Clayton's Cafe

We had lunch and breakfast here and it was absolutely incredible. Their breakfast sandwich was as so flavorful and their Maple Spiced Latte is the best coffee drink I think I’ve ever had (which is saying a lot because I’m from the Philadelphia area). Highly recommend!

Delightful stop along US 1. The patio was bustling when we showed up and people were ordering from the kitchen side. There was also another counter serving baked goods so we got a few to try. I especially loved the pumpkin cheesecake with a really tasty crust and filling that was not too sweet, but flavorful. There is a whole section of candy in the back, and signs around the store showcasing the accolades. Coffee was good and fresh, food looked good, and highly recommend as a stop just outside of Portland.

Excellent sandwiches and baked goods. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I had their classic chicken salad sandwich and it was excellent. I am picky about chicken salad sandwiches, and this was hands down one of if not the best I’ve had. Good flavors, just the right amount of mayo, great bread. Highly recommend you try this spot out.

We've found another great food place in Yarmouth, this time it seemed ideal for take out and more of a casual dining experience. They had a pretty substantial menu, with some really filling soups. At another counter, you can order barista style drinks, and some utterly DECADENT style desserts. I can't wait to go back and try their key lime or lemon tarts.

I ordered the falafel wrap, husband had the crab cake sandwich and we both tried the mushroom soup (which was gloriously herbed up.) Given that it was a rainy day, I added their Chai, and it arrived the perfect temp for me.

Being recently transported to Yarmouth, I
can honestly say, I'll be back!

Update: we've been back several times and Clayton's NEVER disappoints. The mozzarella and pesto sandwich is divine, as is their seafood chowder. The kiddo adores their grilled cheese. She knows it's a good day when we stop to grab a sandwich!

My husband and I stopped through for a quick meal on the way out to Acadia and- I must say- the customer service here was EXCEPTIONAL! We both eat a very low carb diet and Polly in particular was so accommodating in explaining all the ways we could modify our meal to fit into our way of eating. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I'm somewhat of a steak snob and took a risk with low price sirloin for breakfast, which was expertly cooked, juicy, and tender. The outside area also proved to be a beautiful place to relax for a moment in the crisp fall air. I highly recommend stopping by this spot for a home-cooked, served-with-love meal if you're passing through!

The sandwiches and baked goods at Clayton's are excellent! The fresh mozzarella sandwich with sundried tomato pesto, fresh sliced tomatoes, and fresh crispy lettuce was so delicious. I would definitely order that again! The whole sandwich was plenty of food to keep me full all afternoon. Looking forward to trying their half sandwich and cup of soup combo next time. We picked up our takeout sandwiches around 1:30 and the inside was packed. I definitely recommend calling ahead to place a to-go order, and avoiding peak lunch hours if you don't want to wait in a line. Lots of outdoor seating to eat your food!

We've been coming here and it's previous location for more than twenty years and love it!

My husband always gets one of the treats from the baked goods case or one of the cookies at the deli counter to round out his lunch.

We have tried many things on the menu, but my go-to for two decades has always been the marinated chicken sandwich on sourdough bread, you can get it with whole wheat sourdough. Always fantastic and always satisfies. So, while I love many other things on the menu, 90% of the time I return to my favorite.

They have fantastic wraps and very tasty soups and the desserts are astounding. I wish there was a Clayton's in every town and they were open on Sundays and in the evening. They're just that good.

There are tables inside their charming building and they recently expanded their outdoor seating area. Many, many people come to pick up there phone in orders, so there's always a line and there's always a steady stream of traffic coming in and out.

Parking can be tricky at lunch time as they are always filled to capacity at this very popular place.

Definitely worth the line and the wait and the challenge of parking. I always recommend this place to everyone, so I have no one to blame but myself. 😉😆

Delicious clean fast service the price in the range,I called to order before I show up it took 15 min or(falafel roll &2 kids grill cheese)

ALWAYS a great experience. I love how much they cater to the gluten free community, I always have sandwich, soup, and pastry options available to me. Service is friendly 10/10. Atmosphere inside is cute and cozy, perfect spot to meet a friend and stay to chat with a hot drink for a while. Bonus is the outside seating in the summer.

Stopped by for lunch and found it to be surprisingly busy winter mid-week. Upon getting our food (sandwiches and soup) it's obvious why. Great sourdough bread was a super foundation for generous fillings with great flavors. Now on our go to list for whenever we're in the area.

This place is amazing. For someone with celiac I feel safe eating here. They have lots of options for both savory and sweet treats. The customer service is top notch. Since finding it I’ve been back several times.

Have been visiting this wonderful place for over 20 years. The food is as great now as it was then and I’m so happy it’s still a Yarmouth staple. The Mediterranean wrap and turkey sandwich are delicious.

The kind and patient person taking orders helped direct me to the soup of my dreams — a savory mushroom and red kale. It tasted like a hug. So delicious!

Great sandwiches, chicken salad is especially good, and unique. My daughter loves the candy bar, naturally. Very friendly staff and lots of seating. They also have tons of homemade desserts.

It's almost always busy for a reason. Yummy food, snacks, candy, pastries, and more!

Oh, my goodness. The butternut squash soup was AMAZING. Perfectly spiced, absolutely delicous, and fiiling enough to satisfy even without the complimentary bread. No room for dessert just gives us a reason to return!

Bagels the best and coffee ☕ is just right. Busy but they handle it well. Outdoor seating available, counter service only.

Best Italian wedding soup ever. Chicken salad was A1 as well.
