I Love the owner she’s very straight forward and honest about the dogs. I came in there ready to get my second fur baby with my husband and we fell in love with this girl!
They also helped convince my husband to let me get her 😅💕 he was worried but now he loves her and she’s a perfect fit into the family!
He’s even napping on the floor with her and our other fur baby Hahaha

My son and I went to adopt two new cats from the animal shelter. The staff was amazing. We wound up adopting Scotch who had only been in the shelter for a day, and Fluffy who had been there for a while. Fluffy whom is a female was so chill and sweet. Scotch was the same way. The staff shared with us their stories. Fluffy whos name has been changed to Whiskey to go with her brother Scotch has settled into the house and loves our dogs. These two are absolutely the the perfect fit for our family. Thank you for all that you do for these fur babies.

Lady is curt and to the point. Pushed me to get my health tested, embarked, purpose bred, OFA cleared ethical working dog that I've thrown thousands into and has won best of breed in 4 states, spayed. Like really pushed hard. I understand the mentality. But no, I cannot find what her pups (from the single litter I intend to get out of her) would give me from a dog at a shelter.

Otherwise the place is clean and nice, and I do think this lady is necesary for this area and the huge overpopulation we have, but anyone who isn't a BYB, beware you'll be called selfish to your face here even if you're coming to try to help, donate or foster. The BYBs deserve it but imo ethical breeders do not. As rare as they are here.

Small shelter but great location and nice staff. The place is very well care for, the animals had all their needs taken care of, space and cleanliness of the kennels was good, food and water was present and doggies and cats were very relaxed and not wild like in some other shelters. They do a good job taking care of those fur babies. I can't speak about the process of adopting the dogs or cats however we came in to check the place out and donate some items for the dogs like food, toys, pee pads and some other things. They need some volunteers to take on some tasks so if you have the time and the desire to help come on in and inquire within.

We adopted a large dog here. He was very handsome and did well on a leash but did not show much emotion at the shelter.

The staff was very accommodating. They spent time answering my questions over the phone before we traveled to the shelter. They stayed in touch with me over the phone regarding our overnight trip itinerary. When we arrived, they took us out back to interact with the dog. They were generous with their time and candidly answered questions about the dog. We never felt rushed.

They charged $10 to adopt him ($2 per shelter work day?). I had to take him to a vet before leaving Louisiana because I lived out-of-state, and I had to have him neutered within 30 days per the adoption contract.

We brought him home to discover a very well-behaved, extremely affectionate, playful dog! He was housebroken, stayed off of furniture, did not even get into things left out on the counter, and does not bark at strangers or their dogs! He blends right into our family.

We passed many sweet, tail-wagging dogs on our way out, who are hoping to find their forever home. No one seems to be promoting these homeless dogs to the public, though. I only learned about our dog from a stranger's post on social media, someone who had visited the shelter.

Suggestion:
Promote these sweet dogs somehow to increase their chance of adoption/life.

Local animal lovers would volunteer to take pet photos, create a shelter adoption Website, and post pet profiles on social media, for free!

VERY friendly workers! I notice a lot of people come here to adopt animals, so we decided to adopt a cat! We got Minnie (I think her previous name was snowflake?) back in late November and adopting was the best decision we ever made! She’s so precious and very lovable. I know it is a shelter but my only recommendation would be to serve soft food to the kittens/younger cats because she was a little underweight for her age/size.

The staff works hard to have a clean facility and get dogs adopted or back to owners. It takes special ppl to do all the tasks involved in this type of work. Until you work in this field you can't fully appreciate how hard these ppl work to do the best for the animals. God bless them 4 all they do! Thank you!

Doing the best they can with the staff they have. They truly care for the animals they bring in.
Even though they do put animals down, they really try to find them loving homes.
