What a great and EASY new and ACCESSIBLE trail, right off Easthampton Center - on East ST. About 1 plus miles. Completely gravel unless you take the 20 minute Kestral Trail Loop which is dirt. Views to Williamsburg and Goshen. Seems well used - parking has 10 spaces or so and two handicapped. Good drainage and some nice benches along the way with picnic tables at the top. Even people hiking with babies in backpacks.

This trailhead on East Street officially opened in September 2022. It is now well marked with signage and a new parking lot for several cars. The new trail is an excellent gravel path that takes you a little ways up, about 5-10 minutes walk, just far enough to meet up with the Mt.Tom State Reservation trails. Once you reach the end of this short access trail, you can cross a paved utility access road with more signage pointing you towards trails to the Eyrie House Ruins, Mt.Tom visitor center, New England Scenic Trail, and more. I love being able to now access these trails from our side of town, instead of having to drive to trailheads in Holyoke. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. The trailhead parking is tucked between two houses, so please be respectful of the neighbors.

This is a nicely graded new trail that goes uphill. It leads to the north part of the Mount Tom Range where the trails are more challenging.

They really did an awesome job with this trail! Access trail is 100% wheelchair accessible with picnic tables at the top to accommodate. Beautiful area.
