Great, but watch your step! It's definitely a hike for those a bit more conditioned to a non-gravel trail. My husband and I enjoyed it immensely.

Amazing spot for MTB, park right at the trailhead and go have a blast for hours os sessioning the trails.

You have to drive a good ways into the park to find this trailhead. Most people don't venture this far so much less busy on a crowded day. You can access several trails here and build as long a hike as you like. The loop itself is about 3 miles of gently rolling mostly flat wooded single track trail with several streams for the dogs to refresh in. Bikes like this route too so stay alert.

The lower portion of this loop is a great 1st trail for mountain biking. This was my son's first loop trail, and he had a blast! I met another rider on her maiden mtb ride at the bottom of the rhododendron tunnel, which is the most extreme part of the lower ride. Neither one had trouble, and absolutely loved the experience! The lower by itself from parking lot and back is right at 2.5 miles. It's a fantastic ride for dialing in new components or for sessioning sections to enhance basic mtb skills. It's also away from the thick crowds that occur since covid. While there, try the more steep upper Explorer section, or go to the top of the ridable section of Sleepy Gap Trail, and bomb back down it!

Explorer loop is one of my favorite rides at bent creek. It's the perfect spot for a short loop, and you can easily make a couple of turns to make it an all day affair.

This is the last trailhead in Bent Creek and usually the least crowded. If you're coming from town, Google may send you the long way around via the parkway entrance but you can get there via the main entrance off of Brevard and it's much quicker.

Nice walking & biking trail. Lots of bikes on the trail. This trail makes a loop. Limited parking area.
