Hidden Lake Forest Preserve

One of the nicest parks I have visited for morning relaxation. It's great to take a walk here in the morning hours, surrounded by silence and the chatter of ducks. The perfect park for peace and positive vibes.

Beautiful forest preserve with two lake loop trails nestled against the Morton Arboretum and rt. 53. This preserve features a big open lake, Round Meadow Lake, with a trail that loops around. The area is open for great views and easy fishing access. Trail is gravel and very level and well maintained. The second lake, Eagle lake, is much more wooded and shady but also has a gravel loop trail. It is a good spot for birdwatching due to a lot of undergrowth and proximity to water. In between the two lakes is a beautiful old bridge from the 1870s which is well worth a visit. The forest preserve is accessed from a single entrance across from the WalMart and features two parking areas, one close the the picnic pavilion and restrooms and another near the informational sign and bridge. Overall this is a great forest preserve that offers a wide variety of scenery for its size and location!

Beautifully maintained walking trail with nature all around. Good place for a walk, bike ride, or to just relax for a moment. Well maintained paths. Surrounded by nature. The trail to the hidden lake is partially shaded. Very easy, could probably even make it around handicap accessible. Wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon. Would recommend for a quick getaway from the bustle of the city.

Hosted my bridal shower here! Great picnic shelter that can be reserved. Perfect for relaxed parties or birthdays. Close by bathrooms and dumpster for easy clean up. Beautiful day in a beautiful space!

Love this ‘hidden’ gem right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Beautiful park across from Walmart which parallels The Morton Arboretum in some places. Lots of places to stop and take in all of the beauty and serenity.

Beautiful trail to walk with family and children. Both of the bridges are safe guarded by fence, so you wont have to worry to much while walking with your kids!

Fun walk and nice shirt paths. Great place for doing under 2 miles. Or you can loop both sides and get a little over 3 miles.

Wanted to go to arboretum, couldn't get in. Hidden Lake was open and beautiful as always. We usually go to Hidden Lake after we go to the arboretum. We are members of the arboretum as are our daughters and their families.

Gotta hike way to the back to see some pretty old ruins. It’s near the true hidden lake. Neither of the big lakes are hidden. Those are meadow and eagle lakes. Tons of history if you dig deep.

Full sun 1 mile loop around the lake on the crushed gravel is a perfect place to end the day. May even see a turtle if you are looking.

I take my dog here weekly to walk the trails. It is well maintained and there are two lakes circumferenced by trails. The one nearest the parking lot is mostly grasslands and has lots of people jogging on the gravelled path. The other goes off into the woods a bit and is more peaceful and relaxed for those who like to wander or fish.

The real hidden lake is also worth a trip! Pack your bug spray, but it's worth it if you want to fish with kids or go for a walk/run.

Gorgeous outdoor walking trail, plenty of benches along the way, dog friendly as long as they’re on a leash.

This place is a cool place to go hiking depending what time you go you might be able to see a coyotes and it has two lakes to walk around!

Great place to unwind. We broke in my Daughter's new kayak here and really had a great time.

Very nice walking park. Bring sunscreen or a hat.
