Los Zarapes

Had lunch with my family at Los Zarapes. The Carne asada tacos were grilled just right, moist,cut into smaller pieces and had wonderful flavor. The shrimp plater and fish tacos were awesome as well. Their horchata ( rice water) is one of the best I have ever had. Must try it. Service was very good and the waiter explained everything on the menu. So, if your o. MAHOMET,IL... stop by at Los Zarapes.

I love this place. Staff is amazing, food is excellent and their blue raspberry frozen margaritas are absolutely delicious. My family has been going here for years and we’ve never had a bad experience.

Incredible service!! The waiter must've overheard that I was craving queso, so they suggested it right away. (Delicious!) I started mildly choking on some food/coughing, the waiter noticed immediately and brought me some extra napkins. They heard that I was paying for the meal as an early birthday present, they brought my friend great dessert and sang. Thank you for the great meal!

I never review things but I felt compelled to write a review for this lucky little find. Was on the way to Nashville and stopped in for a quick bite. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the exterior but I can't resist tacos and margaritas so we proceeded. We were greeted immediately, sat, and asked what we would like to drink by the same person. Within 1-2 minutes we had our drinks, chips, salsa, and (of course) cheese dip. The waiter was very prompt and took our orders without difficulty. I wanted peppers instead of mushrooms in my dish, so I was nervous it wasn't going to come out correct, as it often doesn't for one reason or another. However, our food came out within 10 minutes, was piping hot, and was correct. It was delicious, a bit salty, but I like it that way. The rest of the service was phenomenal. Price was fantastic for a lunch shrimp dish ($7.50). The place, including the bathroom, was very clean. Only thing left to be desired was the margarita (tasted like cheap margarita mix), but the tequila was strong so I was happy. Overall, very happy with this little find right off the highway!

Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. The chilaquiles and fajitas Hawaiian are both highly recommended, but it feels like you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The staff are always friendly and give great service. The Margaritas are good and the food is very good also. My favorite thing to order is the Fajita Texanas. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

This place is great! There is something for everyone on the menu, and a good margarita lineup. Prices are in line and this place has been going strong since 2007. Skip El Toro and do yourself a favor and try their food, you wont regret it.

My boyfriend and I eat here every couple of days, dine in and carry out and they are always super fast getting your food to you, even on busy nights. The staff here is very friendly and the inside of the restaurant if very friendly and inviting. The food is delicious too.
The funny thing is we have an El Toro right down the street from it and it is way way worse in every way.

We love eating here! Always good service and the food is always amazing. Wait staff very accommodating, and they will make your food just how you like it. We eat here almost weekly.

Los Zarapes has consistently friendly service and fast, tasty food. The dining room is also well decorated and happy looking. The owners are also spectacular people who are involved members of the Mahomet community.

This restaurant is one of my favorites! The food is delicious and the chips are always warm. The service is really fast and the waiters are all very friendly. I recommend getting queso with your chips and salsa. This is a definite must try!

Have been a long time customer, and highly recommend Los Zarapes. Have ordered carryout during our COVID times, now, and have been just as impressed with that as I have been dining inside in the past. A great Mexican restaurant!

Very friendly staff and great margaritas! We eat here almost every week. The Mexican style of food is what you expect for the area but much better quality than the local competitor. Highly recommend!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Mahomet. The Mexican food is very tasty and very reasonably priced. I strongly recommend you eat here if you are stopping in Mahomet or even just passing by. The only negative I can think of about this place is the restaurant is a little too small for large groups.

No other Mexican restaurant like it around. They're always friendly, efficient, and clean. On top of that, the food is delicious.
