The cocktails were amazing. Would definitely return to try others. Everyone loved their dinner entries as well. So those two things were great but to top it off our server was amazing. An all around great experience. Thanks we will definitely return again!

Food was amazing! Server gave us recommendations and they were stellar. I had a mocktail, my husband had one of the whiskey cocktails and both were awesome. We shared the hot chicken baos (amazing), I had a salmon salad, my husband had the maize and mash burger with Mac n cheese, and we had broccolini on the side. Everything was delicious. Hidden gem!

I had the pleasure of finally checking out this place and boy was I blown away! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The atmosphere alone, was incredible. It is cozy and dark. Feels like an intimate small town pub. Perfect for a date night or girls night out! The service was timely and attentive and not overbearing. And the food...holy cow! It was everything I hoped for! Simple menu with fresh ingredients, you can't go wrong! Lastly, their drink menu is delightful as well, with a nice variety of whiskey. Make sure to get yourself an old fashioned, it's worth it.

All around great place in downtown Glen Ellyn! The ambiance, food, drinks and service are top notch. The gentleman behind the bar in the early afternoon was super cool, and made our experience special. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you!

Walking in the hostess and waitress were great about getting us a table, and making sure our food and drinks were correct and came out fast. The food itself was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. Will come back soon.

This place is very cool. They have a wide selection of unique whiskeys and a great menu. Though it's not on the menu, they will let you do a flight of 4, 1oz pours for $30. Not bad! Their burger was amazing and my wife said the chicken sandwich was fantastic. They did a big ice cream sundae for my birthday too, so that's a plus! Great ambiance and friendly staff ties it all together. Thanks!

The food hits the mark, although we wish for a broader menu selection. We were big fans of the Philly Cheesesteak, which sadly got removed from the menu. Nevertheless, our affection for this place remains strong, and we'll definitely keep coming back. 🥪❤👍

Super tasty and very friendly staff. Our waiter was incredibly nice and made me want to come back just for the hospitality. Beautiful interior and the food is good. I got the turkey sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese and it was amazing. The raspberry mustard was awesome and the bread was toasted perfectly. Definitely will come back.

Stopped in for a Friday lunch n beer and was not disappointed. The spicy chicken bao bun was on point.
Fantastic beer and cocktail and whiskey selection. The only reason I didn't include wine is because I didn't actually look at the wine list so I can't say but I would expect it to be pretty darn good as well.
Course the weather was nice and we wanted to sit outside but unfortunately the outside seating was full. No matter indoors is just as nice, really nice ambiance inside. I will be back and look forward to it.

We shared short rib poutine and cauliflower tots. We all enjoyed the flavors. For my dish, I had Veggie burger (I chose salad as the side) that came with nice crunchiness to the patty made of mushrooms, pink aesthetic on top between the buns, marking the freshness of the presented plate. Most importantly, the right balance of mouth ambience.

The atmosphere inside the venue added to the modern bar like and cozy feel of this social gathering place.

I hadn’t been in a couple of years. I am a pescatarian and didn’t remember much on the previous menu that appealed to me. That is all changed. Pictured is the most delicious Kung pal cauliflower and a darn good old fashion to boot.

Stopped in after dinner to get drinks and dessert. We tried the craft cocktails: G.O.A.T. and Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog, and also had a Brownie dessert (added ice cream to make it into a Sundae!) and although the drinks were not typical of what we normally would order, we enjoyed everything else about Maize + Mash! The ambiance, service, and the dessert were incredible! We were offered an opportunity to change out our drinks since they were stronger than what we are used to (beer or wine drinkers), but opted to stick through and continue sipping on them. To me, the G.O.A.T. has a definitive taste of meat off the grill (from the bacon flavor) and the Hound Dog required more of the Banana Liquor for me to continue to sip it. I will definitely be back as the food on the menu looks incredible, and I want to try their popular drink-Bubbles + Bramble, as well as Lady in the Purple Dress. I love bistros that put the dining experience on the level that Maize + Mash has…food and drinks are the experience, and happy customers is the goal. For a big city girl, this bistro in downtown Glen Ellyn has me HOOKED! Can’t wait to return!

This Glen Ellyn gem was on my list to review for a long time. Finally made it there for lunch and was surprised by the delicious food and meticulously prepared cocktails. If you're a whiskey or a bourbon lover you must try this place. I will definitely be visiting this place again. Highly recommended, great date spot or hanging with friends. Great spot! The interior is cozy and moody and creates an intimate vibe. The cauliflower tots and Cobb salad were excellent (and I’m not usually one to appreciate cauliflower as a substitution). The food was as tasty as it was pretty.

Street parking is very limited, but there is a free parking garage just a few doors down.

One very small gripe: we had to ask for refills.

Overall, we had a great meal and this is a spot I will mention to friends. Definitely check it out.

This is my favorite bar in the greater Chicagoland area. Top notch cocktails, huge 400+ whiskey selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff and the best food! Plus beautiful downtown!

Charcuterie was excellent--amazing smoked duck. I had the tuna steak salad and it was quite good.

This place has great food, all of it. On top of that, the drinks are amazing. Their own spin-off(s) of the typical cocktails are in a league of their own and creative.

Very charming little restaurant bar with great drinks. The ambiance is cozy and dim and fun. The food is delicious and employs novel and unique, yet familiar and exciting combinations of flavors. The back part of the dining room is a cozy little loft far away from the bar.

Amazing selection of whiskey and bourbon. The flight is definitely my suggested go to. Food was delicious. Had the short ribs and bourbon bbq wings. Both were excellent. The burger and chicken sandwich looked amazing as well. Sat at the bar and service was spectacular. The bar tenders never let us get low on the drinks before they’d ask if we needed something. As an amazing whiskey bar, they kept our waters full the whole time. Place was packed until 9p, when you could maybe grab a bar seat. You’d expect Maize in the city, very impressed that its in the suburbs.
