My wife and I, brought our newborn to San Jose, to enjoy their delicious quesadillas & world famous enchiladas - WOW, some of the best tasting Mexican food with FRESHest ingredients. Our amazing server Andrès let us know, they prepare almost everything in house daily. You can taste it when you eat there, one of our favorite local spots. Excellent service, mouth watering, flavorful food, yummy drinks and clean 🧼. Who can ask for anything more? Wait, I can! I love listening to music 🎼 in the background. To me it adds to the ambiance and the overall dining experience. We found this place by accident because we were actually looking 👀 for another but I’m glad we did. We definitely enjoyed our food and I hope you do too!

Sweet spot to eat, atmosphere is lovely, music is nice and food is quite the treat. Just had a salad with shrimp 🍤🍤🍤 And wow there were a lot of shrimp in my salad. Generous amount of everything (but I do recommend if you have any salad to add a sauce with it...feels kinda try without, or do more ask for more avocado) overall I would definitely recommend. !!!!! :)))

Their frozen strawberry is truly the best. Usually a little too strong so either I share it with my husband or ask for a drizzle of tequila as it’s way too much for me.

Their lime margaritas are good but I personally love the strawberry mix much better.

Their chicken nachos are excellent! That’s usually my go to.

Been here about 4 or 5 times now. The staff there are so friendly and the food is fantastic. My boyfriend and I come here about every other week. When someone suggests they want to go out for great Mexican food, we always say “San Jose!”

Another update: Been several times since previous updates. Working around the menu, but last night (Saturday) went for the tried-and -true fajita shrimp salad/taco. So good. Place was pretty empty for a Saturday at 8pm, dunno what was up with that. Seated immediately, which I won't complain about!

If you get a craving to eat a taco bowl, well you can't go wrong here.
Had thr Fajita Shrimp Taco this time, and there were a ton of huge perfectly grilled shrimpies in a giant fried taco bowl. I was in heaven. Left in a wheelbarrow. So full.

Very good! Left stuffed, and cheaper than most of our other haunts... recommend the chimichanga, and the fishbowl :)

Great happy hour! I got a 32oz lime margarita for $7.50 ( happy hour 3-7). They were not stingy with the alcohol and it lasted the entire 2 hours we were there. My girlfriend got a $16 half pitcher of sangria (not a happy hour drink), while expensive this is a much better deal then buying it buy the glass ($6). Service was prompt and courtious. We were given free chips and salsa moments after we put in our drink order and our server continually checked in on us. Food tasted delicious and dessert was worth trying. My girlfriend said it was the best sopapillas she'd ever had and I enjoyed my first ever encounter with flan. Highlight of the night, the restaurant isn't very large, but we were never rushed to leave. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely come back.

What a great Mexican restaurant. It was originally Vallarta's, but now it's San Jose Mexican restaurant. It is exceptional. Andres was an excellent waiter. He made us the best drinks. We had a Sea Breeze and a Bay Breeze. Very accommodating! The chips were crisp and tasty. The salsa fabulous! I ordered the grilled tilapia which was an incredibly generous portion. My husband ordered the Mexican supreme dinner. He loved it! I would eat here again in a heartbeat. The best was the outdoor dining, under a canopy. What a great restaurant! It's located in the cutest little village of many different restaurants, right off 589/ Suncoast Parkway. Very easy to get to. Plenty of parking. Huge seating area inside.

Every dish, even the chips and salsa, unexpectedly impressed us. Even the horchata was on another level. It felt like each dish and drink was upgraded to perfection. Throughout our experience we kept saying, "This is so good." The interior design of the place is artful and kept squeaky clean. This was our first visit but it's undeniably number one on our list for Mexican food.

Emma was our server- she was great at suggestions and clarifications. The beef tacos were so flavorful thought we were in Mexico! The flautas were scrumptious and the hubby refused to share his guacamole it was so delish (or so he said lol) will not bypass this place EVER again! Our G-daughter said the soft tacos with chicken and bacon were the best she ever had. Mom loved her crown and ginger ale!!!

San Jose Mexican Restaurant impressed me very much. I had camarones mojo, ajo ( a schrimp dinner). The schrimp was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The rice and accompanying salad were freshly prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
My only objection is the service can be improved. I asked the server to bring out my meal after I am finished with my appetizer (so it wouldn’t sit and get cool). While enjoying my appetizer my meal was brought out and sat there. It made me feel rushed: the restaurant wasn’t busy. I gave a preference for my beverage that was ignored.

However I enjoyed the experience thanks to the good chef running the kitchen. I highly recommend San Jose Mexican Restaurant you wouldn’t be disappointed.

My husband took our family out for diner to San Jose Mexican Restaurant on a Saturday night. Everyone was really nice since we first walked into the door. Our server Andres was so attentive and kind 👌🏼 The grilled chicken was quite tasty and the carne asada was alright. My kids also enjoyed the quesadilla and cheese burger. We also loved their fried ice cream 😋 I’d definitely recommend this place 👌🏼

Came in last night with the husband after work the place was full when we got there around 5pm. Sat at the bar for a few minutes waiting for a table then got seated outside on patio. I got the Steak fajitas and a wonderful margarita made by our server Stephanie.
Tip: ask for an extra shot of tequila in house margarita. Husband got Fajitas San Jose, he loved it.
Service was prompt and Drinks were amazing.

Hands down the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. EVERYTHING was amazing from the chips & salsa to the margaritas and the main meals. I had a combo platter with tostada, Chile relleno and a Tamale and my husband got a platter with 5 different tacos and we loved everything we were served. I look for tamales everywhere I go and these are the best I've had probably ever! Nothing wrong with this restaurant. The staff was also very friendly and the prices were more then fair.. I'm mad I don't live closer so I could go here frequently!

This is the best Mexican food we've found in the area. Service was great, the food was delicious and the margaritas were perfect! The interior is decorated nicely so the whole place has a good vibe. Also, they played Bob Ross the whole time, which honestly is just fantastic.

What a nice little family restaurant. Sol is fabulous. The food is really good and filling. The drinks are good and strong! Looking forward to our next visit trying something different. 😀
