so I'm gonna be an 8th grader this year and I have to say sellers isn't bad at all its not a bad school its the people in it that makes it bad but other than that sellers is the best school I've ever went too , y'all can't just judge sellers by the comments you have to actually go to the school and then you'll know it all . the teachers there are amazing they might be strict but that's because they wanna help you have a better future . Just don't get into any drama and you should be good , of course people are gonna judge you but that shouldn't bother anyone , in life everyone's gonna judge you no matter how pretty you are , how skinny , how ugly , how fat , how handsome , how rich , how broke , but that shouldn't matter because your you for a reason . You are your own person don't let anyone bring you down . now I hope everyone understands that sellers is a wonderful school and should go to it . thank you .

Hi I am a student at Sellers Middle School and it is fine. There might be fights a lot but there is nothing serious. MIDDLE SCHOOLS ARE MIDDLE SCHOOLS, you cant change that fact. I am in all honors and Honors is MUCH better then the regulars. The kids that are bullied are usually small, smart, and don't know about the outside world other than books and tv shows. I encourage you guys to go there because we have an AVID program AND Magnet. You guys act like this is a GANG school. I like sellers as long as you don't mess with the popular kids. AND if YOUR kids are being bullied then teach them to grow up and except the fact that not everything in this world is ALL GOOD and NOTHING IS WRONG IN LIFE because some people just don't know about the OUTSIDE WORLD with bullies and INNAPROPRIATE PICTURES. THEY JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT. I encourage you guys to go here. Good luck and have a nice day! :)

Please don't send your children here. I went in 2012 and can contribute my current mentel illnesses to my experiences here. I was threatened on two separate occasions by 2 different boys. The first threatened to rape me out loud in the middle of art class. The male vice principal dismissed it as "boys being boys". My mother presested and he had him repeat it to his father. No further action was taken. During the second incident a boy threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot me. The male vice principal again tried to dismiss it untill my mother brought the female vice principal in. She then had him attempt to explain his actions, requested he seek help, and transferred him to another middle school. Before he left, he told his friends only that it was my fault that he was leaving, and since I was asked to not tell anyone else about this incident, I could not defend myself against them and was harassed until I moved.

Unfortunately that was not the end of my incounters there. My social studies teacher insisted that there where no cows in Egypt, regardless of the fact that they worshipped them and used them for labor. Another time a teacher had died and our first period teacher was to inform us, mine was absent due to illnesses and I had no clue what was going on. When I go to science class we where going to watch a nature documentary. I was rather squimish so when our teacher informed us we could go to the library "if you need to". I was unaware that it was meant for students of the dead teacher. I was confused when a multitude of adults went up to me, but when I explained why I was there. I was confused when my science teacher suddenly burst in, grabbed me roughly by the arm, and threatened to expel me. I wasn't giving an explanation until a student confrontee after class demanding a reason for why I would use the teacher death to skip class. From what I later learned he had paused the movie after a student had informed h that I had no classes with the dead teacher, informed my classmates on why he was leaving, and gave me no chance to explain. My classmates then dispersed the presumed knowledge, and harassed me about that as well giving me no chance to explain, or if they did, not believing me.
They also harassed me about crying about the end of "The Boy in Striped Pajamas" movie ending.

The only reason I'm giving it a two instead of a one is the female vice principal and my English teacher who defeated me to the best of their ability .

If there really was choice of school my children would have never gone here. It was bad in the 90's when i went there and its even worse now. Completely incompetent staff. Except for the few teachers who get drowned out by the by the bad eggs that have no business teaching. It's the districts fault as much as the schools. I have to drive to 2 different middle schools, because the district didn't have my children linked together in their system... 1 at Hudson(great school by the way...no problems) and 2 here at Sellers... Multiple problems every year. If I could manage home schooling 4 children I would pull my kids in a heart beat.

I went to this school in 2010-2011. It was my first year in the United States, so I was not familiar with the environment.
My teacher in 4th period did not allow me to go to the bathroom, so I went to the bathroom on myself two times.
I was also not aware of the fact that I was supposed to wear the uniform polo under the sweatshirt.
I was glad I only took one year in this school because I was traumatized for life. Now I have to deal with cringe memories for the rest of my life (ok I might be overreacting a little bit)
Overall, I had good moments and bad moments and I glad I survived.

If I could score this school a zero I would. I have 2 adult children that went there and it was a nightmare the entire time. The school curriculum does not prepare them for high school, and the band instructors lack enthusiasm and discipline. My son took private trumpet lessons in the 6th & 7th grade in Richardson and was taught to play by the Berkner high school band teacher...when he started going to Sellers, they played the same songs that he had played in Richardson in the 8th grade.

I now have a niece in the 7th grade that goes there. The only reason she goes there is because it is close to our home. It is a still a disaster. Kids smoke pot in the bathrooms, they are allowed to leave campus with no disciplinary actions, the kids are not disciplined for inappropriate behavior until it becomes so intolerable that the teachers get frustrated and want to choke them unconscious.

My opinion......we need to bring back corporal punishment. Kids need to be allowed to FAIL. GISD does not fail kids...even if they never turn in a paper...they still receive a 50, and are allowed to do petty work to make up for real grades. These kids are growing up to think that they can do anything that they want and get away with it. They are going to be worthless criminals in our world one day....

By reading all their own student reviews, I honestly hope this is the worst school in Garland.
None of them have a clue how to spell.
We will stay far, far away! :/

There is to much bullying we reported this issue multiple times but the staff did nothing... as well as this student came home crying because they said she was on drugs but all it was is that in physical health she had just had a hard time breathing......they were screaming at her for 2 hours......BAD STAFF MEMBERS
