National’s Cafe

Despite the Cafe's misleading name, an obsequious one that let me overlook the fact that this place is an Asian restaurant, I came here for some chicken teriyaki. What they served me was excellent!

I had a bit of craving for the teriyaki for a good while, and theirs hit the spot! The miso soup was a welcome addition to my meal.

I do have minor criticism about one thing that I had there. The gyoza were a bit too light on the filling. However, they were crispy and tasty, nonetheless!

All of my food was well presented, and they included a refreshing cucumber salad with a vinegary flavor. It had a peculiar topping that I couldn't quite identify. Imitation crab, maybe? I'm no expert on shellfish, nor imitation, so I can't tell you what they topped it with.

Since my grandfather was allergic to shellfish, in general, and my family didn't eat it often, I just avoid it these days. I still tried a taste of it. Looking at the picture, someone might be able to guess what it is. I have no opinion about its flavor.

Years ago, this place used to be a sandwich shop when I was younger. While I miss enjoying that business's food, particularly their French Dips with chips, I've gained a new restaurant's food to enjoy for what they offer; some really good teriyaki! Change doesn't have to be frightening!

PS: The service was excellent. The woman who served my table brought everything in intervals. I didn't have to wait too long for anything. The asian cuisine program they had up on the tv was interesting too! It was probably one of the most deaf-friendly forms of entertainment I can think of, not to mention interesting for being foreign content and subtitled as a matter!

I had the opportunity to enjoy several sushi rolls, tempura shrimp and miso soup. The best is the long Nevada roll that is crystal shrimp, jalapeno topped w/ cilantro, avocado, snapper, lemon. Never had tasted something like that. The owners are super friendly and very affordable prices. Give a try or call for take out.

The BEST sushi EVER! Most amazing staff too! They took care of my husband who has a severe onion allergy, and me who can’t eat meat due to a kidney condition, made us custom special food then charged us less than we should have paid! Make sure you too big because these guys treat you like royalty! Thank you from your BLM wild horse friends from California!

Good place, great staff & amazing Sushi. Family owned & operated, it's definitely worth the little drive from Reno.

Got our dinner to go. There was a long wait but it was totally worth it. Delicious sushi and plenty for three people. Very good service as well. They took our phone number and called us when our order was ready so we didn't have to stand around waiting for it. Next time we will order ahead.

It is their Tahoe roll and then I ask for lemons on top as well as some sriracha. Give it a try!!!

Absolutely amazing!!! Went for dinner 32.00 a person (that's with tax) you can choose from countless sushi ALL YOU CAN EAT!! There was so much to choose from so I decided to go with the fire roll and it was the BEST sushi roll I've ever had!!! I've also had my traditional California roll, but also got the California rainbow roll and OMG!!!! Will definitely be coming back for more!!!

This place is awesome! Best sushi ever and we indulged in their "all you can eat" option. It was well worth it and the pricing was very reasonable. Such a great way to try a variety of items and all of them were delicious. Great staff also.

My favorite place in Carson for sushi. Everyone is so nice and the Nevada roll is my favorite! With fresh lemon slices so super thin you get just enough lemon at the end. The Nationals signature role is delicious if you like spicy and also the dynamite roll is another delicious spicy roll that has cilantro which is a nice fresh addition to sushi. The place is clean. HIGHLY recommended.

This was the best sushi, green tea ice cream, & edamame my wife & I have ever had. So clean, so nice, and the FRIENDLIEST, most accommodating staff EVER! Thank you so much for incredible food & an amazing experience! Love your crazy wild mustang horse friends from California!

By Far best Sushi in Carson. Muscles are super hot and tender. Flavors of rolls are superb and quality of fish for nigiri is extremely well. Best sushi I've had in a very long time.

If you are looking for good fresh Sushi Nationals is the place to go. Not only is the food fresh, the family that owns and runs Nationals is always so friendly and welcoming. My favorite roll is the Narionals Special and my husband enjoys the hand rolls with Soy paper. The prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. My husband and I frequent here often and we think Anthony and the rest of the team are so nice. We always look forward to our next visit.

The best sushi in town! They have lots of variety to choose from, and each one of them is delicious! It's a small restaurant, usually not too filled up. Sometimes it can get really full, though. Overall I definitely reccomend you visit this restaurant!

Never thought I'd like sushi, but this place was the bomb! The flavors were vibrant and everything tasted fresh. Be warned about the raw shrimp🍣; it's not for my taste buds!🤢

We have been eating here once a week for years. Everything is always fresh and never really a long wait. Good customer service all around. We love this place and will continue to eat here for years to come.

Great service and yummy sushi! Everyone in there is so nice and friendly....even the other customers in there are nice. I reccomend the volcano roll and crystal shrimp roll.
