Farmers Family Restaurant

Stopped in two nights back to back while visiting family in the hospital. The food was FRESH and full of flavor, the service was top tier and the atmosphere is so country and cozy! We hope this place stays around forever!

I cried. A grown 43yo man cried, (twice). Go ahead and laugh, I'm not ashamed.
Backstory ~My mother made several dishes when I was young that were always good. But like any kid, I didn't appreciate the love and work that went into the meals she made. I moved a thousand miles away around 20 years ago, and my mom passed away when my 6yo was just a baby.
In Murfreesboro today from Carthage, TN, my wife and I saw great reviews and decided to try this buffet. I normally don't even review buffets because I expect them to never have quality worth mentioning. After all, how could anyone possibly keep food tasting amazing and homemade for more than [ten minutes] on display, exposed to the air with heat plates underneath.
I started by walking by the buffet to see everything that was available, keeping in mind that looks can be deceiving. I picked three of the main dishes to assess the range of cooking ability in the back before I settle on going for desserts, (it doesn't take much to satisfy me if I can indulge my sweet tooth).
The baked fish looked appealing (though I usually avoid fish expecting it to be dry, tough, and bland). I grabbed BBQ ribs. And I grabbed chicken fried steak and gravy.
I ate everything on my plate, sharing a bite of each thing with my wife boasting about the flavor, tenderness, and perfection in every moment. I couldn't believe it. I could easily write two more reviews on just how delicious the fish was.
My wife finished her salad and brought back goulash on her plate. Wide-eyed, she insisted that I try a bite. Looking at it I was thinking, "So what? It's noodles, sauce, and cheese. We eat that all the time." I took it in, and time stopped... it instantly felt like my mom put her arms around me and told me again that she loves me. Again, hours later, I'm crying as I write this. I am living in the moment when the food critic takes a bite of Ratatouille and his view of what's possible immediately changes forever. I loaded up my plate with more goulash and filled up. Then my wife, having made it to the dessert buffet, says, "ooh you have to try the bread pudding!" She had already seen me crying over food and was curious if the goulash was just a fluke.
I took a bite of the bread pudding... and... "not again". My shoulders shook and my face scrunched up as I tried not to let it out 😭. "Did your mom make bread pudding too?" She asked. Yes. In fact, this also tasted, smelled, and felt as if my mom herself had made it. It has been decades since I last had my mom's cooking. But today, I felt as close to her as the moment I said goodbye.
I've been numb to my emotions for years, unable to connect with how I feel about nearly anything. But Farmers Family Restaurant's selfless act of putting love into the act of preparing a buffet of delicious home style food for complete strangers/travelers has me shook. I can't wait to return.

Very cool place. Nicely laid out. More than enough choices. Lot of seafood dishes. If you want to add crab legs it's 20 extra but that's 5 or 6 lbs. which is reasonable !

I am the men’s group leader at The Fire Church in Murfreesboro. We had our monthly breakfast at Farmers. It was my first time eating here. The food, service and atmosphere were great. We felt welcome. Will definitely have more meetings at Farmers. Blessings!

We loved it! Affordable $46 for four. Lots of options, and they kept it very clean. Everything we tried was great. Waitress was kind. One downfall is the bathroom needs to be redone otherwise great!

Ate here for the first time yesterday. My new favorite restaurant. I had perfectly cooked fried chicken. Crispy and full of flavor. The cooked cabbage was like I make it. Mashed potatoes, gravy, cornbread dressing, catfish etc was all delicious. The dumplings were really good. Too often you get dumplings that are too thick, and it feels like you're eating wet dough. Not here. Just right. The broth could stand on its own. The desserts were soo good. Warm cherry cobbler will melt in your mouth. The restaurant was spotless, and the staff was so welcoming and attentive. It is buffet style, but you can make a to-go plate. Ask for the senior discount.

The food is good. I like the breakfast better than the lunch but either is good. Lunch was a little pricey for only having two types of fish and meat loaf for the meat selection.

As I walked in with my family member, I heard an employee come over the intercom and start a prayer of blessing over the food. God is definitely in this restaurant. I felt a beautiful and peaceful spirit in there. It's so rare to find in today's world.

Wow!! What a great buffet!! Lots of choices and hot food brought out constantly. My 2 favorites were the fried green tomatoes and the awesome jalapeño fried cornbread! Cobbler was mighty tasty too.

Me and family came to eat here for the first time. We were impressed with the cleanliness, friendly staff and overall atmosphere. Our server Erica went above and beyond to ensure a great dinning experience. Erica is a great asset to this establishment. Erica deserves to be recognized for the way she treats all of her customers

Farmer's Market staff are so nice. Embody southern hospitality.
I switched up to an omelet and was blown away. The meal overwhelmed the plate and was fantastic. Farmer's is my favorite breakfast weekly indulgence.
Makes me wonder about weekends Farmer's can put on and serve a meal. So good and so nice with food made like in moms kitchen 🤤.

Best Crab Legs !!!! Wouldn't waste my money on Red Lobster ever again. Any day of week I can 1 to 3lbs of the most flavorful perfect break crab. Plus the bar... Always a favorite for me and mine. Worth the drive from Coffee County. Which I try to do at least once a week with my elder uncle....

OMG! First time I walked in I could not believe how much of good country/home cooking is in this all you can eat buffet!
Realistically on one visit one cannot try all that one would want to, there is simply so much of everything that tell one’s eyes try me.
Definitely place to comeback and comeback and comeback again and again.
Seriously lucky for those that live in Murfreesboro to have such place in town. Too bad for those that live in Nashville as it is about 30 minutes drive time from mid town but worth it! Maybe good reason to head south east for Sunday lunch? For all of you passing by on Interstate 24 traveling south or north thru Tennessee and getting hungry on the road- stop by if you miss mama’s home cooking. 5 stars is a must!!

Best place to get a real, home-cooked meal. AND they are FARMtoTABLE!! We go every Sunday!! Their homemade turnip greens?? Taste like grandma's!! Not to mention the price of everything...such a good deal for the best tasting food around Nashville!!

Food has been exceptional the last two times I've visited. Once for Breakfast and once for lunch. Fresh, clean, happy staff, great selections, and great service. Will definitely recommend!

This is where the great food lives! We tried alittle bit of everything..and except for the dressing everything was perfect! The baked & fried fish was awesome. The veggies that I tried ( baby carrots, breaded okra,squash,brussell sprouts,sweet potatos) was like grandma use to fix!!! They had peach,apple,strawberry and cherry cobblers and with alittle ice cream was heavenly. The salad bar looked great too! This place has options for everyone! We arrived around 2p-ish and even with the amount of people inside the bar still had fresh food as when something was running low out came a new pan. Definitely coming back! The place is well maintained and tables get cleaned really fast. Very overall clean establishment.

Good food, family atmosphere. It is the second time, being there. Check it out, we did! 😁
