Drove from North County just for the sandwich! My family loved it! The Italian is delicious! Definitely recommend and coming back!! The food and service was awesome! Very friendly !

I always go to the market, which everyone is always nice but today I had the Steak n Cheese deli sandwich, No onions, AND ITS THE BEST SUB I EVER HAD. I almost went back to get another because the first bite was so good. It does have jalapeños and banana peppers in it and I love that 🤤🤤🤤❤ get you one ASAP.

I love a store you don't have to tell them what you came for they already know.

First time trying Shapiro's Market and I'll definitely be a regular now. The BEST potato salad I've ever had. Sandwich was solid too! Overall, amazing place!

Shapiro’s is a St Louis icon. I always make a point to bring out of towners here. Every sandwich this place produces is respectfully buss’in, and there are new sandwiches all the time. The snack and drink selection is incredible, but the food is only 5% of the reason why you should go there. The other 95% is for the charisma and gregariousness of the owner. Regulars know that you will get treated to world class customer service and maybe even a succulent propagation. Forget every other status symbol you know, the true sign of success is getting on a first name basis with the owner.

Stopped in for some breakfast this morning and was helped by an extremely nice gentleman. Had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Eggs were cooked nicely, bacon was perfect. But that bread, wow! Great bread, soft yet chewy. Very clean spot and has all essentials. Reminds me of the bodegas in NYC that I used to frequent. Stop in, it's a gem in a neighborhood that doesn't have a lot to eat in that immediate area.

Excellent service, warm friendly atmosphere and the most delicious Boars Head sandwiches!!! Great kitchen and pantry staples, beer and wine! A+ for convenience. Plus Shapiro’s is on Post Mates so I can get delivery. All around awesome spot in the Central West End. Thanks for all you contribute to the community!!

Great place for a sandwich or to just pick up some deli meat, a few essentials or a bottle of wine. Friendly and helpful atmosphere and clear regard for customers. I’m a big fan. The FiFi is my favorite sandwich for sure but always keep an eye on the daily special.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of the best deli's in all of the CWE! The owner is awesome, he remembers all of his repeat customers and even goes out of his way to make them all feel welcomed even when they are crazy busy! The deli products are always fresh and generous portions. When he's working the bbq grill you're in for a treat!
So if you haven't been there yet, stop in a try a sandwich you won't regret it!

Amazing deli!!!! Owner is a great guy and very inviting. He recommended the blackened turkey sub, and I was so glad he did. All the ingredients were fresh and it had the right amount of spice. Will definitely return

This is my favorite sandwhich shop in my area because the sandwhiches are delicious. Jasmine makes the best sandwhiches and gives such excellent customer service all of the time with all of her customer's. The owner is a very nice,sweet guy with a great sense of humor and knows his customer's by name!❤❤

I used to go to Shapiro's market when I was a child, teen, adult, it was okay and pretty convenient. Now it's the best little market I go more often now than ever. The sandwiches are always good, the service is super good. My family, friends, and coworkers enjoy lunch from Shapiro's. My favorites are the chicken salad sandwich, porksteak sandwich, and the Italian sandwich.

A little known gem, that is by far the best sandwich in Central West End. It looks like a convenience store from at the front, but at the back is New York Style Deli in the heart of STL. Just head and shoulders above the rest, taste and quality wise and much better value for money. No contest versus all the local chain sandwich shops, like Jimmy Johns, Pickles, Subway and Snarfs. Friendlier staff too!

Staff is very friendly and the sandwiches are amazing. The Steak and Cheese and Cuban are my two favorites. Seriously no sandwich should be as good as the steak and cheese.

Awesome local market. Unbelievable sandwiches that are fresh made by a short soft spoken lady that is incredibly nice. Boar's head meat and cheese. Prices on sandwiches and meat is low compared to schnucks or any grocery chain. Check it out at least once.

I go here at least once a week for lunch, excellent selection of sandwiches and everybody at the store is super friendly and easy to chat with. Could not recommend a local spot higher.

So Shapiro's has been on my delivery route for about 2 years and I reworked my route so that this could be my last stop on Friday just so I can eat here and take my time. The sandwiches are incredible and there are new specials everyday. Highly recommend stopping in. Get some Red Hot Riplets with your sandwich. (I sell Red Hot Riplets)

This place offers the best sandwich in town and a fantastic selection of food products with reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend Shapiro's market.
