Beautiful beach! It was part of a tour out of Tarpon Springs. Spent 30 minutes on the beach and combed for shells. The water is beautiful and warm (72°F). Highly recommend the tour (Spongeorama) it is a boat ride from the spongedocks to the island. You see wildlife and the captain and crew guy are funny and very knowledgeable about the local history. I will def. Be returning to do this again!

Anclote is a beautiful island to take your family for a picnic, or just a walk on the beach. There is easy access to pull a boat rite up to the beach. all along the Gulf side and on the north and south ends. There is also a ferry boat that brings people to the south end. I hear it is very affordable. It's definitely a must if you live around the area. There is also great fishing around the island.

Great boat ride out. Very peaceful island. We saw so many dolphins the guide said “it’s raining dolphins !” We also found many beautiful shells along the beach.

We’ve been here a number of time and thoroughly enjoy it. There is quite a lot of beach extending south to north. Anchor down and enjoy the day.

Beautiful north cost with plenty of room to anchor boats without being more than 30 feet from sandy Beach. Typically a calm area without too much of the rowdy boat crowd.

This is a sandbar in the Gulf and it’s beautiful, there is a nice selection of shells.

I must have come to this place at least a dozen times with family and friends. Having a boat definitely makes it much easier to frequent this place and enjoy the multiple things there is to do in this place. Our first trip we had a nice picnic right on one of the sandy beaches and then went walking the trails. Another time we went around the island on our sailboat until we found a nice spot to stop for a nice lunch and siesta on a hammock. We loved this place so much that we wanted to try the primitive camping. Camping turn in to a true adventure as we picked the wrong time (just before a cold front rolled in) however it remains one very memorable occasions we have gone through as a family. Definitely one of my favorite spots in this area.

Very nice island, recommend going not on weekend or holiday unless you like close neighbors. Red tide seems to be hitting, most fish disappeared with low tide but came in on high so keep that in mind. Around 4:30pm dead fish gone. There was a manatee who came right up to us. Dont touch them but was still very cool. Saw a pod of 5 dolphins. There is an outhouse but... I had so much fun.

It's a beautiful island. You can only get there by boat. The water is pretty and clear. We saw several different sizes of stingrays swim by us, a couple manatees and dolphins, bunches of shells and different birds. We were wade fishing and caught speckled trout, skipjack and mackerel. I didn't get to explore the island so hopefully next time.

Beautiful island with really great beaches on the north end and really clear water. Just beware if you camp here - if there is no wind the bugs will carry you away! Other than that I highly recommend it especially if you own your own boat and can hang out for a little while.

I've paddled to this island by kayak and paddle board. I've taken a boat to this island. Every time I've been I have thoroughly enjoyed it!

Camping is available on the north end of the island and there is a self composting toilet. There is a lighthouse on the south end of the island with a small sheltered area for picnics. I've caught some giant fish from this island and enjoyed some great camping trips.

Beware for the novice Florida adventurer....there are tons of bugs so bring spray, there are tons of raccoons so protect your food!

Beautiful day shell hunting! We used Odyssey Cruises to get us there and had a great, inexpensive, very fun and informative ride over! PS. Keep your eyes peeled for the dolphins on the way!!

Beautiful and peaceful key with nice beach and the lighthouse as background. The only way to get here is with a tour boat. We saw 2 pods of dolphins! 2 hour tour was totally worth it!

This is a lovely little island only access is by boat. Famous for collecting sea shells. We got there by taking a dolphin cruise from the sponge docks in tarpon springs. Only 18.00 great price for 2 hours. The crew were very informative.
