Dorchester County Water & Sewer

I was seeing a persistent $50 penalty for late payment even though my bank was showing the full amount clearing prior to the due date. Based on other reviews posted here, I was expecting a pretty terrible experience dealing with Dorchester County Water & Sewer.

I called the number on the billing statement and fully expected to be on extended hold and to eventually be connected with a disgruntled employee who would be hell-bent on ending the call without solving my issue. I was mistaken.

I was on hold for maybe a minute before being connected with Ms. Lisa Rock. She was perfectly pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. Ms. Rock reviewed several billing cycles with me to help sort out the issue. If only the commercial entities I dealt with on a regular basis were as competent, "what a wonderful world it would be".
Dorchester Water & Sewer: whatever you're paying Ms. Rock... double it.

I had to make some changes to my current account due to my personal information being compromised. I called Dorchester County Water & Sewer and spoke to Olivia letting her know about the situation that I was in. She went over and beyond the necessary help that I needed in getting this situation resolved. I just wanted to say Thank You So Very Much to Olivia for a pleasant experience in getting this situation resolved.

Read the reviews on here and was anticipating a pretty painful call when inquiring about turning on sewer service but my experience was quite the opposite. Nicole was able to assist with what all I would need and the best way to get my service turned on. As simple as a call as it was, the service was much appreciated.

Thanks for your astonishingly quick response to our request for service at SummerVillage mph after the last bad rain we had. Also thanks for the great work you guys are doing at pump station 102 in our neighborhood.

Their techs are much faster and more personable than I'm used to, no weeks long wait for leak response.

I had an issue with my sweet water banking into my home, gave them a call, and a technician was at my home within 20 minutes. I called right at the start of the day. The purpose of my call was to find out where the clog was before I called a plumber. They helped me determine the clog was somewhere in the home

Issue was resolved promptly by Miss May in regards to late payment but still do not care for customer service department little empathy.

Why is sewer so expensive? $61.25 flat fee? Absolutely outrageous.

Absolute joke of a 'service' company'. They lie about what fees can be waived if you had their service before and ignore their ordinance rules.

They also stated I could have re-connected without fees but since I had two tenants since my active account that rule doesn't apply. Yet one was a tenant, and the other was my property management company, if they describe a Property Management Company as a different account type (in their ordinance below), you'd think I would be granted a fee waiver. Also... Awkwardly enough this fee waiver comment isn't in their ordinance either.

"The origination fee may be waived by the Department if the applicant meets one of the criteria below:

1. The applicant is transferring from an active service address to another service address and ending the service at the previous address;

2. The applicant provides proof that he or she has resided at the address, the account is in good standing, and has contributed to the payment of the water and/or sewer bill; or

3. The applicant is a property management group in good standing with the Department whom has paid an origination fee previously."

They are taking advantage of people by charging way to much per month. They are as bad as a cable company if not worse. People are nice. But if you can avoid them. Stay away! Use to be $40.00 flat rate. BUT if you were 1 day late. It was $50.00 on top of the $50.00. Now I think the flat rate is upwards towards $64.00.

They now charge a fee to pay by credit card and are unable to do autopay with a bank account. This used to work on a credit card with no fee. I now have to login and pay every month with my bank or pay about $3 a month to do auto pay. Pretty annoying.

There are no government departments with a very bad service attitude. If you don't want to work, you can resign and go home. No one will force you to come out to work. A bad face will ruin you. Rotten
