Empire Hearing & Audiology - Troy

I've been coming here to Empire Hearing & Audiology in Troy NY for years. All of the staff have been attentive and helpful every time that I've called or stopped by for assistance. Jonathan is always readily available and very knowledgeable. He's been able to fix any issues that I've had and answer all of my questions with ease. Also, he and Jamie are very personable and friendly. It's always a pleasure to interact with both of them. I, highly, recommend this establishment for all of your audiology needs.

Jonathan & Jamie are the courteous, respectful & helpful staff. They made my experience a very positive one & I recommend them highly. Being a fellow professional, I was grateful for all the care they both gave me. I recommend them to keep up the grate work to myself and all their patients.

Customer service was excellent! Very knowledgeable, very patient and helpful explaining how the hearing aids function. He answered all my many questions.
The atmosphere in the office was nice and friendly. The receptionist was friendly and greeted me as soon as I approached the window.

I was absolutely thrilled with the service I received from Empire Hearing and highly recommend them! I’ve been to other places and I wish I had come here first! Their professionalism and customer service is outstanding.

I would like to give more than 5 stars. Dr. Jackie is amazing, not only is she very knowledgeable she was also friendly, helpful , went above and beyond customer service for my brother as a new patient. Mary Beth at reception area was very helpful and very sweet with follow-up information and very customer oriented. Highly recommend!!!

8/16/22. Update: after several months with new aides, it was ‘checkup’ time. I was very surprised that the audiologist had left for another position and while the person that saw me was well versed in what needed to be done; I guess I would have expected an email or text to know that the person I thought was ‘my’ audiologist had moved on.

I found the staff at Gabriel-Moran were very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. This was my second time I was invited for a free hearing evaluation. They were able to show me how my hearing as declined slightly over the past few years. They gave me some excellent recommendations and guidance of what I could do going forward. I was very pleased with the service and experience.

Our experience at Empire Heating and Audiology was exceptional! Dr. Reitz was exceptional! Our daughter has been wearing hearing aides since she was 7, she’s now 18, Dr. Reitz was through in her heating test and updated technology that can assist our daughter at the college level. We are so pleased to have moved to this practice!

Until I answered Gabriel-Moran's ad I had been with a local audiologist for over 10 years. I knew I needed new hearing aids, but I was intrigued by the ad, and since everything was 'free', I thought - what the heck. Of course, nothing is really free. I wound up buying new hearing aids. However, in the 10 years with my previous provider, I never experienced the quality and level of service that I have experience with Tara Miller. She is extraordinary, and probably should write a book on customer service. She is not only competent and well qualified. She is patient, understanding and relatable. No one has ever spent as much time as she has in helping me to learn about my new hearing aids. Not only that, she knows exactly what will work and what won't. She's willing to take the time to really listen and then with exquisite patience, help you with a solution. Each time I see her, I come away very satisfied. The bonus is that these are the best hearing aids I have ever had. The sound quality is wonderful, the bells & whistles (crowd sound control etc) are great, and I forget that I have them in - which was never the case with the old ones.
If you are considering getting new aids, or being evaluated to see if you need them, do yourself a favor and at least pay Tara a visit.

I have been a customer at Gabriel Moran for more than 25 years. They are quick to respond when problems arise with my hearing aids and never push for additional purchases. The staff is friendly, efficient and aware of the challenges involved in hearing loss. This is a great place to obtain good information and care.

Jonathan and Jammie were incredibly polite, friendly and professional. I would , without question recommend them to any one in need of hearing or audiological help.

I'm amazed by the level of quality service this office provides to its patients. In my experience, a majority of hearing aid offices want to rush people out of the office during services and follow up visits or sell them a new set of hearing aids, not this place. The staff at Gabriel-Moran Hearing is kind, compassionate, trustworthy, and knowable and will help you hear again.

I received a mailer about free hearing tests advising
that I could possible receive hearing aids paid for by Medicare. I was skeptical because previous encounters with hearing aid "professionals" were like dealing with used car dealers. They always wanted to push upcharges. I was surprised with the way I was treated. The test was very low key but through. When it came time to see the hearing aids and look at prices, there was no pressure to buy. In fact I was discouraged from buying a pricier aid as I was told I did not need it. When I came in to be fitted for the hearing aid, I met Jessica. She is a treasure. She showed me how it worked, fitted the ear pieces and explained everything. When I came back for the second time, I asked if certain modifications could be made and Jessica completed them in minutes. It was a real pleasure to work with the staff. I would recommend them to anyone who has a hearing difficulty. Thanks for everything Joe Paruszkiewicz

Being in the hearing industry myself, I have access to many providers. When it became apparent that hearing aids were no longer the best option for me, I relied on the advice and recommendations of Dr. Rietz. Dr. Rietz provided me with excellent care post my surgery for Cochlear Osia Bone Anchored Hearing Aids. She did a thorough activation of my new devices and communicated regularly with my surgeon. Dr. Reitz and Mary Beth, the Patient Care Coordinator, provided the best customer care for my hearing aids and now for my Cochlear needs. I couldn't recommend this office more.

I brought my 91 year old mother to the hearing aid center. Both Tara and Kim were wonderful with her. So patient and kind. No high pressure sales pitch. They have even checked on my mother since her visit.

Staff is great! Tara really understands the needs of those with impaired hearing. She explains how to use the newest technology (and there is a LOT) in easy to understand language. She makes sure the individual is receiving the very best sound possible for their situation.

Tara and Kim are super friendly and smiling every time I've come in. Tara is very knowledgeable and is very concerned about my whole hearing health. I highly recommend this team for your hearing needs. They even hooked me up with a free phone. Awesome service.

I had a very positive experience at Empire Hearing and Audio. Each step of my exam was explained in a very clear fashion. After the exam the doctor went over the results step by step to ensure that I had a complete understanding. I would recommend Empire Hearing wholeheartedly.

Tara is a very personable and knowledgable professional. Both her and her secretary, Kim, are compassionate to the individual needs of patients. Tara is well-informed about the technology available in her field as well as special programs that solve specific challenges. She is also sensitive to financial challenges as well, and very resourceful. They find efficient, reliable solutions to problems to help overcome communication challenges.
