La Bamba Mexican Restaurant

This is my favorite place to eat in the world. I've never had a better tasting burrito. I ate there regularly for 12 years, at least once a week for 5 of them until I moved away. I usually order the Super Burrito, Combination (Pork & Steak) with beans, cheese, sour cream, rice, and Regular Sauce. Light red/brown sauce is mild. The Red sauce is HOT. Green sauce also has excellent flavor. My parents always got chicken and my brother gets chorizo. Fresh avocado, tomato, lettuce, and onion are also available. The flavor here is impossible to duplicate.

My review is based on a friend getting me burrito:

I absolutely loved it! The size of these burritos are huge, they’re not cheap on the ingredients or condiments, and they’re as fresh tasting an hour later as they are on the spot.
I had ground beef, jalapeños, tomato, lettuce burrito.
I will be visiting in person most definitely.

Still tastes like the first time I had it. Wish I could get it more often but I get it when I can lol. The way they season the meat or something...my favorite burrito

Oh Man!!! This is a hidden gem right here! Theses are "Real burritos"! Stopped thru late at night heading to my terminal. Stumbled upon LaBamba's. Let me tell you this you're definitely gonna love the taste & size. I would've showed the picture of my burrito but it's already gone!

Loved it back in college and still love it today! Best burritos around with simple yet tasty ingredients, and NO rice in them (as God intended). 😎

Very good food! I love a super steak burrito! Finally got my kid to try the chicken tacos and she realized she's a fan also. Also had the super nachos and they were very good as well! Good service and pretty quick!

I've been coming to this business ever since it moved to Champaign Illinois back in the 90s early at that still a popular customer I even know the owners and their food is amazing that's why they're called la Bamba's ..burritos as big as your head

I’ve lived in Los Angeles, home of some of the best Mexican food this side of Mexico, for 20 years and I’m a foodie. No burrito I’ve ever had in the US compares to La Bamba. Ignacio, who works there, has been there for over 20 years, and he tells me the secret is not to change the quality ingredients or the recipe when it works. Try it, you’ll see.

Hadn't had a burrito for a long time. It did not disappoint!

I am a huge fan of Mexican food & I love finding new, nonfranchise restaurants to try. La Bamba did not disappoint!!! The portions are enormous & we got 2 meals apiece out of the burritos. The staff were welcoming, pleasant, and eager to make sure we left pleased and satisfied. The owner was working the drive thru window & it is evident he takes pride in his restaurant & providing quality food AND service. The flavor of everything was fabulous! La Bamba is definitely worth a try if you have the chance & once you've had it you'll definitely be back again!

I have never had made one complaint to this restaurant, they never disappoint.... I drove a hour for Perfection... love them and have for 30 years...

We went late. It was around 130 am. I always try to hit la Bamba when I'm in town. I was surprised the lobby was open. We went in and there were two gentlemen working. Both were very friendly. Food is always great at la Bamba. I got a regular burrito and it was as big around as your upper forearm. I'll keep coming back and always recommend la Bamba!

Why does taco bell exist when there is la bamba? I havent gone out to eat since covid started since i am picky with everything. Part of me just wants to know what to expect with my purchases. Most everywhere else the price jacked up and the quality dropped. La bamambas is an exception as it was as good as it was when i last had it 5 years ago, and the quality never dropped over the 15 years since i started eating there. Also the staff is great. They were patient with me despite being indecisive fish out of water who has not eaten out for literal years. I cant imagine anywhere else with this quality of food, especially for the price, not even el toro, and i love el torro. Once you go here you will train your taste buds to identify taco bell as being inedible. Youre welcome.

A great place for a filling and delicious burrito. The red sauce is homemade and the perfect mix of spice and flavor. I recommended La Bamba with no hesitation whatsoever.
