Wow!! First off the music selection we heard was olds 80's...thank you. It was great to reminisce while sipping on our delicious margaritas. The chips are fried fresh and salsa was tasty. Best charro beans ever!!
Best Mexican food we've had in a while. Our server was super nice and smiled the whole time. We'll be back!

We stopped at this quaint restaurant based on very good reviews, and it was as good as indicated in the reviews. This place is on a whole different level as a total dining experience. It is very clean, well laid out, with very attractive decor. The service was very attentive, even refilling the fresh-made Lemonade and fresh-made Horchata we had, without having to be asked. Both drinks were great, and I’ve never had better Horchata.
I had grilled tilapia and shrimp, with a salad and fries. It had two large tilapia filets and six pieces of shrimp. The seasoning on both was flavorful and the tilapia was nice and flaky. My wife had cheese enchiladas, rice & beans. She said the enchiladas were the best she’s had in a long time.
The main difference between this place and other good Mexican restaurants is that it seems like everything here is made fresh here. The salsa and chips are made fresh. The guacamole came in a large bowl and was as good as it gets, and the same for the pico de gallo; made with all fresh ingredients, served in a large bowl, and was delicious. We will definitely make El Sol a regular place to eat.

As we told the owner, this restaurant was a complete surprise (being our first time to visit) and we will definitely be back! The food is very authentic according to my Mexican wife and delicious..

I really enjoy El Sol. The food is good, the atmosphere is cozy and the staff is friendly. I especially like the puffy tacos which always taste fresh and are never greasy.

Favorites: Deluxe Burger and Carne Guisada. The salsa and chips are made fresh in house. The guacamole here is very good also.

OMGeez...any time we stop here to eat, we always get the deluxe cheeseburgers! They are fresh, homemade, and just a very saitsfying meal. Their homemade fries are just as good. Waitstaff is awesome and great service too.

My wife found this place a few weeks ago and we tried their puppy tacos. They are fantastic they’re not greasy when a good taste. The homemade tortillas are to die for they are the best in Kerrville. They’re back with a good taste you don’t mind paying the extra price for them. and the homemade pork tamales are huge, stuffed with good tasting meat. The waiter is pleasant and very helpful and always there when you need them.

This is the only Mexican restaurant in Kerrville that I can recommend. All the others pale in comparison.

Best puffy tacos and enchiladas in town. We love this place! Excellent customer service as well.

Authentic Mexican food. Flour tortillas were not homemade but were surprisingly good. Service was good. Liked that there is a full bar. The place is small but luckily we were there before the dinner rush on a Wednesday.

Went for lunch today 1/7/16, had the puffy tacos. They were Delicious. Husband had Tamale's and he thought they were delicious also. The restaurant service was quick, friendly and through. The waiter answered my question efficiently. We will go back again.

Great food and friendly service! The tamales are very tasty. Some if the best refried beans and rice I have had. Homemade fresh chips and salsa with a kick. Definitely worth coming back!

Yes, yes, yes! We sat on the patio to accommodate our dog. The server, Beto, got drinks out to us right away. Even brought a disposable cup of water for the dog!
The food was ready so quickly we didn't even have time to ask for more chips to finish off that amazing house made chunky salsa! Mmmm! But we still got more chips!

I found out that the gentleman who cashed us out was the chef and everything was his personal recipe! There were two cooks in the kitchen, I believe one of them was his wife. I made sure they got recognition! It came out so fast, and hot, and with a nice presentation! Nothing sloppy about it! Beautiful!
And very reasonable prices, except for the child's plate of bean and cheese taco, one soft tortilla with some beans and cheese $5.99! That was a shocker! Great place! All the way around! I will be back!

Food and service are top-notch. The only thing "ordinary" about this place is the building, but once you experience everything else, you'll likely forget about the building. Waiters seem like they came from some high-end elite coastal getaway or something--they've treated me like royalty since the first time I set foot in there...and I'm far from royalty.

Wow. This place was amazing. We are from Houston, where Mexican food is a dime a dozen. This place blew all of them out of the water. There was nothing super special, but everything was authentic, prepared fresh, served with a sense of humbleness, and consistently good.

We will certainly return next time we are in the area.

We live in Mesquite, TX and came out here for a road trip. We found El Sol De Mexico and decided to go have dinner there. Well i can really recommend this restaurant! Really great people, made us feel like home. The mini tacos, gorditas, chicken fajita tacos and there hot sauce were great!! The guacamole was so good! Overall everything was great! Good atmosphere and all.
