Tasty Boy Donuts

I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing donut shop today. It’s definitely a vintage vibeeeee! The atmosphere is amazing. The variety of baked goods is incredible. They had donuts, cinnamon rolls, fritters, bagels etc. they also serve coffee, juice, milk etc. I got half a dozen donuts. I tried three flavors. They were perfect. They were warm, soft. The icing was right. Not too sweet. Just perfect! There was no wait time even though I went during breakfast hours. The staff was super friendly. They do take cash only. There’s parking available outside. I had a wonderful experience at Tasty Boy Donuts. This a must stop place. Do the check them out.

Love this place! When you walk in, it's like stepping back in time. They're donuts and coffee are delicious. They're prices are very reasonable. The owner is very sweet ❤

I have been going here since I can remember. My parents and grand parents have gone here to get donuts for Sunday get together, etc.

This place is NEVER a disappointment! It's obviously been bought out since I was little, but I'm glad the quality and recipes are all the same! My sister and I come back once a year to get our "fill" (no puns intended!)
Always have to get a raspberry fritter

The doughnuts are Amazing! I love Apple fritters. There are regular size and HUGE Size. Awesome prices. There are 6 donuts in the Box underneath that huge Apple fritter.

I bought a half dozen a couple days ago and just tried them and they were great, the lady behind the counter was very friendly. The place is a little out dated but who cares, the two guys not sitting together or eating or drinking anything and never spoke was a little weird.

$3.50 for a fritter the size of your face and a large coffee. How do you beat that? Nice quiet place to sit and have a coffee with a friend or pick up donuts on your way to work.

These are, by far, the BEST doughnuts I've ever had in any part of Michigan or any other state for that matter. These are better than Monica's Baker Boy in Monroe, and far better than anything you can get at Dunkin', Tim Hortons (even the Canadian ones), or even Krispy Kreme.

Most other places just make everything sweet, and are carried by people's addiction to sugar. These are not.

These doughnuts are soft, fluffy, and appropriately sweet. They are not lathered in frosting, but have a thin coat. The doughnuts with filling are *stuffed*. The custard doughnuts have about 1/3 to 1/2 a cup of custard each. The custard is mild and obviously made with real ingredients and with care. The fritters are amazing too. They aren't caked with icing, but have a light coat. They focus on what a fritter should be, which is the texture and the flavor. Both the raspberry and apple cinnamon are heavy and moist, with plenty of fruit mixed in the batter. You can taste the butter. Nothing here is cloyingly sweet. Everything here is balanced, rich, and flavorful.

The doughnuts are about 4.5 inches in diameter, and the fritters are almost 6 inches in diameter. Even thier doughnut holes are about twice the size of timbits. Frankly, a single doughnut and a quarter of a fritter is plenty. They pair well with strong coffee.

At the time of writing, a fritter costs $2.50 and a dozen doughnuts are $15. You might be thinking some chain stores are a *little* cheaper, but you'd be mistaken for 2 main reasons. 1) The quality of these doughnuts are leagues better than any other shop, bar none. 2) By sheer size and weight(yes, I measured), these are literally 50-100% bigger. By these two points, you actually get a vastly higher quality product made with real ingredients for less of a price!

Since they don't post a menu, from what I remeber, there are:

Apple(cinnamon) or raspberry fritters

Lemon, banana raspberry, and strawberry filled dounuts

Custard and Vienna cream doughnuts, along with long johns.

Also your standard glazed, chocolate, nut, and sprinkled varieties. As well as chocolate or glazed donut holes.

After living in the area for 5 years I finally decided to try this place. The Apple fritters are amazing. The lemon filled donut was delicious also. It does seem a little expensive, but worth the price.

Best donuts I’ve ever had. Even a day later they’re still better than most donuts shops the same day.

This place has the best donuts!

My friend and I visit all the metro Detroit donut shops. We went into this place and it was classic and had plenty of bar seating which we prefer. The coffee was hot and strong and the donuts really set this place apart from others. They had a good selection with many donuts that I had not tried before. We will definitely be back to enjoy this place again. One last thing, the service was good and they recognized or knew their regulars by name which is nice to see.

Absolutely love Tasty Boy! The owner is always kind and patient while I pick out my donuts. The line always moves quickly. I do not mind paying a fee to use my card because they used to be cash only and I'd rather support a family business than go to Meijer and get (previously frozen) donuts.
The apple fritters are my absolute favorite! A must try!

This is the same or less expensive than the chains, but the doughnuts are AMAZING! I have never had better in my life. Their creme is so good, very sweet but if you can handle it it is the best. The family who runs it is very nice and welcoming.
