Student Health Center and Pharmacy

Visited the SHC, once last year and so far once this year and always have a great experience. Making an appointment is so quick and easy and the staff is so friendly and great! So glad to have a nice and small health center on campus that cares!

I recently visited the UA Student Health Center and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the quality of care I received. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful in addressing my concerns. They took the time to listen to my symptoms and provide me with a thorough diagnosis.

The facility itself was clean and well-maintained, and it had the most modern equipment. The wait times were minimal, and I was seen by a doctor in a timely manner.

I was also impressed with the variety of services offered at the health center. They had a wide range of specialists on staff and offered a variety of treatments and therapies.

Overall, I had a positive experience at the UA Student Health Center and would highly recommend it to others. The staff and facilities were top-notch, and I felt well taken care of during my visit.

I went here with a cough, ended up being pneumonia. Dr. Joseph was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The nurse that I saw before her was also wonderful. I was a walk in and I was seen very quickly. They're all very efficient here.

Just wanted to say that I had such a wonderful experience with the nursing staff at 1pm today. I went in to get a COVID test (I'm vaccinated but sick and wanted to get tested) and the women who helped me were so kind and calm. I didn't catch their names but I just wanted to say that they were amazing and I appreciate all of their hard work.

The SHC deserves a better rating than they have on here. I guess only the upset people post reviews. On my first visit today, they were fast (relative to other clinics), professional, and it was an easy experience. It's also convenient that there's a pharmacy already there.

Saw Dr. Joseph today. She’s great. Listened to me and sent an Rx over to the pharmacy in the lobby. They had it out in less than five minutes. Always easy at this pharmacy and the people who work here are courteous. I used to be a pharm tech and know how difficult that can be sometimes.

After leaving UA to go to another university. I realized how good service and staffs we had at UA. I was very satisfied with the service at UA student health center. The staff is very nice and respectful. That is not the same in other universities. One more thing, the building is so nice and clean.

Fast and friendly. Felt like a regular doctors office with some added convenience considering they have a pharmacy in the building. I have no idea why people have given such negative reviews but as far as I am concerned they have excellent service.

DD went to SHC Tuesday after suffering shortness of breath. Dr. Hunter noticed heart rate was high, didn’t attribute it to just being sick, and ordered an EKG. DD was in AFIB and she caught it. Not only that, she called and checked on DD twice while she was at UAB getting shocked back into rhythm. Dr. Hunter went above and beyond and that does WONDERS for this mom’s peace of mind!!!

It's luck of the draw for good/bad servicing, I guess I've been lucky from what I hear (they were very receptive to me and helpful). Make sure you get there in the morning hours if you can, they are a lot less busy.

The nurse practitioner was sweet, patient, and eager to answer my questions. The staff were all kind and efficient. I am pleased with the service I received.

Super convenient for students, staff is willing to answer all of your questions. Typically short wait times, and the ability to charge to your student account is helpful.

Went in for immunization shots wasn’t crowded at all, staff was nice and friendly and the process was fast.

One of the best experiences I've had with a Doctor. Seemed to really know what he was talking about and didn't explain it to me like I was dumb.

The pharmacy has always been quick at getting prescriptions filled and able to answer my questions.
