I picked up delivery from Wei Hong a week ago and their food might be my favorite Chinese food that I have tried in the St Louis area. I ordered the Singapore Mei Fun and it had so much flavor. I asked for extra spicy, which it wasn’t very spicy but it was still very good. I tried the pork bun from the bakery and the sesame ball. Those were both very good. My picky four year old was even a fan of the sesame bowl. I will definitely be coming back. The prices were really good too

Came here when my fiancee and I were door dashing. The smells and atmosphere were overwhelmingly welcoming. We tried the pork buns and breakfast bun and realized we never had real Chinese food before. We fell in love immediately. Hopefully they will be catering our wedding next year!

Pretty cool restaurant. Great Chinese food menu with a lot of vegetarian options. The wait time is about 15 minutes on a typical dinner to-go. The bakery has some amazing ham and egg baked rolls. The bakery kind of reminds of you of the options at the keloche factory with the fresh stuffed rolls. Also, the dine in area is very chill, round table setup, with a tv in the front. I recommend the vegetarian egg rolls. Great snack on the go.

We saw the word “bakery” and walked in without expectations. We ordered a little bit of almost everything and we devoured it within minutes. I still can’t believe how delicious the BBQ Pork Bun was. 5/5 stars any day.

ALL The bakery counter items are fresh, not stale or overly dense. I've tried 1 of everything in the case. Best fried potstickers I ever had . Even the sauce has a genuine pepper flake flavor. Giddyup.

I've been coming here for Dim Sum (weekends only) for a long time. The menu is clear, and easy to read, and I enjoy the variety of options available. Everything always tastes fresh and light, especially the pastries. Cozy interior and while I prefer coming in winter, summer is also excellent. I love seeing the ducks roast near the front door.

Meat in pork buns are tangy, sour, and dyed red now for some reason. Olive Blvd. sister location makes them proper & has much larger selection of pastries.

I order from this location as last minute dinner. The food was hot, fresh, and good yo reheat. Was not disappointed.

Bakery goods to go are excellent. Great steamed pork buns, siu mai, shrimp dumpling, baked custard buns, and shrimp crepe. Perfect way to build a dim sum feast at home. Extremely budget friendly as well, if you're looking for that. Enough food for two people to over indulge and have some leftovers was less than $30. I would cheerfully have paid twice the cost for that quality and quantity.

Edit: since that review, I've now ordered once for dinner from their main Chinese-American menu too, and it was also excellent. BBQ pork and egg fried rice was just sumptuous with umami flavor. Beef chow fun, dry style, had exactly the smoky wok flavor and toothsome chewy texture I remember from my favorite place back in Chinatown SF. General Tso's chicken was just a perfected version of that dish. Tender chicken, delicate crispy breading, spicy-sweet sauce with enough sliced chilis floating around to give it some respectable heat, though not aggressively so (I like my Thai food medium spicy, for context, and I'd consider this to be mild comparatively, but way spicier than the bland dishes that are apparently well loved in the Midwest.)

This is my new favorite Chinese-American in StL, by a wide margin.

This place is amazing. The food is phenomenal! They offer Peking Duck with a preorder and they have roasted pork that is delicious. On my next visit I'll try the traditional baked goods. They have a custard pastry that I cannot wait to try.

It's located across from Jay's International, a beloved neighborhood market for its extensive selection of international cuisine. I think dine in is closed. I originally got delivery. Try the Yang Chow Rice and the double meat Chow Fun. Today is more Yang. I can't decide if the scrumptious pork is better as is or should I add it to say a mess of Greens. Asian traditional meets African American Soul food. Always a beautiful cultural experience. ❤

Really good. Good prices, filling, complex flavors. Mapo tofu tasted like it was made by mom, and the sesame balls had a crunchy skin and a bouncy chewy inside with smooth semi-sweet filling. Perfect for a treat!

I was craving for soup and they offer so many noodles soups that you can add what you like in them.

We’ve been eating at Wei Hong for over 20 years, even after leaving St. Louis, and it remains one of the “must-do’s” when we visit. By far our favorite Cantonese restaurant.
Our favorites:
- Salt and pepper squid - I get this dish at nearly every Cantonese restaurant I try and this remains the best version I’ve ever had. Crispy, with nice soft onions/peppers and just the right amount of salt/pepper.
- Hong sue tofu - char siu, bok choy, fried tofu in a brown sauce hot pot.
- Beef with crispy noodles
- chopped beef with rice
And of course, have to finish it off with sesame balls or bao.

My girls love the BBQ pork buns, we go anytime we’re in the area. All it takes is getting on 40 and as soon as they what direction we’re going they ask if we can go to “that one bakery with the good food” and I know exactly what they’re talking about. I haven’t tried the duck yet but it’s on my list of things to try, they look so good hanging there. So yeah, don’t go if you’re vegetarian or vegan, probably won’t the first thing you’ll see after walking through the doorway. Other than that, it’s a great place to grab a bite to eat if your walking down Grand.

Wei Hong is my favorite traditional Chinese restaurant in south St. Louis, and is one of the few restaurants that is consistently good each and every time; we've never had a bad experience. The barbecue duck, pork, and poached chicken are divine, and the egg tofu dishes are addictive. The fish and vegetable dishes are on point! You can also get shrimp with heads on or heads off. And the weekend Dim Sum assortment is delectable!!! Wei Hong is a St. Louis institution. I hope they never close their doors.

I have been a patron for over 20 years. With over 100 menu items there is truly something for everyone, and it never gets old. Wei Hong is our comfort food, our favorite place to bring out-of-town friends, and the place where we celebrate milestones.
When the pandemic hit they went to carryout only immediately, and one of only 3 that I have patronized this year, because I trust their safety protocols. I recommend them to everyone, because the quality, flavor, and friendliness cannot be matched anywhere.

Very delicious and authentic Chinese food. We go here for lunch at work a lot because the lunch specials are filling, delicious, and very affordable. The bakery items also deserve a look, because they may be the best value for for on Grand. I've gone here for lunch and just gotten the BBQ buns (which I highly recommend).

Really great spot, loved the mooncake I got and their beef stew lo mein is probably my favorite chinese takeout dish I've ever had. The roast duck and pork are also excellent, you really can't go wrong here. Will have to try the congee some day soon as well.

Seriously incredible American Chinese with some traditional Chinese baked goods as well. Don’t miss out on the chat siu bao. And the best potstickers I’ve ever had.
