Caroline’s Bed & Breakfast

Well, our stay could not have been better. Our hosts Carol and Jerry - both fantastic people, warm and accommodating. Breakfast - simply exceptional. The inn - inviting and every detail attended to. The location - perfect for staying close enough to Charleston, yet far enough to enjoy the slower pace in the evening. Would we return? - Absolutely!

My husband and I stayed at Caroline’s B&B for three nights. It was an amazing experience. She is a wonderful host along with her husband. They made our stay unforgettable. I would recommend anyone staying in the Somerville area to stay there. She definitely goes above and beyond in all aspects! Whenever we’re in the Somerville area, we will be staying with her for sure. Her breakfasts are remarkable.

This is a true bed-and-breakfast. Their breakfast is phenomenal. Their B&B is spotless. The innkeepers couldn’t be more engaged in with their guests. this is my second visit and there will be a third shortly. I would stay nowhere else the accommodations are five star plus.

First, Carol was super accommodating and welcoming. When we got there, we found a sweet card welcoming us.
The room was one of the most comfortable ones we have ever stayed in - I LOVED the little writing nook. My husband said it felt more like home to him than anywhere else we have been.
Breakfasts were wonderful each day.
There was a small room near ours with books, games, snacks and drinks, plus there was ALWAYS coffee (and tea bags, if you prefer) which is a definite win.
She also gave us some great advice about where to visit in the area and also how to find decent parking in downtown Charleston.
It's a beautiful and clean place, the location is great (not far off I26) and while we came to visit Charleston, Summerville also has a cute downtown area just a minute or two away from the B&B.

I definitely recommend this place, if we ever end up back in the area we will be planning to return ourselves.

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. I must say we will never go to a hotel again. The room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast delicious. Caroline is very friendly and so are her cute Yorkie. If your ever so lucky to stay here you must. We will be back.

I booked rooms here for family visiting from California, and they LOVED it! The rooms are incredibly clean & meticulously decorated & equipped with convenience items like a fridge, Keurig, etc. There is a small room (with books, games, a microwave & snacks) located in between the two second floor bedrooms. The hosts, Caroline & Jerry, are so gracious and hospitable. My family said the breakfasts were indeed amazing, as many other reviewers had mentioned!

Not sure what hotel rates are in Summerville, but I think this place is priced very competitively, especially since a fabulous breakfast is included everyday. One last tip: contact Caroline's directly to make reservations as it's a little cheaper than going through booking sites. Enjoy!

Where do I started? Check in/out was a breeze. Breakfast was just great, a new version every day. Very quiet, walking distance to restaurants and a park. Hostess is outstanding. We will be back and I will request the same room again with the patio and the fragrant smell of Confederate Star Jasmin bush. Miss it so much, met 2 wonderful couples.

Where do I begin? I decided to take my wife to the Charleston area for her birthday. I booked with Caroline about 2 months in advance. I decided to book the Presidential Suite. We arrived for our 3 night stay a little late because the line at car rental at the airport didn’t allow us to get there between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. No problem. Caroline made herself available once we arrived and escorted us to the suite. Check in was flawless and the suite is so tastefully decorated. The grounds are impeccable and tranquil. Caroline asks how you like your breakfast and let me tell you. The breakfasts are absolutely scrumptious. You feel like royalty when you sit in the dining room. If you are lucky, you may just meet Sophie and Chloe her 2 Yorkies who are welcomed breakfast crashers. They were one of the highlights of the stay. We wanted to see them every day. We can’t forget to include Caroline’s husband Jerry. A fantastic personality and a great storyteller. He kind of maneuvers behind the scenes but we had the chance to get to know him and truly enjoyed his company. There simply aren’t enough adjectives I can use to describe how incredible our stay was. I wish I could give 10 stars. It’s honestly that great of a place. Looking forward to staying in touch with our new friends and of course returning to the best B&B with the nicest, most professional owners around.

Each morning, we were served a delicious, hot gourmet breakfast and greeted with warm conversation by Caroline and her husband Jerry. All of the little details were a wonderful touch. We will definitely return for another stay!!!

Beyond the gracious hospitality of the host, Carol Feldhaus, and the charm and beauty of the B&B and its unique rooms, they have gone above and beyond during the pandemic to make guests safe and comfortable. To top it off, you get one of the best breakfasts going to start your day...! This is our "go to" place to stay in the Charleston area - you will NEVER be disappointed!

