Can't say enough amazing things about this amazing place, full of amazing products, education, amazing people, amazing creatures, and an amazing owner! If you aren't shopping here for ALL of your reptilian/amphibious/etc. needs, idk what you're doing with your hard earned money you spend on your creatures 🤷 I'm not saying, I'm just saying! They even do on site educational classroom visits at schools and other venues!

ALSO, check out the World Of Fish upstairs while you're there. Worth the drive every time!

The entire staff is very thoughtful. I would have loved to stay longer. Really well cared for reptiles and little frogs for sale. Well worth the trip. Several elementary and middle school kids when I was there, and they all seemed to have a great time because the staff is so careful with the animals.

Note, the entrance is on the back of the building, via short driveway on left side of building. A little icy going down the little hill so use extra caution.

Roger is the best! Friendly and very knowledgeable about reptiles/amphibians. Items at his shop are reasonably priced and worth the trip to visit!

Awesome educational shop! Just discovered this place yet it's been in Duluth for years! Very knowledgeable and genuine and there's a very unique selection of critters here. Apparently they do events and birthday parties, too!

Staff are very hands on, allowing customers to touch and hold the cool creatures.. My ten year old absolutely loved holding the snakes and my personal favorite was the blue tongued skink 😍

I discovered the place more on accident by visiting the fish shop. My 2 year old loved the whole experience and is doing her best to convince her father that she needs a snake or other reptile because she had such a great time. She can't remember the word gecko, but she is still miffed that she wanted to "hold" it. We are not ready for her brand of reptile husbandry, but this place has sparked an interest we didn't know she had.
She loved getting to see the animals, an associate helped her handle (pet) a few, she learned names of some of them, identified some she knew, and only found the spiders (tarantulas) "too spooky." She's already asking to return. This was worth our >2hr drive.

This is a fantastic reptile/amphibian store! The owner, Roger, is very well educated on his animals & will gladly chat with u. Animals are very well cared for & has plenty of supplies to buy there. I highly recommend visiting if u need supplies or just to browse the store. Big thumbs up from me!

My family really enjoys going there. He has everything for our Leo. My kids love looking at the other reptiles he has and it's given us lots of ideas of what we can go towards in the future.

He's got so much knowledge about the reptiles he sells and the products he sells as well.

I’m 13 and I LOVE being there I volunteer and it makes a great work experience from me since soon I will be able to get job. Roger (the owner) has thought me a lot and I love being there it’s an amazing place and the animals are treated like queens and kings so please if you need a snake,spider,fish,frogs, or even geckos please come here and not to a big pet store

Absolutely magickal place. If you have/want a reptile you should be here at some point or if you want to come in and show Milo some much deserved attention.

Roger is the best! His animals are always in phenomenal health. He makes sure every kid leaves with more knowledge and appreciation for all creepy crawlies. If you want to touch/pet something. Just ask!

Vanessa's shop is also there. She makes the most creative and witty items for your family pets or your home. If you want to start a terrarium, this is the place to go!

We had Roger and his assistant Kayla come out to my daughters 10th bday party today. Roger is kind, knowledgeable and most of all patient with kids. I’d 100% recommend having them come out to join in your next kids event!

Roger is awesome! Very knowledgeable has his personal pets on display and will take the time to answer your questions. He also sells reptile supplies, hides, tanks and also has a mouse, rat and a wide variety of bugs. We've purchased 2 corn snakes from him. He knows the history of the snakes because he breeds them. Our last corn snake we purchased we were able to meet its father too. Highly recommend The Snake Pit.

All positive experiences when I visit the snake pit. Roger was very helpful in guiding us to get our finicky ball python eating. Lots of fun reptiles to check out. He’s great with the kids, letting them hold and feed the animals. I’m a happy customer.

Very kind and knowledgeable staff. Large variety of frogs, reptiles, etc. They do sell aquariums/terrariums of various sizes.

Rodger is fantastic and so helpful! Very patient with excited kids. The snake I got from The Snake Pit is my favorite one. Nice variety for good husbandry.

I recently bought a small beautiful corn snake at the Snake Pit and I don’t think I will ever consider buying a reptile at a petsmart or petco in Duluth. Roger (the owner) was very well informed, passionate, and kind when it came to answering questions and helping me figure out what’s best! It was great going home feeling prepared and knowing I could contact him with questions if needed. You can tell there is real care being put into these animals and it’s a cool little store.

Roger is great at sharing what he knows best! He did not have a problem sharing with us his experiences and knowledge about feeders and habitats for my dragon! Pretty cool.
