The prime rib, stick to your bones good comfort food. The service was very good and fast, even though there is a worker shortage. Lauren our server was very prompt with drinks and food and was attentive to make sure we had everything. A nice place for food and drinks. The portions were very generous. The owners were kind and stopped by to say hello.

We enjoyed our afternoon meal of burgers, onion rings and wraps. I had a “smaller appetite” burger with all the fixings to make it like a Jr Cowboy burger. It was excellent and easier for me to eat. Maybe they should make a smaller one and call it the cowgirl burger! My dad couldn’t finish the a Cowboy burger and my mom loved the chicken wrap. Their yummy onion rings are made fresh. I will be back.

Date night at the Birchwood with me sweetie. Love their all that you can eat baked chicken I have a picture of our first plate and we got seconds.

Michaela was amazing! She was a wonderful server. The food was really good. The walleye sandwich was perfection. French dips, the meat was so tender. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Thank you!

My personal choice for the best food and family friendly dining. Full service bar, live entertainment, pull tabs, electronic bar top tab machines. Outdoor dining great service up-north atmosphere and conveniently located close to excellent fishing, hunting, lodging, several resorts and campgrounds. Locally owned and operated.

Super awesome staff, got us in and out super quick as the wife and I decided to stop in spontaneously before a movie. Salmon was good and so was my burger. They loaded up on the fries too!! Decent tap selection as well.

Stopped in for lunch on Tuesday. It's a trail riding day on snowmobiles. Bartender was very friendly. Recommended a burger. The cowboy burger. It's a really, really good. Comes with 3 large onion rings, and really good BBQ sauce. Nice clean bar and dining room. Would definately come back.

Food came out super quick, and was AMAZING! My boyfriend loved the poutine and the cheese curds are better than the state pair!

They were kind enough to accommodate our group of 30 on a closed day. Food was great. Service was wonderful.

My husband and I decided to stay another week at the cabin but couldn’t get more groceries until the next day. So local restaurant for dinner! Birchwood was full when we got there but Ellen (who ended up being our server) asked if we minded sharing a 6 table with two others. Not a problem! The menu was varied, prices were good (especially considering how much you got!) and Ellen was awesome. We were disappointed that they were out of Prime Rib, but it WAS their special and we’d arrived an hour before closing. My husband chose the Broasted Chicken Dinner and I had the Birchwood burger. When it arrived, I jokingly asked Ellen if people held it with their hands (it was so big!). She laughed, handed me a couple napkins and said “you’ll probably need these!” She was right! All in all, a really nice evening and we are looking forward to going again next weekend before we leave for home. But we’ll get there earlier so we can try the Prime Rib!

There’s a sign when you enter reminding you that they are short staffed and asking you to be patient. Simple enough request to make and for guests (the owner told us we were not customers, we were guests!) to honor. You’ll find it worth it!

Our family stopped and had dinner at the Char House while on vacation and the food was superb. My daughter said the Cowboy burger with fresh battered onion rings on top was amazing, other daughter said the ribs were the best she's ever had! The appetizers were great. My chicken sandwich was delicious. The owners, Rick and Linda are very nice and friendly! I would recommend the Birchwood Char House to anyone looking for delicious food and friendly atmosphere!

Cajun soup was really, really, really good!! Great side salad! Bemidji beer too! Perfect spot to stop on snowmobile. Sat at bar. Interesting waitress on her way back to Florida to make her dreams come true. As a non sports fan loved the TV placement and size. Looking forward to going back to try more of their food on our next snowmobile trip!

Delicious walleye sandwich! They have the best pickles and fries! Our waiter(Willie) was super helpful and courteous. Very upbeat attitude. The food here never disappoints.

This Mother's Day found my family travelling down Rte 371 when we saw a sign for Mother's Day brunch. We stopped in on a whim, and what a treat it was. The food was great- I'm not usually the brunch fan my wife is, and even I was impressed. Better yet, the people were awesome; everyone there was genuinely friendly. I should mention only order the 'spicy' bloody mary if you truly like it hot- I do, and it was delicious.
If you're in the area it's worth the trip.

Burgers, fries, tots, cheese curds, and aioli were delicious! Service was quick and friendly! Will absolutely be back when we come up each summer!

Great food (smoked ribs are amazing), great service and heavily poured drinks make for an amazing experience! Lastly, their employee, Jack, is a great guy!! Very hard-working and a pleasure to see young people with great work ethics! Will be back.

Wish I would have eaten hear much soon than I did. I have been going to Hackensack multiple time a year for almost 15 years and had never stopped in. There were 7 of us there and every had a different dish and everyone absolutely loved their meal. The staff was attentive, helpful and super friendly. I intend to go back whenever I am in the area and would highly recommend stopping in when you get a chance.

Great food, especially the Quesadilla appetizer. It's a meal by itself.
Shrimp Scampi was delicious also.The dinners come with really good side orders. Who doesn't like Popovers? I am making myself really hungry !
