Monte Del Rey

A quaint family owned restaurant offering authentic Mexican food. We eat here at least once if not twice a week. Their cheese dip is the best around, and so are their prices. I’ve only ever had an issue with things being missing when I order take out; but they’ve been nice and fixed them.

So far the best Mexican food I've had here in NC, prices are spot on and good portions, and service was great! Well worth the 15 minute drive, hell I'd drive up to 30 minutes to eat here...the money you save on the food pays for the gas.

I love their atmosphere whether I am dining in or simply ordering for pick up their service is great. The employees are all so nice and take good care of their customers. And their food is 100% delicious. I would firmly recommend for a family outing or a place to stop by with friends

Tried this place after another Google user left a positive recommendation. Ordered veggie fajitas but asked that they cooked it with only peppers, onion, and fresh jalapeños - they had no problem with adjusting my order. Chips and salsa were also good. And the little complimentary dessert was tasty. I'll be going back here anytime I'm in the area and recommended it to anyone I know passing through.

Great food! This is the chicken soup which my daughter loves!! Order a large and you will probably have leftover for lunch the next day!

We love Monte Del Rey! Best Mexican restaurant in the county! Always has great service and good food! Everyone working makes sure to take great care of their customers. Take out orders are great as well. Always hot fresh food and ready in a timely manner. They always have room to accommodate our large family!

Excellent place to dine and get great mexican food. I have been at some places where the tacos are so greasy. These tacos are fresh and the shell doesn't fall apart. You can actually get a to go order and it still be crispy and hot, just like at the restaurant when you get home. Clean restrooms and friendly service. My son goes every week and gets the ATP. A chicken dish that looked delicious. You can put the chicken in tortillas, but my son just mixes it with the rice. I have tried the chicken taco and it is delicious. All I can say is everything I have tried has been great.

Friendly and courteous staff. Quick service and freshly cooked meal. The seasoning was authentic Mexican cuisine. Atmosphere was authentic Mexican tradition art. Highly recommend eating here. They also offer takeout.

This was our second visit. Night and day difference in the service. They kept our drinks filled and showed interest in us. Wow. Great change. Glad we went back

Good food drinks and service

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the region. We live in Salisbury and still drive to Mocksville to eat here, generally once a week. The portions are generous, taste great, and at a good price. The employees are like family. I can't say enough good things about them!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Mocksville as they are more like the excellent food to be found in Hermosillo in the heart of Sonora Mexico. They are not adding salt to sell more beer. The Pollo Tapatio is excellent, my favorite, and in generous portion.

We always get wonderful service and excellent food here. Having lived in the southwest for over 20 years and travelling to Mexico many times, I believe I have rather discerning taste when it comes to Hispanic food. Monte Del Rey is the most authentic I have experienced since moving to North Carolina.

Monte's is AMAZING. My favorite restaurant. I typically go to the Wilkes Monte's but I took a chance and invited the family to the one in mocksville one day and they were too notch as well. Amazingly delicious shredded chicken Nachos!

Love this place bc fast and friendly service. I always get the excellent cheese dip for my chips. Best ACP in town. My boys and I have been going for years and still go once a week!

Delicious fajitas cooked to perfection and inexpensive pitcher of margaritas! Love this place.
