Red's Old 395 Grill

Fun place to go. Large number of menu selections. We had the fried bread as an appetizer. Shrimp scampi and Shepards pie for entrees. Huge servings and tasted great. The shepards pie had puff pastry covering the normal mashed potato topping and it was a little spicy. I would certainly order it again.

My family and I visit Red's at least once a month. I would recommend the wood smoked salmon, chicken piccata, Friday meatloaf special, or skinny chicken tacos. Everything on the menu is great, though. The chocolate cake and bread pudding are both delicious! The atmosphere of Red's is wonderful.

This place was awesome..great food, service, and atmosphere. I had the jalapeno bombs, which were delicious. The Ceasar salad with salmon was very good. The best thing in the whole place is the brisket. It was wet and amazing. The smoked chicken was almost as good as the brisket. Cornbread, beans...MUAH!! Portions were very generous. Update for 2nd visit on 11/24 in photos.

I've been here a few times over the years, and it's always an enjoyable time, with great food.

I personally wouldn't touch most of their BBQ (not a fan of West Coast BBQ attempts), and I still give it 5 stars for the rest of their menu.

We love eating at unique dining venues while traveling - the type of places that you can't find at home that offers the kind of food you enjoy wherever you are. Red's Old 95 Grill, ideally located in Carson City between Lake Tahoe and Reno, is a great example of what we enjoy. Not only do you get great barbeque here, but you enjoy it in an Old West museum setting and are served by a super friendly staff. We loved it and highly recommend it to travelers and locals.

One of the best salmon I've had. My only regret is giving my 9-year-old grandson the responsibility to take my leftovers home. When I got home I looked around and asked him where my leftover food was. Lol. It's still sitting there on the really cool wooden slab bar table. Service was fast friendly and accommodating. $45 for one adult salmon meal and one child -steak meal. Best place in town to play 👀🕵‍♂ (eye) "I Spy" with your kids or grandkids!

The decor is the big story here. Amazing stuff hanging everywhere with mining and fire decor. Lovecthe inside if this place and the old fashioned bar is amazing looking. Our lunch was good, don't get me wrong, enjoyed the sandwiches, and the service was very much on point. Would go to see that again. Thank you

This place is absolutely amazing! The service was excellent. Our server Christine always made sure our drinks were full and always came by and checked on us. The place has a way cool atmosphere, Old fire wagons pulled by horses are all over the place. You cant stop looking around from floor to ceiling. The food was phenomenal. Had an order of the fry bread with ranch dipping sauce as an appetizer. Ordered the bacon cheese burger and fries. This burger was absolutely huge! Cooked to perfection and was delicious in every bite. Looking forward to returning hopefully this time will get some dessert as well.

Stopped in after a long day of traveling during the tail end of a blizzard. We were very pleased with the service and the atmosphere was really fun! Local history reflects in the decore and the menu is diverse. I had the brisket grilled cheese, and would get again!! My partner had the pulled pork sandwich and we both loved the flavor. BBQ sauce on the table is a good sign your in the right place. Prices are fair, big TVs for sports and non alcoholic options for beers. Seemed like a unique spot and would really recommend .

Phenomenal place! From burgers to smoked meat and steaks. Must have to visit. Bonus - interior decorations remind you of an old museum.

First time here! We were a large party with reservations. We were immediately seated and given water's and drinks. Once everyone arrived, we ordered. The food was good and reasonably priced. Our server was on top of everything. Good job!!

Had an awesome experience here and will be back. Food is good and huge portions, server was very attentive, and lots of cool stuff to look at...not to mention the great beer selection. Will be stopping every time I'm in CC

I’ve always loved this place! The service is hit or miss sometimes but when I went Saturday night, I had a great time! Our server, Jena, was very helpful and caring. There are some vegetarian options as well! I got the Cobb salad without the meats! The ambiance is super cool and they have the best fries.
Make sure to call 2 hours ahead for a reservation.

What an experience! Great food, friendly service and rustic, western decor. Feast for the eyes inside. Very fun place. Great for families too!

This place is awesome. As a train and Old West enthusiast, this place is right up my alley. The service and food are excellent as well.

I had the two-meat BBQ combo of ribs and chicken. Rather than pulled chicken it's a smoked half chicken. It comes with slaw, beans, and a giant piece of cornbread. All of it was excellent and plenty enough for two people.

Very clever (and deceiving) to put the reverse of a Women's Room sign on the back of the MEN'S restroom door. You got me! Thanks for the mild panic. 😂

Seriously, this place is a home run and one of the few places that truly merit all 5 stats.

I was driving through Carson City, Nevada for my first time today on my way to a business conference. I stopped to grab a to-go meal at red's. Minus the 45 minute wait. I was really impressed overall with the food and the interior of the restaurant is probably the best I've seen anywhere in the country. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent dinner last night! We had a dozen people, which isn't easy to serve...Hugo did a stellar job! We devoured 2 different platters (the variety of the combo for 3 and 4 was great!). The salads were so fresh! BBQ sauce was perfect and the cornbread was outta sight! Can't wait to go back and try more things! Thumbs up!

I needed some good food and company, I reached out to my best friend in Carson and asked about this place. I'm just working in South Lake Tahoe for the winter season but enjoy meeting up with my friend over food. The building is cool, the interior is fun and the food was really good. It took awhile before anyone came to wait on us, mind you it was 3:30pm. I ordered the two meat combo with ribs and brisket. I hoped for a spicy BBQ sauce but there's just one style here. Other BBQ places I've visited have at least two or more sauce options so that was a con for me as I like something a little spicy and I'm not going to ruin my BBQ with Tabasco.
I also visited the bathroom, which was in good working order and something I do pay attention to if I'm using it.
Lastly, we could have been "thanked" as we headed out. There were several employees just chatting with each other, a simple thank you would have been a nice touch.
I would definitely come back here.

Do yourself a favor & when you're in Carson City, NV pay a visit to this old west themed BBQ house. Complete with fire engine & a stagecoach hanging front the ceiling. Check out this place with it's eclectic atmosphere & great bbq too boot! Get there early or you'll wait 45-60 mins for a booth. They do offer serving in the bar. (21 & up) or the outside covered patio with propane heaters for the chilly nites. All & all, I rate REDS 395 WORLD FAMOUS BBQ as a 9½. You won't be disappointed. Trust me, I never am.

So this place was a special treat! My husband's always wanted to take me here. We finally got a chance to today. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and attentive. I would really recommend this place. They make a good cocktail, and have a ton of beers! Wonderful atmosphere! Just look up and you'll see a lot of American History right above your head! I'm looking forward to going back there again!
