Xunta Tapas Espana

We really love this restaurant! Every visit feels special. The food is delicious with lots of great choices. The staff (or owner) are attentive, total pros. We left feeling like we had just had the best meal, best dining experience. Additionally, the space is very comfortable decorated with unique photos from Spain.

I went to Xunta over the weekend, I had a great experience. The atmosphere, service, & food was fantastic! Stephanie was our waitress, her work ethics are outstanding! I will definitely recommend coming here for great food and great service.

Went there for dinner. It was an authentic experience we had. Took us right back to spain. It’s BYOB the cool thing about it is we brought a bottle of red wine and we paid a little bit and they turned it into a pitcher of sangria

First time ever trying spanish food and I was so surprised to find everything so good which is why I had to write a review. The number 1 thing to try out is definitely patatas bravas I have never had anything like it. Also had the croquetas, and chorizo and pork and they did not disappoint. As for the environment is a talk and eat place pretty chill perfect for a date or to catch up. You can also bring your own wine and they can make sangria for you which is great in my opinion. A 10/10 soon will be back to try more of the menu.

I don't agree with some of the reviews here. Food was excellent. We had the spicy potatoes, chorizo, shrimp, scallops, steak, pork stew? and some other items I don't remember. Minor quibble. The shrimp was slightly overcooked. Servers were great. Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely return. It's best to try a variety of tapas portioned dishes.

Need to go back, the patadas bravas were killer, the steak was perfectly cooked and the grilled chicken and rice was great

Each tapa that came out was better than the last one. So so good can't wait to go back and it's byob.

I visited this place without an appointment on a Saturday evening and I was lucky to be able to get a table, it gets busy and the place is a little small. After a warm welcoming from Carmen the owner I tried four different tapas and they were all great, I highly recommend the Patatas Bravas. BYOB

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the food and staff at Xunta. Just had a wonderful lunch and have enjoyed several dinners there. And the best news for my husband and me is that most of the delicious, authentic menu is GLUTEN-FREE!!. G-F options are clearly marked on the menu (including most of the desserts). Xunta should be a destination location for people who love good food but do not love gluten!

Xunta is one of my favorite restaurants in the West Essex area. Come for the addicting patacas bravas and chourizo a prancha; stay for the gracious warmth and hospitality that makes you feel right at home. I’ve dined here solo, in small parties of 3-4, and as a part of a 17-person gathering for my dad’s 60th birthday, and not once has Xunta’s team disappointed.

We Love Xunta and have been going there for years but not since the onset of the pandemic. We have been getting out a bit more of late and my wife noticed that Xunta was open for lunch. We arrived at noon and we were the only people in the restaurant. We were met by Max who could not have been nicer or friendlier. The tapas were as good as we remembered. We shared the bean and broccoli soup, the croquettes, the chicken brochette and of course their famous spicy potatoes with aioli sauce. Everything was excellent and Max was very attentive. We are already planning our next visit.

I just love this place! If you love appetizers,Tapas are for you, but everything can be ordered as an entree too. I have Celiac and must eat gluten free. Just about all of the dishes are gluten free and labeled GF on the menu. That is always a pleasure not to have to ask about ingredients. Everything is delicious, the vegetables are cooked to perfection and so are the meats. Chef is talented, and the service is warm and friendly.

We went to this place last night and it was AMAZING!! My friend recommended it, as he’s been there for the famous chipotle potatoes. We had pork tenderloin, short rib, potatoes and octopus. Everything was phenomenal. The server was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. On the way out I let the owner know how great everything was and he expressed his appreciation. It’s a BYOB and we actually brought a white and red they accommodated. Most definitely going back. YOU MUST TRY!

Fabulous in every way. The food is exceptional cooked to perfection. Stringbeans with garlic crunchy and delicious. The steak and spinach again just perfect. Service is excellent, polite and patient very caring people.

I cannot recommend a place better than this one. The food was absolutely incredible! I couldn’t take pictures because I couldn’t put my fork down long enough to take some. We went with a big group of people and we got a large variety of the tapas to share. Some of the best ones included the croquetas, the chourizo a prancha, the costelas refogadas, and the datiles con touciño, and poblo romesco. The flavors were amazing, everything was cooked beautifully and the service was amazing! If you haven’t been here yet, you are missing out.

Came here after a hair appointment two doors down. Food and service were excellent. We had the spinach, the bacon wrapped dates, and the grilled chicken kebabs. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The hostess was welcoming, and the chef came to check on us. We will definitely be back!

The food is truly delicious and they keep their recipes true to spanish cuisine.
But the best part of Xunta are Carmen and Alfonso.
They are super friendly and welcoming, we love going there, it feels like family!

Splendid dinner and service for our party of seven on a recent weekday evening. Wait staff, upon request, assisted selection for our mixed party of vegetarian and omnivores. As others have mentioned, food can be staged through a relaxing, extended time. We loved every dish, and the house-mixed sangria was enjoyed and finished. Easily a place to go back to and a confident recommendation to others.

Update from a recent visit: all of the above still holds. Considering that they were short staffed on a crazy busy Friday night, the service was outstanding. It is a very lively loud atmosphere..so not the place if you are planning to have a conversation!
