Nice place!! Friendly staff. Place very clean. Rented for 2 days. Came with "kitchen." Stove, apt size frig, micro, coffee maker, plates, cups, silverware, cooking utensils. Nice bed...table and chairs, big TV with wifi. Just a really comfortable room. All at $65 per night. Guessing winter rates. Would love to visit in summer. Beach front.

This is such a quaint clean. Nice mom and pop hotel right on lake Huron beach access. Will definitely come back and stay here again. Highly recommend

Water's Edge was very highly recommended. The staff was terrific and very helpful. We had a great time sitting by the beach. We will definitely be coming back.

A very nice, clean, privately-owned property -- would definitely stay again. We especially appreciated the fridge with the separate freezer compartment. (No desk, but that's why it's called a laptop.) Good to have a USB port on lamps on bedside tables.

I wasn't expecting much for the extremely low rate I was paying for a last minute motel reservation on labor day weekend but was pleasantly surprised with everything about this place! It doesn't have the usual amenities of the big hotels, but the quality of our stay was worth not having the little extras we rarely use at the other places anyway. The room was clean, the the service is EXCELLENT, it is right on the beach and conveniently located relatively close to all of the parks and attractions in the area, with complimentary use of kayaks and free wood for the fire pit. Brenda even brought us homemade blueberry zucchini muffins. It's very cozy and private and well worth the price!

Nice place for a roadside motel. Room was clean and the owner was very nice. The view of lake Huron is amazing. Later in the night we enjoyed a fire pit on the beach. The best part was the price!

Hotels in this area charge twice the price for half the quality of this motel. Rooms a very nice, owners are great, why wouldn't you stay here by the lake.

My husband, our 2 year old daughter and myself stayed here for a small vacation and loved it. It was very cute and it's right on the water. Now, this place is not the Ritz by any means but for the price you can't beat it! The carpet was slightly dirty but nothing socks/shoes can't fix. The owners were very nice, quiet people. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Motel on the water. Super friendly staff. Right down the street from a very large Beach. Walking distance to tons of restaurants and stores. Near downtown Alpena. A great up north older motel experience with an excellent price and location where one can sit in provided chairs and picnic table with adjacent fire pit on Lake Huron, under a shade tree to look at the lake 10 feet away...... Can't lose.

The owner, John, is so friendly and accommodating! We drove to Alpena for a last minute trip and called to see if he had any rooms. He had us in a room in five minutes. He's in the process of remodeling the rooms, but they have everything you need. Plus, the motel is literally on the beach, a private beach just for motel guests! I would recommend staying here any time you're in Alpena!

My husband and I were tying to camp at the state campgrounds, and then it started raining so we packed and left. We found this motel in town, called the manager at 12:30 at night and he woke up, came down here and have us a room. Not only was he nice enough to do that, he went to McDonald's and got me coffee! Nicest guy ever!

Could not have been better! We reserved the house on the lake for relatives to stay for a week. Accommodations, service, cleanliness were perfect for a very reasonable price. We'll worth it and we will be back!

EXCELLENT location. Access to the lake and right next to a public park. The room was very comfortable and clean. The owner was extremely nice and friendly and gave lots of good suggestions for dinner and fun.

While traveling I stayed at this motel. The scenery was beautiful, room was clean and had homley feeling to it. Service was exellent and staff was very friendly. Perfect place to stay to get away from it all and will definitely stay again threw my travels. A++

Found this place by accident 2 years ago. A group of us pulled in trying to get a couple rooms. The manager informed us of the house on their property for guests as well. Turned out the house was available for great nightly rates (4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, kitchen, living room plus more)...i have spent more on small, "luxurious" hotel rooms per night with far less ammenities. Plus, the house is right on thr water of lake Huron. On another motorcycle trip to Alpena with a group, i called up the hotel and the house was available for thr dates we were looking at. Made our reservation, everything was ready when we came here and thr manager has been extremely accomodating. Will try to get this place any time i am in Alpena in a group.

The room was very clean and I loved the beach cottage style! It was very quiet and very easy to get to the beach.

Used to be our favorite place to stay but since New Management, they no longer accept Pets. Still... Very friendly people.

If anybody is looking for a nice house to rent own the water this is the place the owner is the best😃 very clean I could not be more impressed with the house the view was just fabulous thank you so much from all of us just beautiful I will be back every time we are in town😘
