Yum Thai Restaurant III - Helotes

I've eaten here 7-10 times, every time I've loved my food. The menu is easy to read, has photo's for almost every dish, and has good descriptions. It is not busy, usually, which I can't understand because the food is awesome and at very reasonable price. I am not locked into any one or two dishes. Each time I go, I usually have something new! How many places can you go and the place has 5-6 things you like? I get mine at spice level 3, I could probably go with a 4 also. As I like spicy, but not crazy spicy.

Try it! This place is worth it.
The decor is basic. So, the look won't wow you, good thing the food will.

It takes a bit to get the food, so not a place to rush in and out of.

Wonderful service, perfect food. Absolutely wonderful atmosphere. I eat here whenever I can. I ordered their red snapper it was the Most beautiful display I have ever seen. The taste was out of this world. Worth every penny.

Great, nice, quiet little place to eat great food. I ordered the fried spring rolls and that pad Thai with chicken. The rolls were crispy and the pad Thai was flavorful. We love this place!

Delicious food, decent pricing. Excellent customer service! My server went above and beyond for me and my dog sitting on the patio outside. I would definitely recommend this place and we'll be back.

Best Thai I've had, great menu and amazing flavor. I had Hor Mok Seafood curry. Freaking amazing. Had bubble tea, thai tea flavor. Amazing service and good pricing.

I had Red curry soup with Chicken. Absolutely delicious! Perfect if your into Sweet & Spicy. Thai tea is too sweet for me but nonetheless very yummy. I enjoyed my first meal here. Staff was courteous, attentive and fast. Didn't wait long for food at all. Love the soothing music that's played while dining. Not expensive just right.

I am changing this review to BUYER BE AWARE. They are never open! Once I ordered and came to pick up my order and they were closed. Charged my credit card and even had to dispute the charges. I’m sorry this place has suffered from the corona virus. I LOVE Thai food and this place is amazing. Nate let us order and sit outside and eat our food on their patio. Incredible customer service! We ordered Pad Thai and two Drunken Noodles along with two appetizers and the food was delicious. We will continue to come back to these guys. Thank you!

Love this place! My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a month. Usually choosing the perfectly flavorful green curry or chicken pad thai, but the lunch special never disappoints no matter what I choose. The service is always friendly and quick too! Highly recommend!

Great staff, Great chef! Food is always FRESH and lunch specials are Monday- Friday until 3 pm! See a lot of reviews complaining about the price but the servings are the size of 2 plates anywhere else..... it’s called bang for your buck people.

Good food! I had the cashew chicken and it was delicious. I generally don't eat the rice, but even their rice was good. My husband had drunken noodles and he really enjoyed it too. The service was good and attentive. We will come back for sure.

Definitely some of the most amazing Pad Thai I've ever had. everything was so delicious and prepared perfectly. On top of that, Andrea is one of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant. The Thai coffee is phenomenal as well. I definitely reccomend this place if you're looking for some amazing Thai food in San Antonio, TX. Also got to meet the owner and he was very nice, he personally cooks the food at this location, so it's done right. It was so good I forgot to even take pictures, which is ok because I plan on making this my go to spot. I'll be getting food pictures the next time I visit.

My 1st trip, but went because my daughter had eaten there previously. She wanted Boba tea.

Conditions of Visit: We have had snow on the ground (did I wake up in Siberia instead of South Texas??) for FOUR solid days, so it was a GREAT break to get out to eat somewhere. There were only 2 people working at the restaurant- the chef and the cashier/waiter/food packager. And, they were out of Tapioca pearls for the Boba tea.

We got there and a visible sign said it was just the 2 of them working and asked for patience.

It took the cashier a few minutes to step out of the kitchen, but he was calm and very matter-of-fact in demeanor. He answered all our questions, took his time, and was very patient. He did say that it would likely be about a half-hour before the food would be ready. I asked if we could wait inside where it was a little warmer and he said it would be fine. Ultimately, we stepped.out to the patio to enjoy the 44° heatwave.

It did take right at a half hour for our order to be ready. We took ours and ate on the front patio - they were not allowing dine-in - a smart move considering it was just the 2 of them.

One of the questions he asked us was about "heat level" desired, on a scale of 1-5. I like spicy hot food, so I tried a "4." It was good, cleared the sinuses and I could still taste the chicken. But, next time I'll take a 3, please.

The food was delicious. It was packed with both chopsticks and plasticware as well as hot chili oil (in case "4" would not be enough.). I could not have asked for a more perfect setup. My daughter got the Pad Thai with no spice, I got the cashiew??? With chicken. The cashews were good and tasty, the chicken was tender, and the mix of vegetables was the perfect complement to the flavor of the saucr.

The only precaution I might add is that they scale heat on 5 levels. I love HOT & SPICY food, so I chose a 4 level of heat. Next time I'll try a 3, but suspect a 2 would be sufficient.

Great food, great prices, and especially a great cashier dining manager.

Food was fresh. Flavors of the dish were independent but melded together wonderfully. Tofu was flavorful and did not taste like it was cooked in the same grease as other food (I don't like my tofu to taste like carnival food as the grease is used over and over). Anyway, great place, try it.

Staff is amazing. Be patient, they're often overwhelmed with orders.

Me and My wife don’t live very close to this place but, let me tell you they’re fried rice is worth it’s!!! So we definitely make the drive. They make Some really sick potstickers. And the whole staff is super polite.

Food always taste great and I've never been disappointed with an order. The the expected thai dishes like pad thai are very good. Panang curry is my personal favorite. Also, the lunch special is a great deal. Lots of food for at an affordable price.

Ordered the d15 and it was amazing as with all of the food we ordered here. Drove by this place many times and i am so happy that we finally decided to stop! Good prices and everything was delicious to include the bobba tea. We will be coming back here!

Excellent place for lunch. They have great lunch specials. I had the penang curry chicken, it included soup and an egg roll and was $7.50,
If you're In the helotes area you may want to give it a try. They're next to the Silverado movie theater .

I love Thai cuisine and I frequent some of the other restaurants around N/W San Antonio. This was my first visit to Yum Thai and I absolutely loved everything they served me. My new #1 for Thai food.
