Redford Cemetery

Great quite space.

This was my first time visiting Redford Cemetery. We went here today to work on a historical preservation project. The entrance to the cemetery was difficult to find. I actually passed the entrance twice. The cemetery is mowed, but not necessarily maintained. There are broken limbs down everywhere and it appears that several of the older headstones have fallen over or have suffered from vandalism. It was extremely peaceful in the cemetery. There were deer in the back grazing for the longest time. When the other folks got to the cemetery earlier, there was a homeless person sleeping in his vehicle and using the Porti potty that the group that we were working with brought to the cemetery. Another person was in a vehicle the other time they came doing something that was not right so I think this cemetery should be better patrolled. There were a few family plots that needed more care taken of them as well as, headstones that need to be picked up, clean and/or repaired. Since this is a cemetery that has burials from people with historical significance, I think the people in Redford and the city should show this place some tender loving care.

Other than the beautiful headstones... It's actually infested with rats... Living in root structures... Feeding on fallen tree fruit... Seems as though nobody cares for the land. Desecrated grave stones.
