Kurama Sushi & Noodle Express

The sushi here wasn't great, but the good price/value was definitely there. I'd say it's a small step above grocery store sushi while remaining at grocery store sushi price. Also, you really can't beat their price for nigiri anywhere else, and it was pretty good. I'd come back just to fulfill my need for nigiri.

The best roll was the kurama roll. Spicy crunchy roll was okay. I think I enjoyed the Hiro roll. Lava roll was okay.

Also, I came for the sushi conveyor but it wasn't running for some reason. Felt a little bait&switched since I would have picked somewhere else with a running conveyor if I had known. Service walking in was a little weird since they expected us to find our own seat, but there was no sign walking in to tell us that.

Deciding between 4* or 5* was not easy cause it can really go either way. The food is cheap, so I say give it a chance and decide for yourself.

This place was great and fast enough service that we forgot to take food pics. However, can confirm this place is excellent. To make up for my lack of food pics here's a picture of a cat eating sushi which was part of the ambiance in the restaurant. Would absolutely come here again

All the rolls and nigiri were amazing and came out fast. The restaurant was clean and not busy. Will definitely go again!

This was my first time eating sushi.

I ordered the Vegetable Crunchy Roll (8 pc of sushi) and asked to make it real spicy. The sushi itself tasted great, but it wasn't spicy at all, and I don't think that it was because of my spice tolerance.

I also ordered the Vegetable Spring Rolls, which were really yummy. They were warm but not too hot and tasted better than your average Chinese takeout spring roll.

What it lacked, it made up in the price. Very good value for food you get compared to price. A LOT of other sushi places are double some of these prices. The waiter also was very nice and helpful in deciding what to get.

Overall, if you like sushi then you should definitely give this place a try. If you haven't ever had sushi then what are you waiting for? Go try some!

Awesome curry don and curry udon. Curry is Japanese styled like comfort food. Sushi might not be the best but are affordable and consistent. Has a kaiten sushi wheel. Wish there are more varieties of rice bowls. Service is great and all the stuff are extremely nice. Also they have very cute tea pots and tea cups if you want hot water or hot tea.

Definitely the most reasonably-priced and tastiest sushi in the area! You will definitely get more than your money's worth. The staff are efficient and friendly, too.

A great restaurant for those who have a passion for delicious sushi. This place is excellent for going on dates. We went here and our waitress was so friendly and kind.

I have been eating here since 2014. I was homeless the first time I ate here, I only had 5 dollars to my name and got the beef rice bowl. I then ate the same thing everytime I got the money. Now so many years later I go back and enjoy the same meal just to remember where I came from. The food is still just as good. The price has doubled but it still holds a special place in my soul. Hope this spot never closes.

I had a great experience here. I took my youngest son here for a special night out. He really enjoyed watching the food go around on the conveyor belt and watching the chefs prepare the sushi. We both liked everything we tried. My son especially liked the mochi ice cream we had for dessert. The service was excellent and very timely. And, the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be dining here again.

This is a real conveyor belt sushi place where you sit at a bar and sushi revolves around the bar. You take what you want and pay by color of the plates. I love this place because the rolls are 4 pieces each on the conveyor and it's easy to try new things. They also have daily specials and can make you almost anything you could want sushi-wise. Decent rice and noodle bowls too. Really nicely priced and not too expensive.

A great spot in downtown Chapel Hill for sushi. Friendly staff & good food.

One of the best sushi places in NC, would highly recommend swinging by especially for lunch. Prices are more than reasonable and the quality is fantastic, I'd highly recommend.

I just went here for the first time and I can’t wait to go back! Really good and affordable sushi in Chapel Hill. The staff were all super friendly and the atmosphere was very 90s, which was a vibe.

My husband and I have been going here for 13 years. The quality of the sushi is unparalleled in the area, and I have never found a place that rivals Kurama for taste. Particular favorites for us include the lava roll, the kurama roll, the crunchy crab roll, and the gyoza. All of their specialty rolls are excellent and we have never had a bad experience here.

Wonderful, fresh sushi with equally wonderful prices. I work a few minutes down the road from Kurama and I try to go at least once a week. Great price ranges for students, and I really enjoy the quality of the fish and rice. Try the ginger salad while you're there as well!

I eat here a lot since the location is so convenient, and while they get pretty busy sometimes, I've never had a bad experience. Prices are fantastic, food is great, and service is always polite, even if they can't get to you right away. The trick is just to avoid the meal rushes :)

I love this place and can’t wait to come back again! The food was great and I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was. The server I had was very friendly!
