Summerville Medical Center

Had surgery recently, everything from check out to recovery went super smooth. Every member of the staff was so kind, compassionate and explained everything that was going on. I felt very comfortable and taken care of throughout my stay. The get well card a few days after was a very sweet touch. Thank you!

My daughter has visited the ER twice, both times we saw Dr. Hewett. Dr. Hewett deserves the world. She has best bedside manner and truthfully cares for her patients and their families. On the first encounter I had with Dr. Hewett she spent an hour making sure that I had the education I needed to care for my daughter, she thoroughly assessed my daughter to determine the best course of action. She provided comfort to me, as a new mom, the entire time. The most recent encounter with Dr. Hewett was last night. When I saw that she was the pediatric ER doctor, I instantly felt relieved; I knew my daughter was in great hands and would be very well taken care of. Once again, Dr. Hewett provided OUTSTANDING care that I truthfully do not believe I would get anywhere else. She loves her patients, she loves her job and it shows. Dr. Hewett, from my family to yours, THANK YOU! I am so grateful and appreciative for everything you have done!!

I recently had a major surgery and was in-patient for a few days. The entire team was very impressive from beginning to end. It started at the admission desk and ended with the nurse that discharged me. Every interaction was sincere and efficient. I have spent my entire career in the service industry and watching each team do their thing is a shining example of how people should be treated. I would also like to give a special shout out to the nurses. Let's face it, the nurses are where the rubber meets the road and they excelled. They were all great but I would like to single out Teri H. She rocks!

I gave birth to my first baby here in September. I was only there for 24 hrs, but I had a great experience in labor and delivery and recovery. The nurses were amazing and were there for anything I needed! Doctor Kolbi delivered my baby and she was also great. I don’t have anything negative to say about the hospital besides that our newborn screening took 9 weeks to get to our pediatrician, who immediately discovered a small possible issue. For a baby with a more serious problem, that wouldn’t be good, so I’d say the lab needs to be more organized as far as that goes. All in all, I’d give birth here again!

Our daughter was born 34 weeks, 4.11lbs and the entire staff from labor delivery to post partum and now the NicU are absolutely amazing!! Professional, very knowledgeable and my wife was high risk at 42 they did an amazing job keeping her safe and now taking care of our little girl. Great hospital!

I missed my appointment they originally scheduled because I put the wrong date on my calendar (my fault) But, when I called and spoke with the MRI scheduler, DAWN W, she went out of her way to call who was working the MRI machine and got me in the same day! She listened to the story of my mistake, instead of brushing me off, and deserves a shoutout for going the extra mile! Then, I get to Summerville Medical, the registration went super smooth and within ten minutes, Alex (MRI tech) came and got me. His partner, Stacy (MRI tech), explained everything to me that was going to happen in the machine and we got started. She even fit in BOTH of my MRIs in today instead of me having to travel back a second time. They treated me like family and I am very thankful for these three. I hope Summerville Medical management sees this 5 star review because all 3 are stellar employees. Thank you Dawn, Alex, and Stacy.

Dr. Hewitt, Ped. MD in the Summerville Medical Center ER is one of the best physicians that I have met. She has on 2 different occasions treated my little granddaughter. She is compassionate, Thorough, gives great detail and explains everything very well. Both times our family has left feeling comforted about the treatment we received from her.

I took my 15 months to the ER today , for breathing problem due to RSV , want to say thank you to all the people working at this hospital, from the checking til the last nurse I saw , no waiting at all , they call us less than 1 min seriously, used to go to MUSC downtown Charleston, but recently moved to Summerville, it a big difference if I start comparing. Doctors are wonderful and nurses too .

The most pleasant visit I have EVER had in a medical facility. The CT Tech did her job to the highest standards and I treated with respect and kindness. The admission team took very good care of me. AS I watched them work I noticed how attentive and kind they were to all the patients. You have a GREAT team working at your medical center. Thank you for your care!!

I cant even explain how amazing the OR and staff are. Everyone was so beyond sweet. Caring and prompt. All surgeries will be done here ❤

We had an amazing experience delivering our baby.. labor department docs and nurses are awesome especially Sarah Demilio is amazing nurse, she talks so nicely along with very nice explanation and alwys happy

The service I received was wonderful. The receptionists were awesome. I have never seen a group of ladies as complimentary of each other as these three ladies were. Their attention to detail, congeniality towards each other, customer/patient attention, professionalism, attitude, gratitude, kindness, tone of voice, smiles as they greeted people, even their body language was all phenomenal. The way that they made sure that each patient was not forgotten or being ignored was very refreshing to me. Answering patient questions with an assuring tone of voice depicting accuracy. The nurse who did my test was as efficient and nice.

I have to say this was the best hospital I have been at. Walking in your are greeted and feels welcome. They were on time. All the nurses and Dr I came into contact with where great. They listened, friendly and honest. My surgery went well and was released the next day. The floor staff was great as well. Thank you for a great experience.

I had an amazing experience delivering my first baby at Summerville Medical Center. My husband and I have no complaints. The hospital seemed very organized and everyone who took care of us was kind and attentive, especially our labor and delivery nurse, Sheryl. Her knowledge, encouragement, and empathy helped me get through labor, as I was very nervous. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been her last delivery before retiring. If I delivered any later, we would have missed her! I hope to deliver any of my own future children here and definitely recommend this hospital to others looking for a great place to give birth.

I would like to thank YaKenya B at the check in desk, for starting the good experience that I received at Summerville medical and all of the doctors, nurses and staff that made a not so pleasant visit, more pleasant.

This was my second year receiving my mammogram at this facility. The staff and nurses are amazing. They were able to schedule my mother 's appointment for the same day and only minutes apart.The staff are very friendly and we were promptly seen. My nurse was very funny and made me feel so at ease with the exam. Complete Experts I would definitely recommend this facility .

The labor and delivery team was absolutely phenomenal. The team showed that they truly cared about us, they communicated well, they genuinely listened to us, and did not pressure us in any way at all. As a first time Mom, they eased all of my fears and stresses and were extremely supportive. If you are in the Lowcountry, I absolutely recommend giving birth at Summerville Med.

Had surgery and was greatly impressed with the whole procedure from check in to discharge.The operating room staff was great explaining everything before they did it.Can't say enough about Dr.Sara Ewing I think she loves what she does and it shows.

The entire team at the Summerville Breast care center was great. Check in was easy. Everything about the process was explained each step of the way. Compassionate care was received. Thank you to the physician, nurse, and techs that were a part of my care. Highly recommend!
