Mud Bugs of Leesville

Lovely family ran establishment! I went on Wednesday and they said it was unusually busy and apologized in advance if the food was slow to come out. Nothing took too long at all and everything tasted amazing. Fresh, hot and filling. I forgot to take a picture of the fried boudin balls but they were SO good!!

This is the first place went to eat upon moving to Louisiana (July 21, 2023). Although crawfish season was over, we had some awesome food. The service was phenomenal and the restaurant was well kept. They do not serve alcohol, but have sweet tea and ample soft drinks. We even got an off menu item that was delicious (crawfish etouffee). The inside is somewhat small, so I can see it getting packed, but we went for lunch and had no problem finding seating. Their boudin balls were top notch. Best restaurant I've eaten at in a while and absolutely recommend checking them out.

Small mom and pops type place, wonder friendly owner and staff, banter with the guests like they are family! Pops came out shook hands and introduced himself, true to life, what a treat! Food was awesome, prices more than fair.

The crawfish here are fire 🔥🔥🔥. New favorite place. And the waitress was super friendly.

I stopped in for takeout, and it was crazy busy at the time. I was told the wait could be 30 minutes, but it wasn't that long. I'd rather wait less than promised than more. I ordered the seafood sampler. There was a little mixup with my order, but they made it right! Customer service exceeded my expectations. The owner was so nice and apologetic. The food tasted awesome. I'm guessing the boiled seafood must be good by the number of people in there ordering it. Will definitely stop again should my travels bring me back to town.

Super sweet staff, SUPER sweet tea, and super spicy crawfish.

Got 5lb of crawfish and 1/2lb shrimp. Everything was hot and fresh. Small, medium, and large crawfish sizes in the 5lbs.

Only thing I'd like is a more detailed menu of the crawfish platters. But waitress explained everything to us, so it really wasnt a huge issue.

Awesome establishment, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and the crawfish were amazing. Great seasoning and out quick! There is also a smartly placed wash basin before the bathrooms allowing for cleaning up to be super quick and not jamming the bathroom. Interior was very clean and the staff helped my friends understand how to eat crawfish with no judgement at all.

If you are at Polk/Johnson or near Leesville swing in and enjoy this establishment. You will not be disappointed.

The place serves it's purpose. Has crawfish ✓, crawdads are delish ✓. Not much else to say if you want mud Bugs in the Leesville area you should probably go here.

PS. It's BYOB, I love the concept of doing what your good at and not trying to please all. Go here to eat crawfish and bring your own 6 pack.

So check this out. I didn't know they did major catering. We were trying to order enough crawfish and shrimp to feed about 250 people. We were planning on going to multiple restaurants to accomplish this but Mud Bugs of Leesville was able to fulfill the entire order. If I recall correctly we ordered approximately 400 pounds of crawfish and 40 pounds of shrimp. It came with corn as well. If you are going to attempt an order of this capacity give them a few days notice though. Great experience!

It was a nice hometown feel, Great service and Crawfish platter was seasoned and juicy.

Boudin balls, alligator sausage and crawfish po-boy was delicious. Service was great. Very clean and welcoming place. Will definitely be coming back to this place.

I ordered the fried pickles, Gator sausage and crawfish po boy. It was great. I asked about the Gumbo but the cook said to come back in another couple of days and She would make it.

I love the food. It isn't over seasoned like most seafood restaurants and you can actually taste the seafood. As good as the food is... I love the ladies who work there already. They are very helpful outside of just caring for customers. I'm new to this area but that's a good thing because I'll be seeing them again. They are nice ladies, they just talk funny. 😂

Had the fish poboy & crayfish po boy. Some of the best po boys we have had in a long time. Love that the food is not covered in salt. Tasted fresh and clean. Will definitely eat there again.

Food always good. Momma and the staff are good. Little slow on getting things from kitchen only reason for a 4 and not a 5. The furniture is a little old and needs updating

Heard about this place from a friend, was a good experience. Great flavor of the Alligator Sausage and the Large Shrimp platter was more than enough.

Like their seasoning better than most of the other places. Their service this year is great also.
