It's hard to find an honest mechanic, with integrity, high quality of work, and at a great price. But John Stallings is that diamond in the rough! My whole family takes our cars to John, and I recommend him to all my friends. If you need don't know anything about cars (or you do) and need a mechanic that fits the above criteria, congratulations, you just found him. Please don't retiring any time soon, John. There needs to be more mechanics like you.

Helped me remove some stripped lug nuts on a blown out tire when I was in a jam. Super helpful, and gave great advice on how to go about buying the right tires and lug nuts in the future. Would have had to pay for a tow truck and more, but Stillman saved me from a worse situation. Thanks so much!

If you’re looking for an honest auto mechanic who is ALSO an expert…look no further. I even had my car towed from Johnson City to Stallings and still saved hundreds based on what nearby mechanics were telling me was wrong. John has been our mechanic for years. Even told us when to give up the ship and get a new one. Stallings is definitely the place to go.

John is very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He was honest about expected time to complete repairs and cost before bringing in the vehicle. I just moved to the area and am grateful to have found a quality mechanic on my first go.

One of the first things I do when moving to a new area is try to find my "car guy" and John is definitely my car guy. Conveniently located off I-10 near Fair Oaks, Stallings automotive is what car service used to be-- an honest man with good people, doing good work. It feels like you are going to your friend or neighbor for help, and I have never felt the "oh, better just replace the whole thing" vibe you get at a lot of corporate shops. I recommend him to all my friends without hesitation.

John is a very straight forward and honest mechanic. I feel he does excellent work. Hes worked on my wife's truck and my 3 trucks, 2 of them are my business trucks. John was responsive, communicative, honest, and respectful. I went to him for a second opinion on some expensive repairs that were recommended by a different mechanic. He was honest about the condition of the vehicle and didn't pressure me to do any unnecessary repairs. The $932 repair recommended by the other mechanic turned out to be totally unnecessary. I've had my Jeep for over 10 years and Stallings is the only place I'll take it to get work done. Besides being a great mechanic, John is honest and his prices are very fair. He takes care of my Jeep as if it was his own. Cannot say enough good things about his service. Highly recommend!

My car needed a tune-up and was nervous about how I could potentially get taken advantage of by a dishonest mechanic. I also initially explained to John that I’m a poor college student that simply didnt have the money to drop ~$800 all at once on repairs. John fixed the most pressing issues and then gave me a list of the other more pricey repairs that needed to be done so I could budget to get those done in the future. Very nice and honest people that have definitely made a life-long customer from me!

This shop is absolutely the best I've ever been to here in San Antonio and I definitely intend on coming back for any future work. Basically I had a strange creaking noise coming from one of my tires and I wasn't sure what it was, so I looked online for a good repair shop and saw the good reviews for this store. Though I was a little hesitant I decided to bring my car in the following morning and found they run a pretty small operation that's a little hard to find (it's in the corner behind the Goodwill off I-10), but boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. Within a few hours they not only determined the precise issue in my car, but they fixed it on the spot for no extra charge. It was a simple issue, too, they only had to tighten a bolt on a control arm.

As you can imagine lots of shops around town try to upsell a bunch of pointless services you don't need or repair problems that don't exist just to make fast money (believe me I've seen my share of it, there are some real crooks out there). But the folks at Stallings Automotive were honest, simple and straightforward, they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and they didn't make up problems that didn't need fixing. They simply fixed my car. They clearly know their stuff and take pride in doing good, honest works, and I really admire and respect that. When I received the bill I was even more surprised at how reasonable the price was, only $40 for the diagnostic and labor, I'm guessing because it was such a straightforward fix, but still that beats anywhere I've ever been to any day of the week.

I don't usually write reviews but my experience with these folks was so exceptional that I just had to put in a good word for them. I highly recommend Stallings Automotive.

John and his team at stallings are the most honest hard working mechanics I’ve known. John is super knowledgeable and his prices are insanely fair. I wont be going back to anyone of those franchised “automotive repair shop “. John is a true master mechanic and he will get you back on the road safe in no time . Seriously John is the only Honest mechanic around. I came in with an issue with my car he let me know the details and didn't charge me a Penny. He took his time to inspect the car, tire and rim and gave me all his suggestions and was super Nice. The only place I'd be ever going to with my car is Stallings automotive.

I would definitely recommend using Stalling Automotive. I had a lot of work done on my van and when I got it back I noticed a new wobble that had not been there before and only showed up while accelerating quickly between 50-60 mph. I called John back in the shop and they picked up my car from my house and fixed the faulty part that had been installed initially and drove it back to my house, which was about a 30 min drive each way at no extra cost. Price was fair and customer service was excellent! The quality of work other than that hiccup was excellent.
