Sponge Exchange

Shop for tourist junk in my backyard. Great date and friend time place. Come for the sponges and other Greek entertainment and interesting clothes, soaps, jewelry, food, etc

My friends and I had a great time there. We rode the bikes down there for something else nearby and since I've never been to the Sponge Docks, we rode on over. Next time I'd love to stay longer and really see what it's about. We walked around for about an hour, had some ice cream, then took off. It was really a fun place to visit!

I am always in Tarpon Springs! Great food at Hallas Again! Did some Shopping. Always a good time!

I went there with a friend of mine to a place called "Mammas" a Greek Restaurant late at night ( around 12 am) to listen to a live group that plays there old style Greek music every Friday and Saturday. I have to tell you guys that as a modern European who grew up on EDM and American artists like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and Bad Boys, this music was something else and this group makes this a very special place. The music was unbelievable and very hard to describe it but it created the atmosphere of love, happiness, and just peace! It's great for a date night or just going alone to listen. I don't think a lot of people know about this Greek restaurant turning to a wine bar at night. The group is made out of 3 people. A singer, a guy who plays a guitar, and my dear friend Bo, who plays the electronic piano, which is like the rest of the instruments that he controls all by himself and I mean to the tune! When he first showed me what he does for a living, I understood but didn't get it. It took at least 6 meetings seeing him talk about his work and playing music on his phone to understand it, but once I saw it live, guys wow, I mean, wow, old style Greek music, and the singer was so special too! I mean, it was just so lovely and refreshing to listen to them play and the way that Gorge Clooney style guy sang, so slow and soulful, but nothing like New Orleans when I say soulful. It has nothing to do with Jazz. It doesn't even sound like it! It's something else, and you just gonna have to check it out for yourselves! Have fun!

A place full of colors. It is a good place to visit as a family. If you like some tranquility this will be a good place.

Great place to shop, Eat and drink

My first trip to Tarpon Springs was on April 10th, so curiosity got the better of me when I saw the sign that said "Sponge Exchange". It was like wandering into the labyrinth of the goblin king. Every turn brought something different. Like the glitter crocs or the color-changing tee shirt I found. Seriously, check this place out. You never know what you might find.

The green eyed bandit! She is on point! Sit in her section!!!

❤Wonderful!!!❤ A great place. You can go on dolphin site seeing boat rides. You have soooo much divine food. The shops are local families. It's so charming!!!

A favorite new place, a nice small town

Great shopping! When have entertainment. Was there a couple weeks ago and was so very impressed with a violinist who should be on America's got talent! He was awesome! Love the sponges, use them daily......kids enjoyed the aquarium too!
A must see if you're around the area!

Great place to go have a beer at Anclote Brews or with George next door. Love that it's a bit closed off, so the kids can run wild and we don't have to worry about cars or all the people on the sidewalk. Love this little nook on the docks.

Some really good restaurants. Not Mama's. The food was under cooked, very expensive and not worth the money. Go to Katerina's, Hellas, Mr. Souvlaki

Great place to take friends and family. There's a variety of little shops from olive oils, wine to leather goods and quaint odds and ends. Oh and the sponges of course! Enjoy belly dancing on Saturday nights with yummy Greek food.

I love the little shops all up & down the street at Tarpon Springs. This 1 had some beautiful brass mermaids. Carved wooden tree faces too. Super cool & not bad prices either
