Matheson Park

This is a beautiful small partially shaded walking park! Has a few different loops that intertwine to make up different distances and a stretch station too at what I think is the side entrance. A play area, picnic tables (some require reservations), and bathroom. The bathrooms are a bit rough and as a disabled woman with service/support dogs a few benches along the loops on the far side would be nice but that's just my preference it is still an enjoyable park for me and my dogs. There are no dog stations but I carry their bowl, water, and poop bags on me so not an issue for me.

We are here quite often for our weekly park day. The kids love it. The shelters are nice enough for us moms to sit under and chit chat and hold the occasional pot luck picnic.

Awesome small local park. Conveniently nestled in town near Highway 16. Multiple shelters of different sizes and doggie waste stations located at different points of the .5 mile soft surface track.

I loved this place. My son had a blast. But someone did poop on the one set of equipment.

My husband, myself and our dog loves to go there. It is always kept up perfectly. Grass is mowed , no trash laying around. So peaceful

Best place in Alexander county to take your children to play since they've gotten rid of the rock that was dangerous and put in the new rock climbing wall hopefully more upgrades are to come in the future Great for birthday parties get togethers ceremonies it is also a dog park good place to come and bring your dog to walk around and play there's a little stream that's going through the property for them to drink and soak up the water and cool off there is a small playground area and a big kid playground area with even some infant swings come bring your family out today you'll enjoy it

I have went here since I was 13 I'm 25 and have always enjoyed the atmosphere police ride by every 30 mins to a hour so it's very secure and a great place to take you're kids my son enjoys the playhouses and in the summer you will see alot of little fish and salamanders in the little stream that goes through the park

Great place for the kids to play.

They have replaced some of the benches. They removed the big rock. The toddler playset is still fun but weathered. The next playset is heavily weathered and has some boarded up spots. The wooden one is really cool and the kids love it. They also have a walking track, chess table, picnic area, bathrooms and swings. Some of the swings were broken.

I love their walking trail I love the way you can set up for a birthday party for kids it's a very nice place definitely take your kids to thank you Taylorsville North Carolina

Playground was nice it was a nice day it's a good place to take your family and kids to have a picnic at lunch or just spend the nice beautiful day with your kids

Cleanest park in America! Bring a bucket and have at all that free mulch along the western border!

It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

Had a great time. Had some BBQ, Listened to a pastor who was there speak some of his word, and Gods. Made it even more fun for me. Niece had a blast playing and made a couple new friends. Will definitely be a place we go often.

Very nice park with lots of options for different age groups. They have a newer play area to replace the old pirate ship and all inclusive swings. The only "complaint" I have is that the paint on the Merry go round has started to peel badly and it is sticking up so some kids would probably peel it off and it would make a mess. Other than that it is a wonderful park for young and old.

Great recreational spot. Several covered picnic areas, a walking trail, benches and a ton of play equipment for kids of all ages to climb, swing and slide. The park is spacious and everything is spread out, so it doesn't get crowded. There is a "Beware of snakes" sign near the creek.
