The Green Mesquite BBQ

Fabulous meals here. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. All the sides are super good. The creamed corn is sweet and good. You can ask for the wings to have no sauce or on the side. The sauce is relatively spicy. You'd never believe it but the catfish is wonderful!

I have not visited the restaurant, only ordered from DoorDash ... HOWEVER, I GIVE THEM 100 STARS!!! Their food is absolutely amazing!!! Chicken Fried Steak OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Homemade Scalloped potatoes to die for and friend okra that is definitely FRESH!

We absolutely love this place. We love all three locations but this is probably our favorite location out of all of them.

My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak double meat which he absolutely loved. The focus was all about the meat which was excellent quality and double means extra extra. The bread with fresh the cheese was melty and yummy and he thoroughly enjoyed it.

My absolute favorite... from this particular location of specially, is going to be the smoked Wings which I get the sauce on the side. This is the best place I have found in all of Austin for some really good chicken wings. They smoke them and then I think they might fry them afterwards to give it that nice crisp to it but they don't put breading on it which I love because I do not like breading on my chicken wings. They also seem to be bigger and plumper at this location as well. The buffalo wing sauce is really really good and does not taste like bottle sauce at all like a lot of places do and the blue cheese is fresh and really good.

We also enjoyed a couple drinks. I got the Chardonnay wine and my husband got the draft Fireman's 4 which was served cold and0 promptly.

The service was outstanding. Our waitress, Balinda, was very nice and sweet as well as prompt and attentive without being hovering.

Very laid back, good seating and parking if you have a family. Got the green mesquite potato smothered in BBQ, wife got the two meats BBQ, both stuffed and it was plenty. If your from Louisiana they’ve got Jambalaya also which is hard to find around here.

My wife and I are on the keto diet so this place worked out well.
The turkey was very good, and it’s hard to do BBQ turkey well.
The brisket was, to me, just average.
The green beans with bacon and corn sides were also very good.
The waitress was very nice and we never went without and our glasses never went empty.
I will be coming back here for sure.

Pretty good grub! No complaints. The sweet cornbread brought back memories of my grandmothers. The bbq sauce was pretty good, not too sweet. Next time will try the spicy. And that chocolate fudge pie is awesome! Nice, friendly folks, got my order to go but was pretty nice atmosphere.

We've been here twice now and have ordered to go a few times. They have consistently good smoked meats and other options. Highly recommend.

Took a chance today & ate here (got a tip from a classmate). To say it paid off is an understatement!
OH WOW! The food & service was amazing! We never ran out of drink, our server (pretty sure his name is Chris) got us everything we needed without any issue.
I'd never tasted juicy turkey from a smoker before. All of the places I've been to have been either bone dry or really close to dry. The turkey there was PERFECT. The sausage was *chef's kiss,* the chopped brisket was awesome, & the sweet tea took me back to my childhood.
I can't sing enough praise for what I tried. This place definitely brought its A game & I can't wait to take my friends next time they're down. If you're in the area, I seriously recommend it!
Also, it's waaaaay cheaper than most of the BBQ in Austin!

Came here for lunch. My wife got a loaded potato and I got the green mesquite cheesesteak. They were both truly amazing!! After we had peach cobbler and fudge pie and they were awesome too. Great service by Chris, we will definitely come again!

We loved it! We were there for the brisket special for $10.99. It was delicious! I also got the wings and the sauce was as good as they say. Staff was nice too. A great find.

Manoli and Ali are awesome!! The food is even more amazing!! I am from Austin and as a native I can stamp that this is the best BBQ in Austin!! The ribs are tender and flavorful!! The brisket is tender and not super fatty ever!! The cornbread is sweet and moist, the beans and perfect and not too soupy, the potato salad is not too mayo-y and not too mustard-y. The sauce is my fav tied right next to SaltLick sauce!! Friendly staff every time and fun cute animal videos on the screen!! What more can an Austin gal ask for!?:).

Overall experience: Exceptional
Waitstaff/ manager we’re very attentive . Cornbread was on point and better than most in the area. Brisket was lean but still moist. I am not a big brisket fan but this one definitely won me over. I can’t really say anything negative cause everything was pretty dang tasty. I will return and would recommend this place

The Green Mesquite has a diverse menu for a BBQ Restaurant.
For example, I got the Frito Pie It's well made, with a good balance of chips to chilli to cheese ratio.
The ribs here are also some of the most tender, fall off the bone ribs in the area.
Beers on tap. Not a large selection, but there's some variety.

The food is Always great!
And, The best smoked wings you will ever have!

They have been my fav barbecue for over a decade....Chicken and brisket is what i typically go for:) Coleslaw is my fav side dish and the okra is great as well...I have not tried the other sides or meats. Love the spicy barbecue sauce at the location off 1 35, the one on Barton Springs road does not have it :) They are still a 5 star restaurant for me and good value for the money in my opinion.

The meal I had was very delicious. Had fast service, and the wings lived up to the hype. Some pretty decent deals through the week as daily specials.
