Culantro

I first ordered food through Door Dash and then dined in with my family. The food is just bursting with flavor and amazing! I had the culantro bowl full of chicken and veggies and an incredible sauce. Quite filling and tasty! Best item on the menu, in my opinion. The Cuban sandwich is wow! Fries are great and thick. The fried plantains are scrumptious! What is really cool is ordered from the code off the plastic menu on the table and paying on your phone. The service is very quick and attentive. Mexican cokes! So good. Highly recommend as quality Peruvian food that is flavorful and worth the price. There is some free parking in the back. Will order from them again and again. Highly recommend. The specialty drink I had was made with purple corn, and cinnamon was flavorful and warm, but very overpowering. Recommend to share it, but order a Mexican Coke with your meal. Nice Peruvian Inca Kola.

The food was so delicious and fresh! Service was quick and friendly. The passion fruit drink is sooooo good. Vegetarian options.

I first discovered Culantro when I was visiting and ordered from them via UberEats.

I decided to go have a sitdown lunch at their restaurant after enjoying the food via delivery

Culantro is a casual little restaurant with helpful/ friendly staff. Plus the food is amazing, flavorful, and fresh.

I recommend the Pollo La Brasa (Rotisserie Chicken) and the Culantro Bowl for sure.

I still need to trying everything else on the menu, but if you love Peruvian food you’ll enjoy this place. 👍🏿🔥

Stopped in before going to the Ferndale Art Fair today. Decided on the ceviche, culantro bowl, and the sandwich de chicharon. Also decided on the chicha morade drink. Service was great and fast. Everything was yummy! Will have to come back to try the rest of the food and desserts on the menu 👌

The food was amazing I cannot stop talking about it. We had the seafood rice and pollo chicken (sorry I forget the names) the homemade drinks and tres leches and cheesecake. There were no missed EVERYTHING was fantastic.

The owner was absolutely amazing and so proud of his restaurant. Giving suggestions for drinks and food and just being so happy overall. He was taking orders and cleaning tables and you could just tell how excited he was. I loved that.

I'm definitely coming back and bringing more mouths to try Peruvian food.

Amazing experience! Food was phenomenal (we had rotisserie chicken and a rice dish), deserts were amazing (tres leches cake and the cheesecake), and the specialty beverages were crazy good (the chicha morada and the passion fruit juice).

The manager was super awesome and gave us some gentle recommendations that we loved for the drinks and dessert. Even took our picture for us haha. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Above and beyond expectations. The food was perfect. Fast food delivery. Greta portion size. Spices were great. Seco a la norteña is a hard dish to properly make—this was masterfully done. I would put this place at the top of my Peruvian restaurant list in the continent besides maybe a small place in UT which gets the same amazing score. It felt like I was in my mom’s kitchen table. Hats off to the chef and the owner.

Food was amazing! Everything was very flavorful and yuca frita is a must. They also have pictures of the food in the menu that defitinely helps decide whatever you want. Service was super fast and friendly.

I had the #5 Chicken rice and black beans.
The skin on the chicken was nice and crispy while the inside was moist and flavorful. The purple drink I had (I can’t remember the name), but the guy who works there describes what’s in it in my video. It was good and had a very similar taste to a mock sangria and came in this cute mason jar. The trees branches on the walls were real and added an earthy feel to the restaurants vibe. I also had those delicious fried plantains and seeet potatoes. Oh and the green verde sauce had just the right amount of flavor and heat! If you are looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine, this is your spot. The entree was so good I dug in before taking a pic. The pics they have of thier food is literally exactly how it looks when served.

The purple corn and clove drink is incredible. Strong and very sweet and flavorful. The quarter chicken is great as is the cilantro bowl and steak w egg. Wonderful, lovely staff who helped pick the right entrees. Look forward to going back and trying more dishes!

We ordered empanadas, Seco a la Norteña and Lomo Saltado. The Seco was really good and well served, the Lomo Saltado seemed to have less meat but was tasty. I’d never tasted chicha water and I loved it even though I don’t usually drink water that has sugar. Overall it was a good experience.

This place has amazing food. You order at the register and they bring it. Not fancy, but everything is delicious. Peruvian food is not familiar, but there are things you will recognize like steak and chicken. The tres leches cake is basically the best ever.

great food, haven’t ever had something from here I didn’t like. Good value for the exceptional food. Love the ceviche and the chicken!

First time going to Culantro and I was blown away by the food and can’t wait to come back again. The staff was super friendly and asked if it was our first time to which we said yes and we were given clear instructions on the menu and our options on how to order.

We sat ourselves at a booth and used the QR code to order. You can open a tab up on your phone and just keep ordering on that all meal until you’re ready to checkout and leave. The staff will bring you all your food and drinks so you don’t need to get up at all.

The food came out pretty quick and was incredible. The carne a la planca with rice, plantains and fries was so tasty. The steak was cooked a nice medium with a little pink inside the middle and I just can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this meal.

Since moving up to Michigan from south Florida last year I’ve longed for good Peruvian food like I got back home and I’m happy to say I finally found it.

This will be a regular spot for me moving forward.

I loved the place! The Chicha Morada water was so good. We loved the Ceviche Peruano (If you like spicy you can order a salsa for the ceviche). The Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado were really good too. The owner is Peruvian and she gave us food recommendations. We had a great time here!

Culantro is so cute. I’ve always wanted to go to Peru, but I figured I should try the food first! The food is great and the workers are so nice. Really enjoyed everything here. It’s a comfortable, home style restaurant. Every dish we ordered was delish! I would highly recommend the chicken sandwich (not pictured) and the Patacones Picantes. Would 1000% go back to try out more items.

I am so happy to have this delicious new dining option in Ferndale. I admit, I am not the most adventurous person when it comes to trying food that is unfamiliar to me, but I loved it! It was the first time I had eaten Peruvian food and it was so flavorful! The combination of spices and the way everything was prepared made for a new and welcomed experience. The atmosphere is colorful, and the staff were very friendly! I would definitely recommend it, even for picky/boring eaters like me.

What a fun little restaurant. Food was delicious the service was friendly and the prices were good. Really enjoyed the sandwich of pork shoulder in a salsa and cilantro sauce topped with sweet potato very yummy. Also had the marinated steak strips stir fried with onions and tomatoes and soy sauce. Very good too. The flan was excellent and the tres leche cake was delicious. Will definitely be going back
