Ordered through Doordash and it was worth the money to put it simply! The cornbread is so fresh that it dissolves in your mouth. The pineapple jerk ribs are to die for since the meat practically falls off the bone and the sauce flavor is exquisite. The collared greens were warm and their seasonings were delicious! I'm not a native to Alabama nor too familiar with soul/Jamaican food but I can say with confidence that this restaurant is amazing! Definitely worth ordering from or visiting their restaurant in person.

This is my third time eating here and I love their food and atmosphere. I haven’t been disappointed on neither visit so I’ll definitely continue to dine here. Below are a few pics from my most recent visit. I had the jerk chicken, rice and beans and cabbage delicious, my man had to the jerk chicken pasta which didn’t need any seasoning and tasted amazing and we had a side of okra which I love because they are always crispy like I prefer okra to be!!! We sat at the bar and the bartender gave great customer service, Thank You Ma’am. If you are in the area you must visit! In addition I currently serve in the Army and there was a plaque of a fallen Soldier displayed so I did some research and found out the Soldier that passed started the restaurant with her husband she passed in 2019 of breast cancer and served in the USArmy. Thank you for your service ma’am! Continue to rest peacefully. They also give military discount if you ask which I assume was in her honor!!!

Great meal! I ordered fried catfish with the sides steam cabbage and rice and peas. The catfish was battered and fried just like my grandma used to cook fish. Loved it! And the sauce in the rice and peas went perfectly with the fried fish. Excellent flavor! The cabbage was really good as well. And it all tasted so good with a cold beer on a hot Alabama day! The service was great and everyone was friendly! I would definitely recommend.

I have nothing bad to say about this experience. The food was amazing and our waitress was very attentive around 4 o’clock on a Friday. I had the pineapple jerk chicken wings with okra and plantains. I cleared my plate because it was so good. The chicken fell off the bone, the okra was fried perfectly and the plantains had a great flavor. We were already planning what to eat next time we are there because the whole table enjoyed it so much.

The atmosphere is absolutely great on a Friday night in august! I know it may differ with the football traffic soon, but it was great loud live music 90’s - early 2000’s r&b / pop. (Just my style) but I was overwhelmed with how good the food was we had the curry chicken and the Rasta pasta with jerk chicken and both loved it!! The people were all extremely nice and it’s not just like all the typical grill/ bar type restaurants in the area it is a whole experience!

So I have an unhealthy love for oxtails so anytime I can find a place that serves them, I'm there! Reggae Flava is a new place in Downtown Tuscaloosa. As with everywhere else, you must wear a face mask upon entry. The menu has all the good traditional Jamaican cuisines and specialty cocktails. I ordered of course the oxtails with rice and plantains. I cleared my plate.

October Update: They recently introduced a Sunday menu. I ordered the chicken with collards, yams, fried okra, and rice. 😋

I started eating before I could take the pic, lol. My staple from here is the jerk chicken (so tender) with white rice and cabbage. I tried the strawberry swirl cream cheese pound cake today. Not sure how I'll avoid going back tomorrow for more! Locally owned and operated. Great food. Friendly service. What more could you ask for?

My absolute favorite restaurant, Reggae Rome and Reggae Flava LLC. I’m going at least once, OK maybe twice a week... ok you got me, it’s probably 3x a week😂, but I can’t help it. The food is authentic and delicious and the customer service is superb! I’m just glad I no longer have to make that drive to GA, to get this kind of Caribbean food that I love. If you are ever in my city, it is a MUST that you stop by and check these great people out.

Ordered to go, food was ready upon arrival. The taste of the rice an beans wasn't what I expected, it had a taste like perfume was on it an it was spicy. The cabbage was season ok. An the oxtails was ok, was expecting way more flavor. Wanted to try curry goat bt it's only available on Fri &sat I probably go to try that an the curry chicken.

As an island girl...I'm so happy to have a Jamaican spot in town. The food is good! Oxtail is my favorite and I've had there a few times. It's definitely soft and falls off the bone just how I like but the seasoning is a little lacking. Perhaps this is to cater towards people who are not used to island spices but this is the only critique I have. Will definitely be trying other dishes soon. Also I've tried to get fried plantain on several occasions and they are always out. This makes me very sad!

My first time here and I'll be back everytime I come to Tuscaloosa. When I say the flavors and aromas are amazing it's no exaggeration. I even loved their black eyes peas and I hate black eye peas. I got the oxtails which were perfectly prepared and seasoned to a savory fall off the bone perfection. The peas and rice is a delicious take on a dirty rice style but with less heat and a deeper island flavor maybe with a hint of cinnamon? The mashed potatoes were just salty enough to cut through the heavy semi sweet gravy that tops it. Finally I tried the callaloo which had a nice toothy bite despite being well stewed and a fresh vinegar taste to clear the palette.
The location is nicely appointed with some chill music playing and of course a ton of Bob Marley and reggae art.
The service too was fantastic very fast able to explain anything on the menu and really good drinks at the bar.
Please give this place a try if you haven't become a regular if you have they're fantastic.

Very good food. The waitress missed her tip. We ordered out but wanted to give a nice tip anyway. She shoved the food in our hands, not friendly at all and then turned around to go sit in a booth turning her head from us. We stood there, then just said oh well she missed her nice tip.