My wife and I have been to dozens of bed and breakfasts. this is the closest to Perfection we have ever found. We even wanted to go to the beach and forgot our towels and she supplied them. Everything was immaculately decorated, immaculately clean. Great breakfast each day we were there. Caroline is a wonderful host. If we are ever in this area again will definitely book a room!

Carol & Jerry were great!! The pres suite was very nice! We enjoyed Carol & Jerry's company every morning as Carol would whip up a delicious breakfast. The structure itself is well maintained, gorgeous Carolina style inside & out, with loving touches, & decorations all about to fit the season. Very easy to access downtown Summerville or Charleston from the location.
We would highly recommend this to anyone!!!

This is a beautiful retreat in the heart of Historic Summerville with incredible hospitality by the owners Jerry and Caroline. It’s obvious that they put their heart into their work. This was not our first trip to Summerville but we simply stumbled upon this gem and we are so glad we did! Caroline has amazing talent and had the home decorated and so festive for the Fall and Halloween season. (my husband couldn’t stay out of the candy bowl, lol.)
Our room was the The Garden Room, which had such a big comfortable king bed making for a wonderful night sleep after a long day of work and travel. And the breakfast the next day??!! Oh my…. We didn’t eat again to 4:00.
The B&B is within walking distance to the quaint and cozy town of Historic Summerville where we spent our Saturday morning at the Farmers market and walking the area. The town has a handful of great little mom and pop restaurants, good pizza, a coffee shop, and a few great little bars to pop in and grab a drink or two.
After your return back to the B&B, the front porch provides a great opportunity to kick back and relax. The back yard also has a fabulous patio with a fire pit and is beautifully landscaped.
There is really little about this place we didn’t love and with my daughter in school close by, we will def plan to visit again. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of their two little Yorkie’s. We were smitten!!!

This is the best Bed & Breakfast that you could imagine. It is very clean and neat, and there is nothing missing. The interior design of their home and outside landscaping is absolutely beautiful and really something to see. The breakfasts were picture perfect and delicious. We felt very welcome with their great hospitality from the moment we arrived until we left. We definitely made the right decision to stay there.

Caroline’s Bed and Breakfast was great! My girlfriend and I have stayed there many times. It felt like a home away from home for us. The owners are really nice and the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. Not to mention the breakfast is to die for!!

Summerville Secret treasure. Caroline's was amazing and a welcome respite from Charleston slag. The library is so inviting and breakfast was a true delight.

Me and my wife stayed three nights in Caroline's garden room and it was just perfect. Large king sized bed, excellent cooked breakfast including fruits and eggs etc everyday and just the best southern hospitality from Caroline and her husband. Everything was fresh, clean and Caroline went over and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. Walking distance to downtown Summersville and a short drive to central Charleston. Looking forward to our next visit!

We loved our stay at Caroline’s Bed and Breakfast! The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was so good. Caroline made us feel like family! We look forward to going back soon!

Went there this past weekend 9/25-9/27. My wife and I anniversary. First time staying in an bed and breakfast. Let me tell you this was an beautiful place. Caroline greeted us at the door when we arrived to check-in. She took us up to our suite. Went over the few rules. Our suite had a keurig coffee maker, little fridge with coffee pods, creamer, sugar and water bottles. Room and bathroom was very clean. Quite street. Each suite had its own bathroom. Woke up next morning first day to a beautiful breakfast. The dining room was beautiful too. The breakfast we had that first day was a omelet with pepper jack cheese and bacon side of avacado. She served parfait before the breakfast entree. Next morning we were served a big slice of pineapple and cantalope first and then a scrambled eggs sage and an awesome Blueberry pancake. We had coffee, orange juice and water served each morning too. The suites upstairs there is an library in between with an ice maker, microwave, snacks and an huge collection of books to borrow from. Mrs. Caroline made us very welcome there and we had great conversations each morning during breakfast. If we come back into town we will definitely book there again! The area in which this location is is great. Not far to walk to small downtown area. That Saturday morning my wife and I actually walked from the bed and breakfast to a farmers market that was 0.7 mile from there. If you are concerned about cleaningness of this bed and breakfast. Due to Covid-19 changes we had to bag up our bathroom towels and rugs in one bag and then our bedding things in another bag in which she cleans for next guest. She also sanitizes the rooms between each visits with sanitizers and ionizers. There are stations throughout the property with wipes and hand sanitizer. But all in all this place is awesome and the owner does an excellent job. Thank you Mrs. Caroline.
