. Nice ambiance and music too.

The atmosphere Ahh-mazing! The food delicious! Great drinks, excellent service. Oh and the music… I felt like I was at a BEST of the 80’s concert. If ever I’m in Tuscaloosa again, this will be the first place I visit.

Went for the first time this weekend, and the food did not disappoint. Everyone loved their food. I will most definitely make the trip again, just to come here and eat. See pictures for reference. We also had fried green tomatoes and shrimp dip, but did not get a pic.
My only complaint is the chairs., they are not very comfortable. I will bring my yard chair in and eat.

As a Tuscaloosa native Im a little embarrassed that it took me so long to visit here, and it was even recommended to us by our Scottish friends! The atmosphere was cool and a mix of modern and industrial. The music wasn't too loud and the prices were standard for a sit down restaurant.

I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of collard greens. I've never had collard greens with so much flavor and not a hint of bitterness! The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfectly, and the sauce for the grits was a perfect addition. The grits were soft, but not *too* soft. And my leftovers made a perfect lunch for the next day!

While we were dining, one of the owners was sweeping and cleaning tables, while also making sure to visit every table to greet them.

I have absolutely no complaints about this place, and I'll definitely be back!

I love everything about this place. The atmosphere and service were top-tier! It was my first visit, and our server Ashley was amazing. It's a black owned establishment that made the experience that much better for me. I had the catfish with a side of collards and cheese grits. The fish was fried and seasoned to perfection, not to mention the house made tartar sauce!!! The collards were seasoned like nothing I've ever tasted. So savory and absolutely made with love. The cheese grits were so creamy!
In other words, do yourself a BIG favor and get there NOW!!!!

UBK will forever be one of my favorite dining spots. The atmosphere is top notch & the food is phenomenal. Grover is one of my faves & I always enjoy cracking a joke with him when I visit! These people & this place are amazing! I highly recommend UBK! You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely awesome experience on a Saturday night. Parking was rough but we parked in the free garage not even a 5 min walk. Got there at 8, was told wait wld be 45mins. They provide wait seating(which is rare for the downtown restaurants). Wait was less then 30mins. Waitress immediately introduced herself and took drink and appetizer orders. It was pretty packed but they were on it. Great space between tables as well. Good and drinks were amazing! Food came out hot and fresh! I highly recommend the Sunbean cocktail, buffalo dip the chips are great by themselves, and the catfish with the macaroni! Awesome soft RnB music playing sat a viceroy nice mood. Will be back Very soon!

wowee is this place great! unique and pleasant atmosphere, great drink options, and the food was absolutely on point. i am absolutely in love with the collard greens, they were just packed with flavor! really won’t hesitate to go back because the rest of the menu looked outstanding!

My wife and I visited this wonderful establishment! We both enjoyed the Buffalo cauliflower wings as a starter. My wife ordered crab cakes as her entree, while I ordered the shrimp and grits with cheese. But since I have a seafood allergy, I substituted the shrimp for blackened catfish. The food was great and fresh . The crab cakes were so fresh to whereas I could not sit next to my wife while she indulged in the greatness of the seafood without my allergies acting up. We finished our entrees with a brownie and ice cream for dessert along with banana pudding -which need more cookies and less bananas- . Everything was great !! The owner is amazing !

I would DEFINITELY give more stars to this place if I could. I was pleased with everything well before the food came. The older historic building and decor with subtle lighting was lovely. I was greeted with a smile from the hostess and seated; my waitress shortly came over with a smile. She was on point the entire visit. My tea was perfect...not too sweet and not too bitter. I ordered the cheese grits and fried fish ( allergic to shrimp...hence no shrimp for me). I loved that tartar sauce, and it was the best one that I have ever had. I never thought to take pictures. I guess I was eating too hard. Sorry...But, I will be back and will do a better job with the picture taking. My bestie from college had the pork chops and waffles. She was pleased with her choice as well. **What impressed me the most though was the fact that the person who served my dish to me, who checked on me and my friend along with the other tables, who helped clear the tables alongside this older man was actually the owner of the restaurant. I found that part out later once I researched the place because I was so pleased with my experience. I have been a waitress before, so I notice some aspects people who have never worked at a restaurant might overlook. The fact that this man helped with every aspect speaks volumes to me about his character and how he feels about his workers and customers!!!**

We tried the Cowboy burger, Salmon, Gumbo, Mac and Cheese, and Collards. While the food was good, it leaned towards being overly salty for our taste. The standout was the impeccable service – 100% spot on, and Ashley Ryan at the bar was exceptionally attentive, consistent, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very pleasant. For this reason, we plan to return, opting for a lighter meal option next time.

Ate there last night and the food was very good. Service was great. Had a party of eight and we were able to get seated very quickly. Tried two different appetizers: Bacon Bombs and Fried Green Tomatoes - both were delicious. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. The toppings of shrimp and Conecuh Sausage were plentiful and very tasty. There was also enough sauce to ensure I had sauce with each bite of the dish throughout. Finished it off with Key Lime pie which I thought was good but a little on the mild side. However, they did include a lime with it so you could spritz a little on the pie if you wanted to give it more tartness. My wife had the fried pork chops and collard greens and said they were delicious as well. Overall, a great meal. Only issue (which had nothing to do with the restaurant) was trying to find parking. Had to circle the block before I found something but wasn't a big deal - just be sure to allow extra time for parking if you are meeting folks. Will definitely be back.

Such a fun place to eat in downtown T-Town on The Strip. Great owners who are very personable and attentive to their customers. Bartenders are good and make up some great concoctions! Food is flavorful, interesting, and served up hot!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! It’s the all the best you could have in a restaurant. Amazing food, good prices, good music, great servers, clean and beautiful environment…ALL OF IT!!!! The food is so so good and cheap compared to all other restaurants.You can get a meal for $14. Also this restaurant is black owned, which makes me want to support more!! I would 1000% recommend you come here!! My absolute favorite food place now.
