Nick's Del Mar

We had the best time at Nick’s Del Mar. We arrived and were able to be immediately seated on the patio. I hadn’t been to a Nicks since pre-COVID and that was up at their San Clemente location so it was our first time at the Del Mar spot. We started off with a Cucumber Collins and a beer. For dinner we ordered the a Prime Rib Dip and the Blackened Fish Sandwich. The Prime Rib Dip is a specialty of the house and melts in your mouth. They only serve it until they run out daily. My partner loved the fish sandwich as well. For dessert we had the Warm Butter Cake and, oh my goodness, it is SO delicious. I highly recommend leaving room for that. Service was punctual and friendly and everyone we encountered and were served by were smiling and pleasant.

This place I visited for my friend's birthday. The shrimp I ordered as an appetizer with a glass of margarita went well with the sauce, so it was a good start.Margarita liked the jalapeno watermelon more slightly spicy than the original. It was good that the other foods were not salty and the taste was not too biased in the sauce. I'm going to try different kinds of fish at the outside table next day.

We loved Nicks in Laguna Beach so we had to try this location and it didn’t disappoint. Made reservations a week in advance to be sure to get a nice table. The atmosphere is very chill and we had a bird’s eye view of the chef’s kitchen. We had the halibut macadamia crusted with pineapple sauce and the meatloaf special. These were both amazing dishes! We will be coming back soon!!

We've been repeat offenders at Nick's Del Mar for a year or so. We are fans of dinning in the bar with our bartender friend Mark. The service is exceptional, food is consistent, and the drinks are the best. Ever find yourself in this area, do stop by and checkout Nick's.

Our large party was promptly seated and well cared for. Our waitress did a great job checking in, and making sure our glasses were full. The food itself tasted great! The chips and salsa were a great bonus - we had to practice a lot of self control to not get full before the arrival of food.

Man-oh-man, have I found a new fave hotspot in Del Mar…heck, in all of San Diego! Nicks is the tasty bomb! Jamie & Barney introduced us to this hip, elegant, delicious joint and Tammy & I fell instantly in love! The food is exceptional, the service impeccable and the atmosphere just swanky enough to make you feel elevated but not overcome by snob factor.

I can see this being one of our prime spots for a quick cocktail, a quick & tasty lunch, or pull the stops and invite friends to make it THE place for dinner.

Note: Are you super hungry? Don’t hesitate and just order the ribs. OMG, you’ll be amazed at the fall-off-the-bone tastiness. Smaller appetites? Go for the spicy Thai salad; To-Die-For. And one secret pleasure? The roasted garlic infused bread. Dang, too many choices, but a great problem to have.

Delicious food. Enjoyed our early dinner. Great service. The fish sandwich burger was so good but huge! Just the walk in is a bit of a wait so better make reservations, if the whole party is not present, they give your reservation away.

The food was excellent, our service was great, and the ambiance was very nice. We had a little problem at first. My daughter had a baby stroller, and they are kind of limited with tables for space to park those. But they took action and accommodated us until a table was ready. We decided to stay where we were, and everything was great!
I would definitely recommend going here it was very nice.

Great food and awesome atmosphere to chill. Our server was Natasha (I'm pretty close if not correct?) and she was an excellent resource and guide for menu items and tasty beverages. Highly recommend this experience for meetups, families, and even going solo. Enjoy 💓

Nice restaurant, good service and enjoyed the food, the filet was not as tender as expected but otherwise a good experience. We had the deviled eggs, asparagus, pot roast and filet special.

Delicious food and excellent service provided by Naomi. We were warmly and promptly greeted and welcomed. One of the best mojitos I have tasted.

Would come back again and taste those desserts!

have been coming here for a couple years now, has become a family tradition and a place we always go to celebrate milestones, good grades, and family coming down. Went here to celebrate my 18th and once again they did not disappoint. From my arnold palmers, garlic cheesy toast, to the chicken piccata pictured below. Nothing was short of delicious and perfect

Stopped in for lunch, very comfortable atmosphere and very friendly staff. Menu options were great with a nice price point. I had the burger with a side salad. One of the better burgers I have had at a restaurant in a while. We shared the deviled eggs and wish I got another order, amazing!

A great experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere is comfortable and nice for a dinners the service was great and the food was amazing! The server had some great recommendations of wine as well and I appreciated the ability to sample a wine before committing to a glass. They were also accommodating to some dietary restrictions which I appreciate. Would definitely go back to try more!

WONDERFUL FAMILY LUNCH- Nick’s never disappoints. Perfectly fit our extended family of 6 plus a baby. The bistro platter is a fam favorite. Also had a salad with salmon, ribs, and the halibut. Aaron our waiter was so helpful and funny. Looking forward to our next meal here!

Great bartender, bar back was also amazing...keep these two women around!!! I don't have names but they were working when I came in at about 5pm Monday March 4th.

Hands down my favorite restaurant. Mandy, the manager, welcomes us like family every time. Zack and Alyssa at the bar crush it! Great service. Great environment. You always get what you want at Nick’s.

We just went to the Nick’s. I had such a touching and amazing time. Today was my mom's birthday, so we went to Nick's for dinner, were greeted by a friendly guide, sat down, and ate the three dishes we ordered. It was San Francisco Cioppino, Center Cut Filet, and Bistro Plate. The tenderness of the steak and the freshness and deep flavor of the seafood soup were excellent. What impressed us more than anything was that the final dessert included a candle celebrating my mother's birthday and received congratulatory messages from the staff. Everyone was friendly, from the chefs who prepared the food to the male manager at the main counter and all other staff. My mom said it was the best meal and a touching time. She was delighted and our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at Nick's. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It's the best place!!

So we decided to pop by Nick’s for the first time for a evening dinner and everything was excellent. From the service to environment, the food , just everything !
We tried the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer and it was very flavorful as was the salsa that it came with the dish and the chips came out warm and fresh .
I had the bistro plate which came with the bistro petite salad which was very flavorful and light. It also came with a perfectly seasoned and cooked petite filet steak. To round out the plate it came with their rotating soup of the day which was the bomb. I unfortunately can’t remember the name of the soup.

After spending a disappointing weekend in San Diego during a heat wave going to Nick's in Del Mar was an absolute treat. Our server Mark was quick to give us much needed water and his descriptions of menu items was poetic. We enjoyed a light meal of filet mignon paired with tasty tortilla soup and salad. We really enjoyed our experience.
