Great place to relax, plenty of parking. It's a nice little lake right in the city. The 0.8 mile path around the lake is especially nice to walk, jog, or bike.

We love walking around Kaufman Lake. Many places to fish and a paved road to walk on as you go around the lake.

Nice place to walk your dogs or just stretch your legs. Right off Springfield Ave. Good place for fishing or grilling, they even have a fire pit. There is a shortcut by the railtrack that leads you to Powell Park if interested. There's some street graffiti art through the path leading there, so be aware that young people tend to hangout in that area, which is off the main path and isolated.

Nice little park on a pond. Pretty chill spot to come sit and eat my lunch and watching the ducks on the water. There are multiple trash and recycling cans, so it's typically always clean and we'll maintained. Also has some decent trails you can walk/run round the water.

Beautiful weather loads and loads of geese everywhere! So tame and what was crazy is they begged for food!! The lake was nice and they have a few picnic tables if you’re wanting to have a picnic!!

The walk around the little lake is very nice and not too long. The place is also good for jogging. There is plenty of parking and also some spots for fishing. We like the place in summer and fall most and bring the kids, stroller, and a scooter. Everything is paved so walking around with that kind of gear is no problem. The kids also love the little cartoon character float!!

Kaufman Lake has a mostly paved trail that runs all the way around it. It isn't anything fancy, but it is nice for a quick walk. There is also a trail that takes you from Kaufman all the way to Parkland College. There is a brief unpaved section under the I-72 overpass, but everything else is paved. Many people won't think much of this trail but for the unique and fun stuff, skip to the last paragraph of this review.

I like the trail that goes from Kaufman lake to Parkland College. At the north end of the lake, you can take a gravel path along the railroad tracks under the interstate where it joins up with a paved trail that goes all the way to Parkland. Along the way, you pass another nice lake with a paved path all the way around it, and parkland has some paved paths around all the sports fields and the disc golf course. You can also park at parkland or by the lake in the middle which has a small lot on the south side of Bradley Ave right across from parkland.

Many people won't think much of this trail, but I think it is cool to walk under the interstate and along the railroad tracks. There is also a small wooden bridge that the railroad tracks go over that is so short you almost have to duck under it. These tracks are still active but the trains run slow. It is quite an experience to be a couple feet under a moving train if you are fortunate enough to see one... Heading south, back towards Kaufman, the sidewalk ends at the south overpass. There is a creek that runs under the overpass. The sidewalk used to go under as well years ago. Now it is washed out, but when the water is low, you can still walk through the tunnel. The sidewalk picks up on the other side, but it is on the opposite side of the creek from the loop around the lake. You can follow the creek south and there is a foot bridge that takes you back over to the lake.

There is also some old concrete structure in the creek between the overpasses that is pretty easy to climb on/across. Most people won't want to go under the overpass through the tunnel, so you can also follow the tracks under the overpass. The overpasses have ever changing graffiti that is pretty interesting as well if you like that sort of thing. I have attached a couple pictures.

Great place to fish, picnic or go for a walk. The park district does a great job maintaining the lake and the porta potty clean. As a mom though I would not recommend that you walk the back of the park trail headed to Bradley later in the evening, it is very secluded, and I have found shady characters in the back area. The highway underpass creates dangerous spots were people can hide.

Beautiful spot to fish or picnic or take a nice walk. Free to the public, open from dawn til dusk. Usually a great place to watch Canada geese and ducks, but this year there just aren't any. Last year there was a snow goose, but she didnt come back this year, either. 🙁

Great place to enjoy natue. You can walk around the pond, I've noticed numerous people bird watching which is very cool. Fishing is allowed and there is several spots that are very easy to get down by the water to get a close up view. I've seen people with remote control boats in the water as well as homemade sailboats.

Go there all the time for lunch when I'm in town. But I could widen the turn pain going in the park. For it is a little tight when u meat a car comming in or going out please fix the drop off at the garbage can that u can drive up to. It is getting to be quite a drop off. All and all it's a great place... Love it

I love relaxing at Kaufman Lake. Garbage people throw plenty of trash around but you frequently see people out there cleaning up. Myself, I randomly pick up stuff when I walk as well. We love watching the geese, and the well fed beaver on the back trail!

This park is a breath of fresh air. I've come here to do group cookouts multiple times, exercised on the walkway around the lake, or played various yard games in there oversized open areas. It's centrally located and easy to get to from main roads and always well-maintained.

A nice lake with a paved path that goes around it. People do leave trash behind (shame on them), but it's a good place to take a walk and there are always ducks, geese, and all kinds of birds hanging around.
